Thought I’d try something new and went to Pinki Pinki for a High Tea using a Cudo deal (Petite High Tea with pot of tea) - however, I think that deal has now expired.
It’s in a hidden location in Camberwell so if you don’t know about it, you’re unlikely to stumble upon it. The place is really quaint, with cute but modern decor.
The High Tea came with macarons, scones, sandwiches, spinach pastries and spicy prawns. The prawns were a highlight because they were fresh, crunchy and an interesting element for a high tea. However, we found the spinach pastry was a bit hard and the scone a bit dense.
If you’re a tea aficionado - this is the place for you. There are an overwhelming number of tea options.
Pinki Pinki is beautifully decorated and the owner is absolutely lovely. He couldn't have been more accommodating. My friend and I asked for half vegetarian and half meat high tea and this was no problem. I'm not sure why other people are complaining about the portions because for me and my friend, it was the perfect amount. We got one Turkish delight tea and another lavender, both were delicious. The owner kept filling up our pots too. Unfortuntely, we were the only ones in the cafe the entire time. I think that must just have something to do with the location, as it is off the main street. I will definitely be going back there, especially because high tea is only $20 each.
We came here with a voucher for a Pinki Pinki tea or high tea. This is an attractively decorated little cafe just off the street in the large building on the corner of Camberwell Junction. We chose the Asian Pinki Pinki tea and it was excellent value with a very generous amount of excellent dim sum items accompanied by a very pleasant tasting lemon grass tea and a dessert item.
The service was very efficient and friendly, making for a most enjoyable experience. We will return soon.
Delicious food, great tea, friendly service. Highly recommended for high tea. Great value for price as well. Nice tea display and cups it is a great place to go.
This is just a delightful cafe serving a wonderful variety of teas along with tasty food choices. Lovely ambience and very friendly staff. I’ll definitely come again.
A super cute and quaint little place! Very instagram worthy and the decor is appealing. I was originally meant to come here for high tea with a friend using the livingsocial deal but she could not make it last minute so I just decided to come by myself because I didn't want to reschedule it. The manager (apparently ex-Windsor hotel waiter/manager?) kindly told me that I am able to reschedule if I want and do the high tea next time, and maybe just get something small off the menu for this occasion. I said it's fine, I'm here anyway so I might as well enjoy the high tea!
I chose the Chinese style high tea as it looked lighter and I was also wanting to try something different from the norm. For the tea I chose the Japanese green tea and I really liked it. It was fragrant and nice to drink. When I was waiting for the food I glanced around and saw the other tables assembled with beautiful tea cups and that they also have their own branded tea for sale. Shortly after that the food arrived: 2x3pc spicy fried prawn, 3pc prawn dumplings, 3pc siu mai, 2pc juicy bao, 2pc gua bao (pork belly bao) and a plate of profiteroles as dessert. I was actually able to finish everything except for the gua baos which I decided to take home. On the whole I really enjoyed the whole setup of the high tea and the presentation, however the food itself was average in my opinion. Most of it seemed to be frozen/bought from Costco. I guess I would not pay the original price for this sort of quality and quantity. On another note, this is definitely a great place for relaxing, sipping tea and catching up with friends. I recommend coming here to hang out, chill and unwind, sip on some tea and just enjoy a lovely afternoon.
The winner of this place is the interior. Very pretty, modern and elegant looking place. We used a voucher for cudo but if we do pay $20pp it would be expensive for the amount and quality of the food they serve. I guess you pay for the place, which is quite a cozy place to chat and sit for a tea. We had the asian choice of high tea and I think hibiscus tea (can't remember?). Tea was nice but the ingredients' flavour isn't strong enough to taste them in it. The appearance of the food was amazing, since they used this wooden frame like stairs to put tiny plates of dishes. Food was okay, not the best but hey, what do you expect from high tea place? The staff was really friendly and happy to explain things to you. I haven't tried many high tea place, but I guess I am happy to go here for a chat with friends.
