Wine wasn't my cup of tea but food and service was top quality. Glad I stumbled upon this place - highly recommended. Relaxed atmosphere and decent sized portions.
Great food, friendly amateur service, cheap young wines. Not good for gluten free (but manageable ). Nice ambience - pleasantly quiet on sunny sunday arvo despite being quite busy.
Love it!!. Went yesterday for lunch and just loved it. It is quite rustic and unpretentious, and very French. Glad I have found this hidden gem and will definitely be back :)

Duck and chicken was nice. Ambience homely and cosy. Coffee was nice and served with a napkin. Milk shake was yummy too. The presentation of food was terrible with everything chucked on a plate - vegs and potatoes served on a different dish would have been the presentation expected. Kitchen seemed too small for the amount of tables as my friend and his family who came later was told that food will take an hour - they left. The young gentleman and lady were very friendly and good at their service, albeit their bosses didn't seem to have a good plan for kitchen and service management - i guess that's what diners expect. My partner and I were not too happy about the lady in the kitchen who didn't sound too polite with her tone to her staff while smiling - the kitchen is an arms length away from inside dining and we felt real uncomfortable. She seemed to be running the place from in there. There was no POS terminal which could have made ordering and billing much better - no tax invoice either. Overall food and beverage is good, but service management needs some review - I believe these fine touches would have made this a better experience.

Popped in for an impromptu sunday lunch today and had one of the best meals ever! We got carried away tasting the wines in the cellar door after we ordered, but our lovely waitress wasn't fussed at all with the delay and just put our starters aside for us ( trio of dips and pork rillette.... Yum!!). We bought a bottle of their delicious Malbec from the cellar door to have over a shared main of Pasta Provencale which was absolutely Devine! Will

Beautiful & quirky. Little River is a beautiful little French cafe in the Swan Valley. It is hidden on Forest Rd which is a side street of the main strip which keeps it my hidden gem!
I've been going to Little River for years and it never disappoints. The food is amazing, the wine is lovely and the views are gorgeous. It is my favourite place to be on a spring afternoon.
You do sometimes have to wait around 30 minutes for your food - especially when it is busy - I have gotten to know the owners of the cafe (lovely mother and daughter duo) and as it is only a small family run business, they are often rushed off their feet and don't have a huge staff base - so give them a break guys.
Enjoying a beautiful salad on a spring afternoon isn't about sitting down, eating your food and leaving - it's all about taking the time to enjoy the view, the french ambience and the little things in life.

A slice of Provence in Swan Valley!. If you are a lover of all things French, then you will love this little cafe.. it is one of my favourites in Swan Valley. Little tables and chairs with red and white checkered table cloths are scattered under the patio area with vineyards only a few metres away. The perfect place to sip a glass of wine in the sunshine. We ordered the petit pot de creme with chocolat chaud and vanilla icecream with belguim chocolate. So delicious! The icecream was served in a sweet red and white striped cup with a wafer and oozing chocolate and tiny purple grapes garnished on the edge of the plate. I felt like I had been transported to Provincial France.. Afterward we bought a French baguette to take home- the inside of the place is decorated with kitsch pictures of Paris and old tango music and French songs being played which added to the atmosphere.
