Best meal I've had in Tasmania. Flavours popping off the plate. Great service and good wine. We liked it so much we went back for seconds the very next night.
For a lover of spicy foods i find it difficult to find restaurants that actually accomodate my love for chilli. Last night I had the most superb curry and got my dish 'thai' hot and it was certainly worth it! There is nothing better than having a little sweat running down your forehead whilst consuming so many vibrant flavours. Absolutely delicious!
On arrival at Monsoon you'll be drenched with the sweet aroma of a busy kitchen with non functional extractor fans.
Otherwise you will enjoy an delicious meal, fantastic flavours and exquisitely prepared.
Don't miss the kids corner for unsharperned pencils and cold drafts of air from the bathroom.
Thanks Monsoon, the food was moist ;)
Great food but even more amazing atmosphere for dating. Not crowdy at night. Perfect dating spot. This is my first time giving a review. I had to make one because this place seems so underrated for such great food and atmosphere. The staffs give great service too. They always smile!
It really is that good. Great menu, smells, tastes and value in a gorgeous and quiet setting. I can't think of any reason why I will not come back
A little good find thai fusion restaurant found along the Hampden road at battery point. The taste was a little too sweet for my liking but the taste is actually very tasty. The steam trout was beautifully prepared, fresh and taste gorgeous.
You don’t have to travel far for a good green curry with Hobart’s plethora of Thai restaurants. Our surging restaurant scene means you also don’t need to go far from your suburb to enjoy a meal out. Which is why I last ate in Battery Point circa 2003. But I love Thai food and I love a good deal. Monsoon Thai Fusion is in the Entertainment Book so Boozy Friday Friend and I booked in.
Last minute booking which they fitted us in, a plus. Options of adjusting spicyness level when ordering our mains as my girlfriend can't handle much (yet) was a pleasant surprise considering Thai focus cuisine are generally quite spicy.. Service was very attentive and food- brilliant and tasty. My only concern is their table layout as our initial table was next to the main foot traffic area which would've been quite annoying had we stayed on that same table but other than that, it was a welcome positive first food experience in TAS. Definitely will be back.
Wow! Fantastic fresh flavours. It was really quite busy in the restaurant and the service was still fabulous. It was the best tasting Thai food I have had for a long time.
Delicious food and friendly customer service! We'd definitely go back. We tried red curry and tofu stake. Definitely recommend this place.
Really nice Dishes! Pre-booking recommend! The scollops and prawn with chill sauce was really fresh and good! The noodles with chicken and prawn are wonderful as well. Don't forget to try the Tomyum soup! That's amazing!
Some process problems to work out, a few incorrect orders and staff seem to be stressed a lot of the time, but the tasty food, interior and friendliness of the staff make up for it.
Direction from google map is a bit misleading. Search "Galleria Salamanca" and enter from there up to the corner and go to second floor. Parking payable around Salamnca market. Place: plenty of table, clean toilet. Not so much on the Hobart view. Service was attentive and quick. Food: we ordered, pad thai, fried rice, chicken salad, and green curry. All comes with authentic Thai taste. Portion is good for the price. Definitely will come again if i visit Hobart.
Meals were delicious. Casual atmosphere with friendly staff. BYO from Drink Co bottle shop and bar on ground level before you head up to restaurant on first floor.
Delicious Thai food in Salamanca market. Their Pad Thai and crispy fish basil n chilli fried rice is very tasty. Must try if you are in Hobart looking for a good Thai food.
This is my first time visit Suwan Thai, I’m indeed impressed to find this high quality Thai in Tassie.
Im a huge fan of pad Thai, had it all the time when I was in Bangkok. The pad Thai of suwan Thai is the first one I have had on this island so far really close to what I had in Thailand.
We love the Tom Yam soup too, we cannot stop from drinking that, their chefs are definitely good at seasoning and know well about Thai cuisine.
Though the mango sticky rice is quite expensive, $15, the portion is satisfactory. I cannot emphasis enough how surprise am I when I find the sticky rice have the same taste as I had back to Thailand. However, the texture of the rice is a bit too runny, and the mango is too sour (I cannot blame the restaurant on this) in the standard of Thai dessert.
Overall, we had a wonderful Thai dinner today, will visit again for sure!
We had dinner at Suwan tonight and it was amazing!! Everything we ordered from the mixed entree to the curry and coconut rice was delicious! I especially loved the Tom Yum soup! One of the best I’ve ever had! Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a good Thai in Hobart!
Absolutely delicious food. Customer service also good. We really enjoyed the lunch.
