Went to this pretty place today and had a lovely afternoon with my little one! Staff were really friendly, food was amazing and my smooth was so refreshing! Was a really nice atmosphere! Quite relaxing
We needed a kid-friendly place as my nephew is almost two and doesn't like sitting still. This place has a sandpit play area right next to the seats, which was brilliant! Would be even better if it was actually set up (it still had a tarpaulin covering the sand).
Given it doesn't have many reviews, I did question what it was going to be like. In my head I was thinking we'd be the only ones and the food options would be from a fridge of pre-made sandwiches, rolls and generic sweet treats. However I was wrong. There's a lovely courtyard area and plenty of seats inside. The nursery part is quaint and it's a cute little place to potter about, especially now that the weather is better.
Today we had eggs with some sides and the egg and bacon roll (with tomato salsa and aioli). The menu is quite well priced and they have a few good kid options too, even fairy bread. Our meals were lovely and quite generous. The egg and bacon roll was actually really tasty with the tomato salsa and coffee was good too.
The actual cafe isn't typical of popular cafes that are popping up on every corner, but it still had a fair number of patrons come through when we were there. The staff were nice but a little bit frazzled and seemed to be in a rush even though most of the patrons seemed like they were on a go-slow.
To my surprise I would actually come back. It's even inspired me set up my own little garden.
Now that we are right into Spring it’s time to get inspired with your garden and to get outside with your kids – and Kew Nursery and Cafe will help you with both those aims. As the name suggests, it’s a nursery nestled in the residential streets of Kew. It’s quite small but has the range of flowers, herbs, vegetables that suitable for the urban gardener.
