Went to this pretty place today and had a lovely afternoon with my little one! Staff were really friendly, food was amazing and my smooth was so refreshing! Was a really nice atmosphere! Quite relaxing
We needed a kid-friendly place as my nephew is almost two and doesn't like sitting still. This place has a sandpit play area right next to the seats, which was brilliant! Would be even better if it was actually set up (it still had a tarpaulin covering the sand).
Given it doesn't have many reviews, I did question what it was going to be like. In my head I was thinking we'd be the only ones and the food options would be from a fridge of pre-made sandwiches, rolls and generic sweet treats. However I was wrong. There's a lovely courtyard area and plenty of seats inside. The nursery part is quaint and it's a cute little place to potter about, especially now that the weather is better.
Today we had eggs with some sides and the egg and bacon roll (with tomato salsa and aioli). The menu is quite well priced and they have a few good kid options too, even fairy bread. Our meals were lovely and quite generous. The egg and bacon roll was actually really tasty with the tomato salsa and coffee was good too.
The actual cafe isn't typical of popular cafes that are popping up on every corner, but it still had a fair number of patrons come through when we were there. The staff were nice but a little bit frazzled and seemed to be in a rush even though most of the patrons seemed like they were on a go-slow.
To my surprise I would actually come back. It's even inspired me set up my own little garden.
Now that we are right into Spring it’s time to get inspired with your garden and to get outside with your kids – and Kew Nursery and Cafe will help you with both those aims. As the name suggests, it’s a nursery nestled in the residential streets of Kew. It’s quite small but has the range of flowers, herbs, vegetables that suitable for the urban gardener.
Take away coffee was lovely.
Well priced.. I'm unsure about the other reviews claiming this place is overpriced but personally I've found it to be very reasonable. I would have to agree on the comments about some of the staff. It's standard breakfast fare at good prices. 2 drinks and 2 breakfasts came in around $40. We'll be back
Kew Gem. Had a great brunch here today. Good, efficient service and fab food. PERFECT coffee. Lovely setting.
The French toast with poached pear, rhubarb and cinnamon cream was really scrumptious. Freshly squeezed orange juice was freshly squeezed.
Best steak sandwich I've had in years!. Had a brilliant steak sandwich here which ticked every box in it's category. The steak itself was a good piece of meat, very tender and tasty! Nice toasted gourmet bread, melted cheese, bacon, onion jam, beetroot relish. Making me salivate just thinking of it, can't go back quick enough to have it again!!!
Good food, reasonable prices and very friendly staff.. I've been going to Kew Nursery Café since it opened and can't talk highly enough of this place. Just a nice friendly place to have a relaxing coffee or a good value breakfast or lunch. Great!
WOW! This place is sensational!. I stumbled across the cafe when I popped in to pick up some seedlings and a gift for a friends housewarming. OMG, everything about the place was 10/10, the staff were friendly, fellow customers were chatty, the background music was relaxing. . . I felt like I had stepped into another world. A beautiful piping hot latte was brought my way whilst I read today's paper, I couldn't resist the all day breakfast so I ordered Nursery Scramble with brie and fresh garden herbs served with toast $13! I will tell everyone about this place and will be back again and again!
Have never been disappointed by the food here! Great meals and great service!
