The perfect little spot to escape the cold winter mornings! Always greeted with a friendly face and a well made coffee. Food is equally delicious; their poached eggs with smashed avo and feta is a favorite
I've always gravitated towards anything that draws on travel or adventured-related themes. However the opportunities to check the place out has eluded me many, many times, until recently. As many of my fellow foodies have already commented on the size, it's unique car park-facing frontage and the pulled pork burger, I'll skip all that.
Being a cafe, credit needs to be given, albeit mentioned many times already, the coffee is decent. It's fresh. This place just serves good, unpretentious coffee. I happened to be sitting facing the window overlooking Fenton Way. Interestingly it felt more like a summit camp as the road slopes down and you can catch a glimpse of the city skyline from a distance. Several times my mind just drifted away in between conversations, thinking of the next travel adventure. Thank you Base Camp Espresso. You just made my day. I'll most certainly be back.
This place is very local with plenty of natural light and its close to parking. Staff here are very friendly. I had a chai latte and the pulled pork burger. The latte was beautifully done, the pulled pork was tasty. I think if they change their potato thin sliced chips to potato wedges, that would make a big difference to the meal. Will come back again.
