Staff are very friendly..sometimes the food can take sometime to appear but the food is worth the wait..love the big breakfast and the amazing view
Solid hit out at the burger shop before hand left me parched as bro. So I headed next door hoping for a frappe and found smoothies. This was passionfruit on skim milk with no icecream. Supersonic good flavour but the crushed seeds did nothing for me.
Driftwood on the Bay is a friendly casual eatery with a range of good dishes and very good coffee. Quality is high with good fresh ingredients. Best in La Perouse!
Driftwood on the Bay is a casual cafe located in La Perouse. I stop by for some lunch and check it out. La Perouse is a beautiful area. Driftwood on the Bay is right by the bay (hence the name) so it's a nice venue for a casual lunch if you are a local. One of the staff tell me that they have a lot of regulars that come by as they are big fans of the
Nice and fresh fruit juice, that's all that I get here so I couldn't say much about the place. All I know is that this is among one of the few cafe I could find in La Perouse. Even though I only ordered their juice, I like their customer service as the waitress is so kind and their juice is fresh. They also have a nice view even though it doesn't shows the beach.
Sir And Mlady Dine Out
+4
Driftwood On The Bay is a casual, friendly venue with a quirky interior. There are cute "fairy" lights outside that add to the charm of the place. If the thought of good Italian and seafood all in one place gets your juices flowing then you need to float by Driftwood by the bay.
We both started our meal with a Merlot each - Mlady's favourite. If you love a good wine and it's red (like Mlady does) it can still complement all food - says she!
For starters we had the Salt and Pepper squid and asked for this to come with salad as opposed to a serving of chips. How impressive was this! It was so tender and tasty and just melted in your mouth. The salad partnered the squid well. It was fresh and vibrant and had a nice light dressing on it. We asked for a salad as we knew that one of our mains came with chips.
This place a bit of a surprise, I did not expect to find a small restaurant like it in La Perouse. Staff is very friendly, food is good too! We were looking for a small steak for one of our guest but only the 300g was available, we were very surprised that the staff came after to us with money back because they were going to cook a smaller steak! Really nice to see from a restaurant!
Driftwood by the Bay definitely has the casual dining vibe down pat. We went on a Sunday evening and the mood was definitely laid back with groups of friends enjoying a casual beer whilst taking in the views on offer. We were promptly attended to by staff who pointed out the specials which were handwritten on their display boards.
Being quite the hungry we ordered 3 dishes (gluttony is such a bad thing 😅!!)
Grilled octopus salad (at least I was trying to be healthy right….). This looked like it could feed a family haha. The colourful dish definitely did its job of whetting the appetite in preparation for
Fisherman’s basket because just one dish of grilled octopus was never going to be enough.
The dish of the night however was the fettuccini de mare with the array of seafood soaking in the intricate sauce (did I mention I really like seafood?)
Food service was the fast and the food was served hot. The only downside was that we only had 2 stomachs and could not try all the specials. Maybe next time we will bring our friends on a lazy Sunday!
Great cafe, had lunch their, the Fish Burger and Snitz Burger were very tasty along with the rocket and beetroot salad. Banana smooth was well made. They were very generous on the serving of salad! Will be back!
It’s rare for us to venture as far east as La Perouse, a picturesque peninsula on Botany Bay which is home to quite a bustling strip of cafes and restaurants. Unfortunately on the day we picked to head over, it’s bucketing down with rain which almost ruins the views of the water from Driftwood on the Bay, where we have chosen to grab a late lunch. It’s a cosy cafe, with random knick knacks plastered up on the walls and giant Nutella jars hanging from the ceiling, adding to the chilled out vibe of the place.
Food is good, especially the today’s special food lamb curry with rice, still have a good view to the ocean.
Unfortunately I went there yesterday with a friend and the scotch fillet steak served was barely luke warm. I was not impressed as usually the food served here is first class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Been going here for a long time. Food and service are great. Highly recommend it.
After walking from Maroubra to La perouse we thought of having a dinner with few drinks. Then we found this place which had varieties of options to try. We had Grilled Chicken Burger with fries and salad, Fishermen's Basket with fries and salad and Lamb Rogan Josh with Boiled white rice. Burger was not that good and bit over priced, Seafood basket was nicely presented and it was good for 2 people. Lamb Rogan Josh was so tasty and full of flavours. So overall our dinner was ok.
Awesome service. Today we got our cafe's back, ...to some degree. I stopped in for breakfast here and man the vibe from the guy at the counter that was it, I'm Eating here!!! He was friendly and joyful. Seems like an old place with some history i see locals waving to the gentleman as they walk past the cafe. The food was delicious but what was even more satisfying was the service.
Enjoyed Brunch ❤️, thank you
