We sat down next to the window at this cozy cafe. The service is warm and welcoming. Food prices are reasonable and had plenty of choices.
We ordered the french toast and the haloumi toast.
The french toast is refreshing and colorful, it's a little sweet but just what we needed. The haloumi toast with beetroot relish is an interesting combo, the sweetness really balanced out the salt in the haloumi.
Coffee is alright, but they have many other beverage options too.
With the loveliest service, this café was a joy to dine in. Prices were very reasonable, however I did add a serving of avocado which was $4. The hummus was a little dry and difficult to scoop up, but the beans were crazy delicious. I loved how it was a filling and satisfying meal, despite not looking like a lot from first glance. The monkey smoothie had banana, coconut milk, and honey and was also quite good, and came in a big glass. Food took a tad longer to come out than I had hoped, but it more than made up for it in taste and service.
Flood Street Carousel is a long-standing corner cafe that offers fantastic ambience and a family-friendly dining atmosphere. Located in Leichhardt, this cafe is conveniently close to the Marketplace. There’s plenty of parking about, the closest being the Flood Street Leichhardt Car Park. The interior is spacious and haphazardly decorated in a chic way, with an eclectic mix of lounges and chairs. The tables had a checkerboard that could probably double up as an area for playing chess!
Flood Street Carousel doubles as a small grocer, selling Infinity Sourdough Bread and the delicious Farmer Jo Muesli, as well as preserves, sauces....and flowers. Make sure someone buys you a bunch Mummas! Just a word of warning, Flood St Carousel is a cash only business (when I suggested to Mr Itch that a bunch of flowers were in order, he used the excuse that he didn't have any more cash on him!).
Great coffee! Great food! Great service! Quirky little cafe on the corner near a round about - a light breeze flows through this beautiful brunch paradise on a sunny, clear winters day as we eat our avocado toast and pumpkin palenta w/eggs, sugar snap beans. Kid friendly, cash only.
Best coffee I've found in Sydney. They use sensory lab beans from Melbourne and manage to make a much better cup than the sensory lab in bondi. Menu is quirky and creative - sorry but I disagree with a previous post wanting the regular menu items. I think the menu is a selling point for this cafe. Yes super child friendly with toys, books, colouring pencils etc. great park and playground across the road for takeaways too.
I really liked this cafe! Coffee was GREAT! Deco was cool, staff were super friendly and helpful! My child was screaming the place down, and I didn't feel judged or like I was annoying at all. They had magnets on the fridge for the kids to play with. My meal was delishious and for a meal with 3 ingredients that's saying something! The prices were fair too. Four of us ate and drank for under $50. The babycinos were different and exciting. Good vibe, good atmosphere, good location.
We will be back tomorrow!
Great New Hangout. Went here for a quick breakfast, and that it was. Between three of us we ordered the breakfast served in the pan, brioche with bananas, (the third meal escapes me!) and coffees. We were all really pleased with our meals and the friendly, efficient service. The cafe has a nice open feel, like you're eating at a friend's house, relaxing while they prepare your coffee for you. Really good location behind the market place, away from the hustle-bustle of Marion Street, but convenient enough for you to pop in before you go shopping (makes a really nice change to the food court).
Give it a go!
Love their food. My favorite is the hectic chicken sandwich and I recently discovered their French toast! Good coffee too.
Quaint and friendly, the coffee is great and so is the food. This family owned business is full of happiness and warmth and the make and amazing baked egg dish.
Fresh, tasty, great service and good coffee. Very popular local spot and well deserved. Recommend.
My go to place for excellent coffee and the best thing about the place is the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that the owners Dan and Cal have created. It is a home away from home :) I would recommend to anyone who is in the neighbourhood or who visits Leichhardt!
Stumbled across here this morning and stayed on for lunch. Amazing coffee and the trout salad was divine!! Great customer service too, even in the morning rush.
Dan and Cal, the owners, are a lovely couple who know how to make you feel right at home.
The coffee is superb, and super quick, plus the food is always delicious.
Great value for money, which is why we visit frequently.
