I attended the event ‘Whiskies of the World’
Run by the management of the LPH and had the best night.
It was Whiskey tasting matched with beautiful food and the host ‘Brendan, certainly knew his stuff.
The value was definitely well worth it and I would definitely do it again in the future and would recommend to anyone, not just Whiskey lovers.
Well done LPH!
I love going to the LPH. It is my favourite pub for a meal. I have the salt and pepper calamari and it is excellent value for money. The calamari is always cooked to perfection. Big meals for great prices.
Food is great especially the moroccan chicken salad, I can’t wait to come back for another meal here it’s always a good place to meet friends and family
We've been to the Lower many times over the years, and although we stopped going a while back because it had gone downhill, we have recently given it another chance and this last week was our best pub experience in the area in a long time. Staff were super friendly and helpful, food came quickly and the scotch fillet was great. We had a kid's birthday there so brought our own cake and the venue couldn't have been more accommodating, happily storing it for us and bringing plates and spoons when we needed them. Looking forward to our next visit.

Regular friendly greeting by Jenny for Sat lunch , Spoilt by Kate who insisted booking for booth was not available as booths were all booked. . Disappointed that when finished eating we observed all booths remained empty. Debbie the manager offered no apology. Rahul and Ro very obliging. Meals prompt service and excellent quality as always.
Phillip and Cherie Holmes.
Terrance bar in the lower plenty hotel at Viewbank. It is a hidden gem with nice Terrance bar serving great fresh beer and good wines. Cheese and salami platter is a must order with the drinks. Good environment during the dinner and evening time.
Found myself at this pub for dinner with a friend as she knew someone that worked here. At places like this I always find it best to order a parma as a safe bet and I think I made the right call. A satisfying serve of cheese topped chicken schnitty was well executed. There were a couple of more exotic options available on the menu but I’ve been burned before by thinking it’s a good idea to order Asian inspired dishes at pubs. We sat outside but the inside was actually very modern and stylish for a bistro with a lovely atmosphere. I believe it’s had a renovation since I was last there a good decade ago for drinks. A pretty decent option if you live nearby
Lovely new play area for kids and the bar area and patio are nice and fresh. Food has never been a problem-still good. The attitude towards mums with prams is not great though, every time I go, I'm made to feel like an inconvenience asking for space to move through or for 2 highchairs (twins). I also walk there and there is no ramp up to the pub but about 20steps at the front which I lug my double wide up.
I feel if you build a kids play area-why not be more accommodating for the clientele you are wanting to bring in-make an aisle for prams to move through, let mums sit near the play area to watch their kids. Open up earlier for morning tea as mums come in based on their kids nap times not really on when lunch time is, this way-you can compete for more mums who are going to cafes and it won't interfere with the rsl crowd.
Meals were good, over priced pub food. Service good but for a Sunday felt like we were being rushed so they can close. Kids had fun in the play area.
Went here for lunch recently, the menu wasn't very lengthy, and a lot of the dishes had prawns in them, so if you don't like prawns your choices are limited, but the food was good. I ordered chicken scallopini and hubby ordered a lamb shoulder risotto that was gluten free. Quite enjoyable, although probably at the upper end of pricing for a bistro type meal.
Wowie all I can say is what a transformation and a must for anyone living in the area. I order the southern fried chicken burger, the crispy chicken was Devine and complemented extremely well by the aioli and fresh salad. Have no negatives about the dish will definitely be back.
A cozy bistro located in the greens of Montmorency. Lunch was good especially the chicken parma. Dining area inside has comfy seating. Outdoor dining perhaps can be improved as you could get wet when it rains.
Always enjoy gathering here for a quick catch up. The negative being that they always "chase" you out early. We were there for my son's schools parents introductions and they were already telling us it's closing at 915pm in the restaurant area
We had my son Jayson's Ist Anniversary Memorial function at the Lower Plenty Hotel because it was my son's favourite place to meet up with family and friends. Manager Jack booked and organised the function with me and he was very informative, experienced and patient. We were in the River Bridge Room which also had access to a private bar and the outdoor terrace. We had about 60 people and it felt roomy especially because we had the choice to go outside (great for these Covid conditions). My guest were very well looked after by super friendly staff. D was the wonderful manager on the day and all the wait and bar staff were polite and helpful. The food was perfect and as a real foodie and cook myself I had no need to worry. The chef is professional and experienced with large functions. His advice on menu choices and quantity was spot on, otherwise I would have spent a lot more money on food and it would have gone to waste.
I will be definitely be doing more functions here in the future. It was just so easy.
So a big huge THANK YOU to Jack, D and the crew at the Lower
You're all doing a great job and I will be back.
