So a bit of a preface here.
We are burger aficionados - we are on a mission to find Victoria's best burger and have driven a 240km round trip just to get to a tiny roadhouse with the perfect fish and chip shop burg.
Secondly, one half of us is a massive Bowie fan.
When you opened we thought of coming, but never got there... Then the news hit and it kind of felt a little... sacrilegious going?
Anyway, now here we are. We got to you and didn't cry. As far as burgers go, you're totally up there in our top three. The ratio of meat to cheese to bun was amazing. The texture and mouth feel was ace. The bun was pretty stellar too. Only dip was the slaw, it was just a smidge watery and could of used a bit of pep, maybe with more of a remoulade zing.
Our Starman w/ Mac n Cheese Croquette ticked our main boxes. Thank you for the experience.
Lady Stardust burger was soooo good. Hubs had the Wham Bam Thank You Ma'am and the kids had the young dudes. And don't get me started on the Mac'n'Cheese Corquettes!!!!Top shelf!!
If you love Bowie like we do the music was the best but think it needs a bit more ambiance and the people who work there should engage there customers more. There is always room for improvement but cannot fault the food.
Ordered the Dudeburger, Holy Toledo and Blue Jean burgers via Uber Eats and oh my, I am thoroughly impressed. I asked for my Dudeburger to be cooked well done as I can't currently have undercooked meat and it was cooked to perfection. It wasn't overcooked or dry. My partner's Holy Toledo was a perfect pink and he loved the super hot sauce. We shared the Blue Jean which again was excellent and not rubbery or dry or soggy but it was a bit too salty for my liking. Chips were good but average. Special sauce is tasty. Loved the brioche, loved the fact that their meat is free range and the beef is grass fed wagyu from Gippsland. Even the salad though minimal seemed fresh. My Uber driver was a bit late but the burgers held up well. I think the pricing is reasonable too, certain burgers are more value for money than others. All in all, would absolutely recommend.
What ever happened to the standard bun? These days it’s all brioche or gluten free. I miss the fish and chip shop burger bun. Everything you guys do is wonderful, I just wish there was a “normal” bread option. I don’t like feeling like my burger is between two croissants.
3.5. Ordered through UberEats (from their Brunswick East branch?) and the burgers were quite tasty. The Young Dude was simple with a great bun and patty. However, $2 for tomato is a bit steep... The Lady Stardust was similarly very good. The wagyu loaded fries (mott the hoople) was great. Overall a very good burger joint.
I’ve ordered from Major Tom’s a few times via UberEats. I always plan to try something different but I just love the Dudeburger! It’s really tasty and a reasonable size. Normally chips don’t travel well - they become cold, soggy and tasteless by the time they reach you. Somehow these chips maintain their crunch even when they’ve lost a bit of their heat. They’re definitely up there as some of the best chips I’ve ever had. Will continue ordering from Major Tom’s and maybe one day I’ll even try a different burger!
I love the burger combos here, so so tasty. Always fresh, hot, crunchy and crispy - even when delivered. Consistently great.
Was nice, there are better burgers in Melb however they have the good chicken it's not greasy, it's fluffy moist asnd chrunchy. The pickles are fantastic too
This is a burger joint that really knows how to make a good tasting burger, full of well balanced flavours..
moment and this place is sitting pretty with a tasty assortment on the menu. It is a Daviv Bowie themed restaurant, with all the menu items paying homage to the music great. You have your usual ingredients (lots of cheese options, bacon, pickles, more bacon, more cheese) but it also has unusual offerings like mac and cheese croquette and deep fried panko crumbed feta as ingredients. There are other non burger items like chips (which were crispy, salty and delicious)
Stumbled across this Burger place dedicated to Bowie. I heard of shrines to people but this insane. Somehow I think The Duke would be smiling. Loud Bowie songs pumping out. Time warp for this old Bowie tragic. Ordered a Dudeburger. Wham Bam thank you mam. I am singing along as I eat.
One of my favourite burger places in the area. Can always count on them for a good burger and chips. Got a takeaway today that came with a surprise halloween candy. What a treat :)
Absolutely the best burger I’ve ever had! I got the Drive In Saturday and absolutely enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place! They also provide vegetarian options :)
