Found this place just by walking by. Very quick service and the food was very good, the view is FANTASTIC. Will definitely come again. Prices are very reasonable and did I mention the view. Friendly wait staff make this a very nice lunch spot.

1/1/2016 Off we went to Manly beach, casual paddle-boarding with some seaside fish and chips was the perfect way to kick off the year!. SYDNEY ROCK OYSTERS. Natural and Kilpatrick. I am sure everyone’s noticed by now I am a huge oyster fan :) Had to try the local ones!!! (Only found out now that Pacific oysters are not native…)
Best fish and chips shop around! Fish and chips, deep fried soft shell crabs and clam chowder are so delicious. The batter is light and crispy. Excellent service too. My all time favorite place to eat.
Fish Shack Manly serves a very nice and fresh fish and chips dish. You could also have a cheaper take away option and enjoy them by the Manly beach.

Beach side fish & chips shack with a feel of days gone by. Simple, good food. I have yet to find a better serve of F'n'C for under $15. Eat in or take it away to eat it at one of the benches on the promenade. I don't know about the other stuff on the menu. Whenever I want to try something else, I find myself ordering the basics again. Never change a winning dish.
We came over to Manly for the day (Tuesday lunchtime). Chose the fish shack purely based on the name - we wanted F&C at the beach. Two staff were on and the place was half to a third full. Setting is nice with a view of beach.
Took a while to be asked in and told where we could sit. Then I had to ask for a menu and to order. Service could have been a bit more attentive.
We order grilled salmon and chips. Quite expensive for a simple dish with no side salad.
However the fish was beautifully cooked and the chips crunchy but fluffy. Fish serve size was small for the price.
Overall a nice place. Owners should ask the staff to be a bit more friendly and attentive.
Slightly apprehensive about leaving a good review after reading an onslaught of recent bad reviews here, but I had a great dining experience at the Fish Shack about a month ago. I had the beer-battered Hoki with tartar and a side salad. Fish ‘n chips were fresh off the fryer, and the service was friendly. Just about anything I could ask for lunch, really. Perhaps I got lucky, but even so, cheers to that.
