Must Try Delicacy, Stir Fry Pad Thai Chicken Noodles are the best and are so addictive and so delicious that one cannot resist!
Hochi Mama offers delicious food and exquisite cocktails.
My personal favourite items on the menu are: the ‘roast duck wonton crisps’, ‘mama’s pad thai’ and the ‘hochi chicken banh bao’.
Unfortunately, I did find the dessert options to be a little underwhelming.
Overall, this restaurant is a must try and a very cute date night spot.
Lovely restaurant with really friendly staff. The food was absolutely incredible and had really good portion sizes. I’m not too good with spice but they were able to accomodate a couple of the dishes for me which was awesome. Definitely coming back! 😊
📍Hochi Mama, Melbourne
Lord knows I waited way too long to eat out again. Legit counted seconds until June 1st. I've been to Hochi Mama about 2 years ago and it was mad proper. Good trendy vibes, dope music, delicious foods and best of all, cheap. So I had a high expectation going in and man, they killed it.
We grabbed Salmon Ceviche, Scallops, Soft Shell Crab Fried Rice, Saigon Curry Crispy Pork Hok, Stir Fry Pork Belly and Mama's Pad Thai - they were ALL SO DAMN DELICIOUS. I honestly think the quality sky rocketted since 2 years ago. Or maybe it's because they just had less tables to manage due to Covid, who knows.
Saigon Curry Crispy Pork Hok ($29) and Mama's Pad Thai ($22) really stood out. I don't know what their secret sauce is but they were all so flavourful and tasty. Pork Hok was juicy and went surprisingly well with its coconut curry sauce. Mama's Pad Thai was probably one of the best pad thais I've had in Melbourne. One thing I really want to point out is that the chefs here really know what they are doing with the maillard reaction. I could literally taste that torchy herby aroma while eating their pad thai and fried rice. Mad proper.
Can't really think of any other place that can top Hochi Mama in terms of price and quality. Definitely worth if you are sharing meals with a group of friends. But FYI I might be a bit biased because I didn't eat anything all day just to fully indulge myself. But just to give you a bit of perspective, my friends also liked them a lot so it should be fine.

Our host Morgan was unreal cool.
Super friendly, not only to us as the customers of the vibrant environment, but also to the unfortunate person without a home to sleep.
So much so, that the guy, after there interaction, gave Morgan the whole box set of the Simpson's series on DVD.
Super cool dude, who's personality compliments the restaurant very well.
Would and will be back
I celebrated my 21st birthday at Hochi Mama last night and the experience was incredible. The food was amazing and the chefs did a great job catering for dietary requirements. Our waiter Bryan went above and beyond the ensure everyone was having a fantastic night. I will definitely be returning soon!!
Bryan was great! Super friendly and deserves a bottle of wine for his efforts :)
Bryan was so helpful and enthusiastic in helping our dear friend celebrate her 21st birthday! Food and service was outstanding. Happy customers :D
Our waiter Bryan was amazing and created great vibes for the evening
Our server Bryan was a delight. He spent just the right amount of time explaining the menu, making us laugh, and being attentive.
The food is very good value especially if you get the share menu for 2. Serving sizes are as per regular menu and very generous.
Currys we’re rich and flavourful.
Only downside was there was the same salad garnish with every meal which became a bit same same when you have four people getting the share menu.
This restaurant was a super surprise. 😮 The vibe is just perfect. The playlist is just too good with great hip hop tunes.😎 The inside is so beautifully decorated and perfectly lit. ✨The atmosphere is really nice. The Asian female waitress was just so warm and welcoming. The food was very flavoursome, the curry super filling. The chicken curry was nicely generous with chicken pieces. Nice looking cocktail menu with a good selection. Highly recommend! 🙏🏼
Loved their set menu deal, it was simply the perfect portion (and price!) for 2. I’d recommend trying their fried chicken (and fried chicken bao!), they were absolutely tasty. Had the beef ribs, soft shell crab sushi rolls, and rice paper rolls as well, but found them to be fairly average. Service was super slow though.
Nice modern Vietnamese restaurant with party vibes. The service is very kind and didn't mind to go through all the trouble of explaining all the dishes to us. The food is very very good and cooked to perfection. Price is actually reasonable, but beware that the feed me menu is way too much food and probably not worth the price. Try having the lamb curry massalan, it was the best dish we had for the night.
Tasty fresh and fast service here. Great upbeat vibe with a nice relaxed ambience.
Went for Feed me deal which was 2 small, 2 large and a side of spring rolls ($42.50 each). So much food that we could of shared with another two people. Friendly service.
What a lovely Vietnamese restaurant with a great interior design. The food was a bit pricey but well worth it. We went with the “FEED ME NOW” option which lets you choose 4 smaller and 4 larger dishes and two sides for $39.50 per person.
My favourite dish would have had to be the salmon sashimi and Southside curry. The flavours are amazing but not overwhelming with perfect levels of spice.
Drinks were also amazing, will definitely come back to try their other dishes.
One of the best find in Melbourne. Reasonable price and really good food. I have to say better than Chin Chin and Rice Paper Scissors. The food is of high quality and tasted good. Portion is huge in comparison with Chin Chin even for entree. Highly recommended.
My family went here on Sunday to celebrate my Dad's birthday and we were impressed! All the food and drinks were delicious. We especially liked the Chinese broccoli and pork belly! If you have an allergy please ensure you tell the staff multiple times. When ordering I was told non of the dishes I picked had nuts only to find out when the food arrived that they do have nuts. This could have ended in a hospital trip if I didn't triple check. The bathrooms were also dirty but that may have been because it was the end of the night.
Great food, great service and great value! We were seated outside which was nice when it was still bright. But when it got dark our table needed light. It was just a bit too dim. Otherwise, everything was great!
