Hands down BEST donut in Melbourne. Chewy on the outside but soft and rich overall. Maple Walnut & Brown Butter donut was my absolute favourite! Such a rich flavour without being too sweet.
Staff are always friendly and always happy to give recommendations. Love the crullers but the donuts are a bit too dense for my liking.
Best treat for a cozy afternoon.
Been here many times. They do have monthly special or festival special which is what I've been waiting and chasing for. From their default donut to speciality donut, always no regret on trying. Love it so much and highly recommend to sweet lover ;)
Maple bacon log- WOW. Dough was soft, fluffy and melted in your mouth, there was the perfect amount of glaze, which was sweet and a true maple flavour, then the bacon was salty crispy but not too chewy. It was handcrafted fresh, and you could definitely tell! The bacon log was a limited special, but If any of there other donuts are of this standard- (which I’m sure they are) this place is a MUST DO!
We also had the Choc peanut butter cake doughnut. It was very well made and presented, but compared to the maple bacon log- it was not my cup of tea. The cake texture was very light and fluffy, didn’t have much flavour and crumbled if you broke it in half. The choc flavour came through with the very rich choc ganache on top, which was nice. It was also topped with peanuts which gave some texture, but the nuts weren’t very crunchy. I usually like cake donuts, so I was surprised it wasn’t mind blowing for me! Very high quality donut I’m sure, but I’ll be sticking to my yeast raised donuts here 😀
Service was fantastic. We didn’t have to wait long to be served, the server explained all the flavours, how they are made and gave recommendations.
Only lost 1 star due to the cake donut and the slightly expensive pricing. (The maple log was $6.50)
Shortstop’s doughnuts may not be cheap but they sure are money well spent. Choose from crispy crullers, airy and soft raised doughnuts or the denser and rich cake doughnuts. Whichever you choose, you will be guaranteed that the texture is second to none.
The flavours are spot on here. Classic flavours such as vanilla bean or cookies and cream will appeal to the masses, or try something different such as the earl grey and rose, or maple walnut and brown butter. Whichever you choose, you won’t be disappointed.

❤️: They had Easter’s specials Hot Cross Donuts. I tried the Cookies & Cream Cake. So delicious. Will have to go back and try all their other ranges as soon as they reopen on Tuesday after Easter holiday!
Tasty donuts which make a good treat. Loved the maple walnut and brown butter the best! The triple match was decent as well and more savoury. The iced coffee was too sweet for our liking.
The donut shop you need to stop by when in the city! We loved the Australian honey and sea salt donut it was drenched in honey syrup. The peaches and cream was filled with with cream and peachy jam. The donuts were large and worth it for $4 each. We will definitely be back here soon.
Love the maple walnut donut! Really soft and tasted great. I like how they serve sparkling water together with the order. Donut goes well with their coffee!
