I cannot fault this place - after having numerous pre-game/pre-concert meals & drinks, I booked The Tippler for my 40th and they have well and truly outdone themselves. The food was amazing (as always) & in abundance, easily catering for my numerous food intolerances & my niece’s many allergies; the wine list & cocktails were fantastic; and the service from staff was exceptional. A big thank you to Gus, Nick, Kyle & Zoe for making everyone’s night one to remember!
Friends reccommended the Tippler and we've since had many a great night there. Awesome atmosphere, delicious food, friendly service and the added edition of some unique artwork! Love this place.
Came here with a couple of friends on a cold rainy Thursday night. Service was great, food was good. Was also $3 Taco night so good if you’re a local. Great local bar if you’re after some snacks and a couple of drinks.
Booked this venue on line for a group of five on Anzac Day. After getting our seat allocation at the G we headed across for lunch. After standing at the bar for ten minutes waiting for service we were shown to our table upstairs, we ordered a round of drinks and the pre football tapas. The craft brews were really good and the tapas dishes were excellent except for the masaman curry as it lacked the spice we expected. Service was excellent as was the upstairs space.
Having dined here at least 3-4 times in the last 12
Months, I've never left disappointed. Always a fan of a restaurant where bookings can be made.
Nice wine list, lovely staff.
My favs : beetroot Arancini, mushroom tortellini, gnocchi and pumpkin salad!
Excellent option for pre-MCG drinks and bites to eat. The footy special (shared by blokes with good appetites) was more than adequate and very yum. The ladies shared a number of small plates and were very satisfied too👍
Went here tonight w a couple of mates for a couple before the footy. It's in a great location right next to the G.
This bar serves a good selection of craft beers and a cider on tap as well as a comprehensive selection of other drinks.
The service was great, and they also serve food here. This place had a really relaxed feel, friendly staff and punters.
This is my new local when a game is on haha.
Odd place with its long, thin, windowless dining room (so thin that people simply standing up to leave blocked the waitress getting through), separate bar/dining area with high tables and stools (would not want to eat there) and function room and garden (neither of which we saw - the first in use, the second too cold!).
European food made to share - very generous portions and styled to cut up/spoon out. Some excellent salads (particularly the roasted cauliflower), fabulous gnocchi and trout. Meat platter to start excellent value at $12 (ordered two for 5 of us - one would have been enough). Only disappointment was the red meat dishes (wagyu beef salad and 250g sirloin) which were just ordinary. Red wines $45 upwards - excellent Shiraz for $48.
Certainly a place to drop by occasionally - generous portions and some definite high points. And bill came to $250 for 5 - and we ate a lot!
The taste of the food were standard, i gv them 5/10, cauliflower salad, steak, sliders, tacos, gnocchi, etc, had better one elsewhere. The cocktail that i ordered, mojito and garden of eden was only okay, not strong enough and the mojito didnt have much taste. But the service was fabulous, we were served by Nick, and he was very friendly patient, attentive, and full of smile, he gave recomendation on whats nice and also brought crackers for our cheese platter for the second time without us asking. I gave this resto extra mark definitely for the service.
I had my 30th birthday dinner at the Tippler & Co and it was the best night I could have hoped for! Gus and the team were the best. We got a set menu and they catered for all our dietary requirements, which is so important to me as a vegetarian. The cheese sliders and the gnocchi were to die for! The food is some of the best in Melbourne and the meat-eaters loved their fare too.
I really appreciated how flexible its was when it came to numbers as well, and to kids.
Also, great drinks and really good prices, especially on a Sunday!
I visited tippler and co this past Friday evening with some friends for a catch up. I found the staff very attentive, friendly and knowledgable about their products. The drinks were a bit of a wait but the bar was busy, and they were worth it! At $10 a cocktail and $2 for oysters this is definitely the place to be after work on a Friday. Dinner was nice, the soft shell crab slider was a stand out for me. Great little bar!
Really enjoyed our evening here. Had a few drinks and lots of small food. All was good, the sliders and chicken and chips. The staff were super lovely and was a good place for a date, catchup or before heading out in the city.
