I love this place, delicious pho for under $13. If you are a vegetarian well maybe you are in a wrong place to me and if the waiter/ waitress keep stick theirs fingers in you meals, will maybe they don't really like you! Lmao!. Anytime I'm in Melbourne I will be stop by. Yummmmy!👍👍

So good we went there both nights of our Melbourne stay. The best Pho since we were in Vietnam last year. Great value, quick service and delicious food. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a taste of Vietnam.

I had been waiting so long for Mekong to open up again after the covid lockdown.

There was a bit of a line but they had their tables safely distant from each other.

Some changes since the lockdown
1. Sits half the number of usual tables
2. Pay first then eat
3. Menu size had substantially decreased
4. Super fast service

What we ordered
1. Spring rolls
2. Vegetarian pho 🍲
3. Pork chop rice
4. Fried chicken

I’m vego so I can’t rate the others but the vego pho was still a 🌟

Some Bunee Loves Food

Craving for pho and got a sliced beef pho noodle soup. Soup tastes exactly as I expected and came out fast. It was especially nice with the hoi son sauce and chilli sauce. I think it satisfied my cravings and I enjoyed it.

Usually a bustling place. Luckily I was there when it was relatively more quiet than usual. Attentive staff, and service was quick. Absolutely loved the rice paper rolls and the beef pho. Portions were also generous. Good place for a decent bowl of pho!

We came across this place by accident one night and have never forgotten it. We had the soups. Yum food, basic decor, efficient friendly staff, very traditional, very very busy. You may have to queue for this one. Well done owners.

Why has it taken me so long to try this place?! Every time I have walked past this joint has been jam packed...now I understand why! The best pho I have tasted(taking into account I have not been to Vietnam!) the broth absolutely delicious, the aroma to die for. Love the bowls of noodles with spring rolls. Just cant wait to return!

Had the classic pho here. It was really good, the broth had a lot of flavour, the meat was tender and noodles were cooked to perfection. The overall blend tastes amazing and I’d recommend trying the food there if you have the chance. It’s not too expensive as well which is a plus.

Great tasting Vietnamese food in the heart of the city! Can’t go wrong with a Pho & some spring rolls. They checked our Vax Cert at the door & ordering is via the contactless app, food & drinks came quite quickly. At $70 to feed a family of 4 lunch, it’s not the cheapest feed in town, but it’s somewhat of an institution & judging by the quality of the food & how well patronised Mekong was I’m not the only one who thinks so.

One of a few shops that still open on Swanston St since I first came to Melbourne a decade ago. I love their grilled chicken, the soup pho is flavourful but not something I'm used to ... but the grilled chicken with lemongrass is soft and so so good. I happened to visit during lockdown and ordered a takeaway and they packed it well too. Please stay awesome!

This was a quick breakfast run on a busy Saturday morning and I dropped by this place which was open early morning compared to other restaurants in the city centre. The food I ordered did not disappoint. Next to my table is a photo of 2 very famous guests! See photo. Will go back again.

At the beginning I was skeptical to come in as the place looks old .My family and I have decided to give it a try yesterday Monday and it is holiday . I was impressed with the service and the food quality and the best Pho so far I have tasted. I nearly finished my bowl which is very huge by the way and I normally would only finished half of it. But this one taste so good. We ordered spring rolls, pork chargrilled, crispy chicken rice and beef pho. We are all very satisfied and would definitely come back. Highly recommended. The price is very reasonable.
