Review Pho Nom - Melbourne

M C
Food is ok, and I think it’s pricey for the amount that is served. There are vegetarian options and service is quick. Small size is $8 and served in a paper cup, and large size is $14 served in a big bowl. I think they are trying to persuade you to get the larger serving indirectly 😂
Natasha M
Staff were friendly. Pho was delicious and the ice tea had the right amount of sweetness. The veg spring rolls tasted a bit uncooked. They need to provide metal forks along with spoons. It is hard to pick the smooth noodles in broth with wooden party spoons.
Thomas Liontis
Pretty solid Bahn Mi here, very filling and full of flavour, the rice paper roll and iced tea was also pretty good, and if you get it apart of a combo the value is fairly solid.
Oscar Evans (Saktoth)
I did not expect this much effort at a lunch counter place. The spring rolls are hand made and freshly fried with big pieces of flavorful pork. The pho is warm and savoury and the meat generous. The vegetables are serve your own so you can put as much vietnamese mint, bean sprouts chilli and sriracha on as you like. The rice paper rolls are good with great variety. The bahn mi was good, but didn't have the warm crunchy baguette of a truly perfect bahn mi, and had a bit too much sauce for me. I like the bread and ingredients to shine, but this is good if you like it saucy. On the whole, really good.
Amanda
Really flavourful banh mi with fresh ingredients. Would have been made better if the meat was warm, but overall a great banh mi. The service is a bit slow and they could benefit from rethinking their workflow, but nothing too bad.
Kim Newland
Crispy chicken banh mi has increased in price and decreased in quality IMO. Chicken tastes blah. Can get better quality and value banh mi elsewhere in the city. I won't be back.

Me and my wife come here everyday for breakfast every morning . All the staff like family and the boss really nice. We have been here for 1 year. We love come here more often .

Consistently great!!!!!!!!!! Rice rolls, banh mi and Pho all incredible and amazing value been here 10 Times today was extra special
The Roze Review
Hands down the best bahn me I have ever eaten and if I could I would have 10 more. So generous with the fillings, the crispy pork was on point and the pate, mayo sweet sauce combo was so great. Perfect amount of salads as well. I will be back for more!!!

Food was pretty basic. Good variety. But the items were pretty overpriced for the quality. I ordered no chilli but they still gave me in chilli in mine. Overall decent but overpriced. Could get better value at Springvale.

Pho broth was bland, felt like it was diluted with water. We ordered the large phos as we wanted to have it in a bowl instead of a tiny cup but even then, they did not provide us with the usual slice of lemon, some fresh chillies and basil leaves. Overpriced and lacking in taste. There are way better options elsewhere.

For once, I forgot to take pictures. Ordered 4 bowls of pho and iced tea. The pho soup base was slightly sweet but very heartwarming. The chicken slices were quite generous and tasted great. Iced tea was reasonably priced at $2.5 as well. You would be paying around $15-20 per person with drinks which is quite reasonable for a shopping mall food. Good for quick meals

3.5/5 for the beef pho
Pros: quality ingredients, clean and tasty broth
Cons; pricey at $14, have to sit in a busy shopping centre walkway
Affogato Addiction
Great for ordering for a large group.

Rice paper rolls (could choose what type of rolls you get) for ok for 14-15 people $88 for 48 half size.

Chicken slaw, $27, was not as good value.

Decent bowl of pho and it's convenient for anyone working in central Melbourne CBD. I wish there was more fillings for the price I paid but it's still good for a quick pick me up.
Willtravelforfood17
I ordered the beef pho from here. The soup was light and had the subtle taste of beef. The noodles were soft and silky and the beef was thinly sliced and was just cooked through when the hot soup hit it. The noodles were pleasant to eat but I would have preferred a punchier, more flavourful broth to carry the noodles which don’t have flavour. Service was friendly and quick.

Grilled lemongrass chicken rice, all I've got to say is yummmmmm~ the chicken was charred to perfection, it was still moist on the inside c: the sauce gave it a bit of a sweet and spicy kick to it which was enjoyable 😚

Polite customer service.
Been here several times now.
One of my favourite takeaways in the Emporium.
Definitely one of the best Rice paper rolls in the CBD.
Lemongrass Chicken definitely a favourite

Food:
- Pho Bo Saigon: contains a variety of toppings. I enjoyed most of them except for the sliced rare beef. It was thinly sliced but somehow really chewy. The broth had very beefy flavour but I think it's a bit lighter than other restaurants.
- Traditional pork + pate baguette: simple and classic baguette. Nothing too impressive or different compared to other restaurants for this one.

Price: I think the price for the baguette was good but kinda so-so with the noodle soup because I was a little disappointed at the chewy beef.

Service: I ordered takeaway and was pleasantly surprised at how neatly they packed the food.

We enjoy coming to this quiet, clean and spacious Vietnamese food outlet at the basement of the Emporium for their delicious choices. They serve nice big bowls of heartwarming pho but we decided to try something else on their menu today.
The grilled lemongrass chicken with spring rolls was presented well and tasted even better. Loved the crispy spring rolls and well seasoned chicken with just the right amount of char.
The Bun Cha Ca Hanoi Fish was well fried and served on a bed of fresh salad.
So while their pho is great, do consider trying their other offerings.
Dare I say it?......Pho Nom is pho-nomenal!
Sinfully Delicious
For a quick tasty and healthy meal I recommend this place. The lemongrass chicken bun is stock standard. Good portion size and price. My spring rolls was slightly burnt and dry however the chicken had good flavour which is why I’m rating it 3.5 out of 5.
Anisha
I had the mushrooms and tofu pho and it was delicious. I love their silken tofu and choice of mushrooms in the pho. I found it tasted best with lots of lemon and some basil. I wish their service was a little faster but that won’t stop me from going back.
Valerie
If you want a break from the usual chaotic atmosphere of pho restaurants, I would highly recommend Pho Nom.

Pho Nom is my go-to place for quick and delicious pho - my usual order is the Pho Beef Saigon which includes brisket, beef slices and meat ball. The service is usually quite quick since you can receive your dish in about 5-7 minutes. It is a quick and cheap lunch option located at the bottom of Emporium.
Emily
Decent banh mi in the quieter lower level of Emporium. I got the $13.50 combo of banh mi + rice paper roll + iced tea. Would skip the rice paper roll next time as it's 75% vermicelli and only one slice of meat + lettuce.

The banh mi was quite good with crunchy but soft roll. Fillings were a bit meh - too much hoisin to overpower the tastes. Also mostly carrot in the salad. Crispy pork belly was quite good but didn't get many crisp bits and the meat was tough in parts.
J-acqui
The pho is nearly as good as Footscray minus the MSG! Pretty sure it's the only place in the city that serves authentic pho, no MSG is a bonus! I love the self serve condiments!

update: the above review refers to the pho bo (beef pho). Tonight I had the mushroom pho and it was really underwhelming. The broth was sweet and not salty enough. It was definitely lacking which is disappointing. It was also not hot enough (I have experienced this a number of times though) and they got rid of the self serve pho condiments. I will return for the beef pho but would not recommend the mushroom pho. If you're vegetarian maybe go for a banh mi or rice paper rolls instead

Where possible, I always go for pho dac biet (special pho) when trying a Vietnamese place for the first time. Sort of like a measuring stick - if the pho is good, the rest should be. The meat was slightly gamey, while the broth itself was a little thin and lacked some flavour. It went okay.
DEM
I finally had a chance to sit in peace and try the pho here. I had a late lunch here today at around 2pm and I ordered the mushroom and tofu pho. I am confused because I thought where were my noodles? Did I need to ask for them?
Custardbun
I love Pho Nom - it is on my regular lunch list. I love how they cater for those who need to order their pho to go - obviously a lot of thought has been put into ensuring the customer can still enjoy their pho at their desk. I'm also a big fan of the Ha Ca Hanoi fish (just how I remembered it from Hanoi) and the chicken ribs.
Tinmans Treats
Pho is plentiful in the CBD and competitive. Sometimes you feel like having pho in a less loud environment. Considering it's in a shopping mall, albeit a very fancy one, they've done their best to make it look less clinical. About the pho, decent broth, tasty noodles. What i like about this place over regular pho places is that there's a commmunal condiments station. I dont eat all the beanshoots and mint so i feel this minimises waste. Your paying slightly more because its the emporium but its a good lunch option.

Me and my gf always order their rice dishes and never got disappointed, especially the pork belly with rice, it’s god like! Consistency and deliciousness is the key! Love it!
Zel Junk
Ordered a Pho Dac Biet and the service was fast. Sadly, the broth was bad and the noodles were offensively soggy. On the bright side, you get to add as much herbs and bean sprouts in your bowl. Extra star for that perk.

A few weeks ago I went there for a late lunch. It was around 2pm on a weekday, not too busy.

I ordered the Pho Bo Hanoi (sliced rare beef pho) - to be honest I was quite disappointed. I've been to many pho restaurants before, by comparison, the beef at Pho Nom was not rare at all. When mine was served, the beef was almost well done, nothing like the promo photo on the Pho Nom official site (but hey, we all know it's a bit like Tinder...food never comes out looking like it does in promo photos).

Taste was OK, a bit bland. They do provide sliced chili, lime wedges, etc you can add to your pho. But I feel that if the pho itself has enough flavours, I normally wouldn't bother with additional condiments.

Overall it was a bit meh. Having said that, I had tried their rice paper rolls before and they aren't too bad. I would rather spend the same amount of money on the rice paper rolls than their pho.

I used to frequent this place all the time during my lunch breaks of after my shifts as their food is consistently good and comes our fairly quickly. It's a no brainer as to why it is crowded and serving queues. I've tried the rice paper rolls to banh mi to pho but my favourite order is always the lemon iced tea and grilled lemongrass on rice. You can't beat it, it's so juicy and tender and fills you up just nice. Also can't beat a $2.50 tea!

Came here with workmates for lunch on Tuesday afternoon. This has been our regular spot for bun and pho fix. Service is efficient and quick. The Cha Ca Hanoi fish and Crispy Pork Belly buns are my favorites. The fish is full of flavor and the pork is so tender. Accessible with easy to find. Definitely worth coming back.
Split The Bill
Needed a fix of pho and it delivered. Sure you can get cheaper but these guys r working the corporate and shopping crowd very well. They run an efficient and quick service. Considering it's in the Emporium its managed to keep its price reasobable. Probably top 5 pho in the CBD at the moment.

PS. A proper pho place has complimentary tea in a flask and non disposable chopsticks these aren't deal breakers but pho connoisseurs will wonder where the tea at haha.
Fiona
I used to like getting a bun noodle salad bowl here regularly but it's really gone down in the last 6 months. For a start the portions have significantly reduced, 50% of said portion is salad mix (I'm talking like supermarket salad mix, who wants spinach and radicchio in a noodle bowl?), spring rolls have a weird floury texture, teeny tiny amount of herbs (the last time I went I only found 2 leaves of mint in the whole bowl...) and nuoc mam was just straight fish sauce. Won't waste my money again. Pho is decent though....
Aki
Self-serve fast food eatery serving reasonably priced, simple and honest food! Love a chicken pho and an iced lemon tea on a hot summer day!
Hello. Imnikki
We tend to stick to Vietnamese food when ordering delivery, as we find that they tend to travel well. Pho Nom is no exception to this. All 3 dishes arrived still warm and fresh. Taste-wise, nothing spectacular, merely a simple feed that satisfied our tummy.

The braised pork belly com had a tad too much veggies as fillers, and so did the grilled chicken vermicelli salad. The pork belly were mostly fat so I personally didn’t like that. The baguette for the banh mi was soft and crusty; definitely the best out of the 3.
Mikki
Easy quick fix in Emporium, located lower ground. - Lemon grass chicken and springroll noodle salad. I just wish it has a bit more veggie and a slightly bigger portion. Lemon grass grilled chicken and springroll taste really great.
Jayde
Banh mi- pork belly is beautiful and there is good flavour. However, way too much carrot and the bread needs to be improved.
Pho is pretty decent.
The service leaves a lot to be desired. I asked if it would be possible to add lettuce to my banh mi to which the man said " sorry, my boss won't let me change the recipe." There was lettuce ready right behind him. When I told him this he didn't care. Never heard anything more ridiculous- open a food place to make your customers happy not to retain some pretentious sense of what is "traditional" Vietnamese food. Probably won't be back when there are other places that will happily cater for me.
The Dear Luncher
If you are into extra meat on dishes like Your Dear Luncher is, then note how you can request extra rare beef in the already excellent rare beef salad that Pho Nom create. The beef in this salad is always quality. The rare-ness delivers outstanding taste, the dressing is loaded with chilli. A real when in doubt, go-to meal if you're going through a salad phase. Only around $8 - great value.
Got_2_lunch
Love me some crispy roast pork and not every place has it. Bahn mi was my style (no pate) although was a lot of carrot and bun. First time I had the fresh chilli and it was daaaamn hot!
NoCapsicumPlease
This shop’s ambience is not really great as it is located inside a mall. “Pho” is close to authenticity and flavourful. You can add bean sprouts and basil as much as you like. I was educated that the broth was msg-free

#QuickFix #InCBD
No. of Visit: 6
When prowling the CBD, hungry, and didn't have much time on hand, I usually straight away opt for the Braised Pork w/ Fried Egg on Rice here. It just goes so well with their Lychee or Apple Cider.

It's not written on menu but you can also add a few dollars to top more rice or extra pork meat, given you're starving in the moment. Real flexible!
Hangry Horace
Ordered the beef pho and pork springs rolls. The beef was nice and tender and the soup was flavourful but I wished the soup was piping hot. The pork spring rolls on the other hand were so miserably tiny. I will return for the pho and skip the spring rolls.
Flying Forward
Points for: crusty, soft baguettes
Dine Time: weekday lunch

Wasn't disappointed with the Saigon Breakfast Banh Mi. One of the most important aspects of a good banh mi is the baguette itself, which has a nice crust, but pillowy soft inside. Fillings can get creative these days, but pate is a must, which is slathered on. The wagyu steak is freshly grilled and eggs fried just until the yolk is still runny. Pickles give everything a freshness and brightness. Such a perfect combo!
LittleM
Tried the pho bo saigon here for a late lunch. It's a counter order, and they serve the food relatively quick. It's self service for the toppings like beansprouts, mint and other condiments which is nice. I found the serving smaller than what other Vietnamese restaurant offers and the broth not as intense in flavour as those in Springvale or Footacray. The price of the dish is also more expensive than normal, but kind of expected since it's in Emporium.

LIT!: nom nom nom! been here so many times and tried most of their menu now. Yesterday I tried their pork belly with egg on rice. Soo much flavour runs through the dish. The egg has a runny yolk in the centre, just how I like it. Come for the best Viet restaurant in the city!

NOT SO LIT!: what's not to love!

Thanks for having us! X

Warning! Incoming pho snob review. Didn't have high expectations nor did I have low expectations, I just hoped for something decent to warm me up on the last days of winter. Unfortunately it was a major let down. Let me break it down into categories:
* Broth - the core to any bowl of pho, this was salty and lacked beef flavour complexity. Not overly enjoyable and was tempted to drown it in the sauces provided.
* Noodles - decent, but I've had silkier rice noodles.
* Meat - since I got their pho bo saigon, I got a variety of meats, unfortunately they were stingy with it. Meatballs were standard if not small, brisket was average, sliced beef was tough and dry (like really tough).
* Condiments - standard basil, bean sprouts, chilli and lemon in a help yourself station for pho eaters. Chilli was not spicy. Did not see pickled onions. Also standard sauces at the tables, I've had better chilli oil.
* Value for money - at $13.90 this is the most expensive bowl of pho I've had in Australia. Comparatively the portions here are the small size if not smaller than your usual pho establishment in Springvale or Richmond, that of which you'd be expected to pay around the $9 to $10 mark. Granted, this is in the CBD. I'd be less salty if the pho here was good but it was anything but.
MVP
Decent clean pho, obviously not as good when I was in Ho Chi Minh but you can bet the pho Nom is pretty light and clean which is good.

I'm not gonna lie tho make sure you bring him, or lysterine after eating here coz let me tell you, if you go on a date here you might be hesitant to pash pash for reals. 💕
Lscig1980
Yummy & high quality ingredients to make the banh mi- crispy bread, soft in the middle 😄 a bit pricey but a great selection of beer & cider including the lychee flavoured one in pic . Good service, condiments handy on each table too!

A nice place for vietnamese food. Tried the pho with brisket, beef balls and sliced beef. The broth lacked flavour and wasnt aromatic, meat was overcooked though the brisket was good. Portion wise, a small is very filling. The salt abd pepper ribs with rice was amazing. Flavoursome, crispy and the rice was topped with some chilli and shallots that mixed well with the ribs. Staff were friendly and enough seats.
Iggy
Ordered the pho with chicken and beef. It's so delicious, it is on par with the ones you get from Richmond or Footscray. The soup is light and tasty, the noodle and the meat are enough quantity. The only problem is finding seats during lunch time due to its location in the lower ground foodcourt of emporium, but they do have a small nook table that can fit 5 people. Price wise is acceptable due to its location (higher than Richmond and Footscray but understandable due to having to pay higher rent).

Working on Bourke street mall, the quickest and most convenient place to eat is pho nom. Never really realised how rude the staff were until I ordered a banh mi and went back to work to realise that the crispy chicken inside was burnt and black in colour. As it was too late to go back, I decided to just throw it out. That was almost 4 months ago. Anyways so I decided to give them another chance a couple of days ago. Well, I went up to the counter and ordered the same thing, and I asked the guy at the counter to please make sure they don't burn the chicken like last time, and his response? "Maybe you shouldn't have ordered crispy chicken. Try lemon grass." And proceeds to change my order on the system. At that point I had to explain myself like I was on some quiz show as to why I believe I deserve the crispy chicken over lemongrass. So anyways he changes it, starts talking to the cook who rolls their eyes and they both have a good old chuckle. Maybe don't do that. It's rude and highly unprofessional. I hope you read my review Pho Nom!

Great Pho on a cold Melbourne day. Warms your soul with deliciousness. Awesome pick your own condiments of spicy chillis, bean sprouts, fresh herbs and other added flavors on every table, to create your perfect taste. Good compact menu, price and overall atmosphere.

Perhaps I'm not a fan of their fusion or alternate sauce for the vermicelli salad, so I asked for the traditional fish sauce for it (it only made sense to me since I was craving Vietnamese food) The waitress was very kind to accomodate me but the lady in the kitchen was quite abrupt and rude to the waitress in front of me, saying (quote) "there's already sauces in the salad... why does she want more?! " and went on to kick up a fuss with the waitress.Although she was talking to the waitress, I knew her comments were directed at me. It made me feel really uncomfortable, over a bit of fish sauce. I don't think it was wrong for me to ask for the fish sauce that traditionally goes with the vermicelli salad. If it was specified in the menu that alternate sauce were added, or if customer can select what sauce they want (they do that for their rice paper rolls which are awesome!) that would've cleared any confusion or awkwardness around this. That being said, I am now less inclined to dine in future.

The shop located at emporium shopping centre , Vietnamese food , order bun crispy pork , it's really nice and very tasty . The price only 11aud reasonable and taste good .

An oasis of healthy food in a desert of deep fried shallow fried pan fried packaged stuff. Live food not processed. Very pleasant staff...music for younger ears. cảm ơn bạn

Pho is nice and light, great takeaway packaging as well.rice paper rolls are the best I have had so far!! I ve tried all the different flavors I reckon crispy pork is the best! MUST TRY!! Service is okay even though sometimes had to wait a bit during rush lunch hours. BTW it's a very clean and neat pho restaurant as well. The food itself there just keep making me go back again and again.

Went there on Mother's Day (it was my idea!) I was really surprised how good the food was for not being in a restaurant. We ordered pho shredded chicken, roast banh Minhx2, salad and lemon ice tea. The pho was a outstanding. The flavours were fresh and had a good balance of seasoning .
Bopnbeep
For a city pho spot, Pho Nom almost hits the mark however I did find the broth to be lacking in depth of flavour, the noodles were overcooked and the portion is quite small. Does not compare to Footscray offerings but it's still decent. Service is hasty and prompt. The beansprouts, mint and limes are self service which I liked.
The Melbourne Fruiterer
Service was super quick
Tasty broth ( have had nicer )
Noodles were way over cooked
Toppings were nice and fresh , next time I would pick a different meat in it as I wasn't a fan of the chicken
World Eats Food
What I like about coming here is ordering the Pho Bo Wagyu (beef wagyu) and it's really good! Fatty goodness. I always get it with a side of lemon iced tea. I tried the braised pork belly with rice and that was pretty yum too. Wagyu beef Pho is my go to.
Trang Pham
I tried the rice paper roll and pho. The rice paper was too hard. Pho was ok but not special. We don't have a variety of choices from the menu.
SB
For a foodcourt outlet, this has got to be the most flavourful pho I have had! We got the beef and chicken pho and they were both good. Definitely got our pho fix after a good shopping spree.
Bethan Victoria
I went here today for a quick lunch. I had the tofu banh mi and it was incredibly tasty and reasonably priced. The baguette was perfectly crunchy, the salad was fresh and there was just the right amount of chilli on it. I recommend putting some of the hoisin sauce on that's provided on the table too. The only downside is that it was very hard for find a seat at lunchtime because it's so popular.
Caitlin Monnery
Really tasty, filling and fresh vegetarian pho with lots of veggies and tofu plus all the right condiments that you help yourself to. Huge portion for the price as well.
Emily Vassilakis
The worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. I ordered an iced coffee and the cup is half empty. I asked the, to top it up and they said that's the size the coffee is. I said it seems a little tight and went and sat down to drink it. The woman (who I assume is the owner) came up behind me, took my coffee off me and handed me my money back. I said it's fine and that I was drinking it and she said I couldn't have it and walked off! I don't care how good your food is I won't be going back. Considering I had paid for the coffee, I'm pretty sure taking it back without my permission amounts to theft... It's actually ridiculous that you treat your customers this way. No matter how good the food is, your business will flounder if you don't work on your customer service.
Ramieleatsshootsandleaves
Got my pho fix - so grateful there's a place in cbd that's open 10-10:30 (most Asian brunch/lunch places around are open 11-12pm, and I had cravings, aaand also had work at 12pm. An awkward hungry position to be in). Also grateful the price for city pho is ok too, and eftpos available!
Jasmi
The pho and banh mi are some of the best in Melbourne. Yes, thats right, it compares and is even better than what you get on Victoria St or in Footscray. It's better than most of the pho I ate in Vietnam. Fresh, clean, delicious broth.

Rice paper rolls are really average, would not recommend. That pho tho - delicious.

General ambience is not so great, being in a shopping center, but the food quality compensates for this - you will be too busy slurping those noodles to notice.
Food Lover
One of the nicest pho's I've ever eaten !! I had the mushroom and tofu and it was excellent, heaps of toppings available. Tofu was nice and soft
Cynthia Giang
Grabbed the lemongrass bun - not as cheap as Springvale but still fairly decently priced. Service was nice and quick. The dish itself was nice, although flavours didn't hit as high as other Vietnamese eateries/ home cooking.
MandyToorak
Big fan. Have only really had the rice paper rolls because they are so cheap and good value and easy to eat when you are hurried shopping. RECOMMEND THEM! Have tried absolutely every flavour and can't pick a favourite. The bigger meals look delicious too. Don't miss this place for the upper level food court (which isn't always as good of a choice as you think it may be)
Kimberley Shadbolt
Love the salads at Pho Nom. So tasty and fresh! The pork & prawn salad is awesome. Good value and portion sizes and service is quick and friendly. Definitely recommend for quick fresh food on the go.

I love pho nom! I've been eating there for a couple years now, I take all my friends there. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food. Very popular - so sometimes you'll have to share tables/might struggle to find seating, also a tad tad bit overpriced (compared to other pho places - I'm also a student) but great, fast service, buffet style condiments: lemons, mint, chilli, sauces etc. are really great.

Favourites: beef and/or chicken pho with lemon ice tea.
Quynh To Truong
We was waite for haft an hour for only 2 rice paper rolls but nothing. I have to come and ask them. They said its was sold out. I wait for nothing. Waste half an hour of my life.

"PHO? IT'S FUR not FOE"

Yes we love Pho Nom. What a GREAT NAME, hey?

Sensational Pork Rolls. Crispy baguette. Generous Pork & Chicken. Nice lemongrass flavor.

Why not FIVE rating? The ingredients were a tad cool.

This Whip asked for heaps of chili "TRY TO KILL ME!" and they put HEAPS IN. Probably could have been a tad hotter in chili heat.

Great venue. Excellent service. Clean venue and kitchen.
La Ola Es Mia Cocina.
Sadly I was left a little disappointed with the pho here.
It's good, but not as good as I hoped for as I am a true pho lover. To be honest was a little let down by the flavour.
The service was great as well as the selection I must admit though.

Been to Pho Nom a few nights ago based on recommendation from a friend. Got there a bit late, placed order, cashier took money etc... Got our food, went to add condiments, not any left, c'm if you took our money, leave some out for us. Started eating, the pho was good, did not get the MSG hit like other pho places and was about to forget about the condiments thing then this. I noticed a guy behind the counter has serious hayfever and was sneezing. I saw him use his hand to cover his nose, even picked his nose. He did not wash his hands before preparing food for others. I stopped eating and wanted to throw up. If you don't have a hygiene procedure, then don't have an open kitchen as others can see. NEVER go back again and told my friends not to go there

The best vegetarian pho in town! The staff are always so attentive and friendly, would definitely recommend. Will be back soon + their takeaway container situation is adorable as hell!!
Chuhong Wu
the soup is too bland for me...I don't like it...the beef is fresh, service is quick.tho, u don't hv to wait, that's the good point, but I won't recommend the pho here

The best pho I have had in Melb. Especially good for grab some food during shopping break. the chili sauce it provided is fabulous. definitely will come again.
Brunny Girl
The chicken Pho Is pretty good. I like being able to help myself to bean sprouts , fresh chili and mint. Good for a quick meal.Large and interesting assortment of rice paper rolls - perhaps next time.
Lalita Saiprania De Palma
Horrible service. Only 4 slices of beef in one bowl. For real?!?!?! Boooooooo I'm definitely not coming back... it's a shame... all these people eating here thinking that this is good standard. No it's not. It's bad. It's really bad
Ivy Park
Major love for their Crispy Roast Pork Belly Bahn Mi. The pork belly is really crispy and juicy, combined with their house made sauce (taste like pecking duck sauce to me) and veggies (daikon, carrot, cucumber, green onion, coriander leaves). The size is just nice. Some other days I'd go with the classic Pho Hanoi.
Misslittlehsu
I recommend all my friends to try this place. I love everything from here. But it will be much better people from kitchen wear gloves for hygiene. I am a regular customer and I am a bit disappointed for chicken ribs for sometimes as I have been served not a fresh one for a couple of times.
Mira Surjadi
Modern flair of Vietnamese restaurant but still maintaining its original taste and even make it better yet healthier because of the fresh ingredients used. The banh mi is so good here. Be prepared to queue during lunch time on weekdays.

Pho Nom serves up delicious Vietnamese pho, banh mi and rice paper rolls. A unique aspect to Pho Nom is that in their pho bo, the beef bones and some of the meats come direct from Warialda Belted Galloway Beef and not factory farmed meat. Making the pho extra delicious! Totally love the broth and perfect for a rainy day.
Rainiest
Hasn't disappointed yet, I always go for the chicken phone and would always go back for their yum soup base. It's one of the best phos I've tried in the cbd. I love how I get to put as many sprouts as possible in it. I always add chilli sauce as I like to have it spicy. Tried their rice paper rolls, fresh. Overall, good 👌

PHO.NOM.inal! The best pho I've had outside of S.E Asia. Fast and friendly service. each and every bowl packed full of flavour. Such good value for money, prepare to roll yourself out the door with a full belly!

Delicious pho, I had the beef. Only $11.90 and packed full of flavour. My friend had the chicken pho and said it was just as good. Plenty of seating and can be accessed from walking through Myer basement or from usual Emporium entrances. Will be coming back!

First time to try Pho in Pho Nom. Compared with other Pho restaurants, you don't have much choice to choose. I choose special chicken. The good thing is you can choose the bean sprout , chili and mint by yourself. The stock is quite and clean. I haven't tried the roll. Maybe next time

So delicious and fresh! Great place to stop for lunch or a quick bite on the go.
Must try:
Chicken Pho
Vietnamese chicken coleslaw
Rice paper rolls
Vietnamese ice coffee
The broth is so clear and tasty. The chicken is juicy and delicious, using white meat. No yucky bits!
Service is super quick and seating is easy as they have their own section for their patrons.
It's fast food but super healthy and fresh!

Every time I come to Melbourne I come to this place. The food is Phonomenal! The crispy port in the Bahn mi is delicious and the service is so fast considering the rush they get at lunch!

Yes yes yes yes yes. Such good pho found in Emporium. The stock is something special, full of flavour with lots of depth. The meat was cooked raw and cooked by the stock. I also loved the ability to add our own items into the stock to out taste, loads of Vietnamese mint, chili and bean shoots were added to mine. I can also recommend the rice paper rolls. I wish there was one close to me.

I love Pho....it's cheap and tasty. I'm trying to find the perfect pho in the city but yet to find it. Pho Num comes close. Clean setting and better than average pho.
Queen Of Food
Delicious and refreshing Vietnamese food. I love their rice paper rolls and the crispy veg Spring roll bun. These are delicious and worth a try! I've had the mushroom and tofu pho but thought it needed more flavour. I think they should make more quantities of rice paper rolls throughout the day as I've been there a few times where they have sold out of a lot of things and it's disappointing.

Slurp! Love the pho! Tasty broth and always the perfect amount of noodles and meat. Wonderfully tummy warming when outside turns grey and rainy

Pho Nom is a trendy little Vietnamese eatery sitting in the Emporium and designed with consideration of the food court concept perfectly. The display cabinets show pre-made rice paper rolls for shoppers on the go and the self serve beanspouts and condiments that normally accompany pho is readily accessible to diners at the counter.

There is a Bahn Mi counter and made to order at the very front.

The rice paper rolls offered were interesting and with the times. A vegetarian one featuring crispy tofu and mushrooms were gluten friendly and more decadent offering such as Citrus cured rare salmon or the Crispy pork belly were hard to go past.

The Crispy pork belly roll ($3.70) featured a strip of pork belly with the all important crackling still crispy and no short cuts were taken with a healthy amount of vermecelli, mint and lettuce but missing beanshoots. Usually the roll itself is bland leaving the flavour and seasoning to the Hoisin Sauce anf chilli.

The grilled lemongrass chicken had more flavour and enhanced the Vietnamese feel of the dish although it was also not a traditional ingredient used for the rice paper rolls.

Pho Nom has fresh simple food, well done, served fast, in a cool corner of the LG food hall in Emporium, and the staff is quite friendly.

There were so many fresh Vietnamese paper rolls that I wanted to try everything, but the piece being 3 bucks, I decided just to try just one, the chicken lemongrass roll. It was lovely and satisfying, but I couldn't find the flavour of the lemongrass in my palate.

I have also tried their Wagyu Pho and I liked it. The broth was clean and flavoursome, and the meat (very fresh) is served raw aside so you can add it when you want, depending on weather you want it rare, medium rare or well done. Overall a lovely pho. I missed a bit of more veggies in the soup so it was a bit more earthy and more tasty and the noodles were a bit overcooked.

I love the fact they had young coconut juice served directly from the coconut, not bottled up. I am a fan of those.

I'll be back.
Just Your Regular Local
A must stop when visiting emporium.
Very fresh ingredients and tasty dishes at an extremely resonance price.
Always have friendly staff who are willing to help and go out of their way.

Will always go back for more!

Fresh Vietnamese with a modern twist. I love that you can add your own bean sprouts, basil and lemon to your pho and that all the ingredients are fresh and wholesome. I had the chicken pho with shredded chicken - a perfect winter pick-me-up. Quick and friendly service is also a bonus!
