The staff are fantastic, and coffees are made quickly even though this place gets super busy. The food is always great too, with some really awesome choices. I can never resist a cake or two, or one of the delicious pastries from the beautiful display. Hard Pressed has a great reputation in this part of town, and the constant stream of happy customers is evidence of that.
I absolutely loved this place! The service was just amazing and I love the playfulness of the menu (talking about surcharges and things in funny ways that really show their personality!) a cute little place with great food for a good price! After getting my fill of the cafes near my home in Abbotsford, I decided to give East Melbourne a try and discovered Hard Pressed. While I've never eaten there, I can confidently stand behind the incredible soy flat whites I ordered on a weekly basis. Great coffee with generous serve sizes! I had the croquettes with lemon dill coleslaw which was heaven, especially with the addition of bacon. My partner chose the eggs benny which was solid, but he definitely had a bit of food envy. Cheeky day off work meant we could go midweek, so it was quiet and the service was great! Will definitely return to see how they stack up when things get busier!
