Review Little Collins Street Kitchen - Melbourne

Jimmy LEE
This Little Collins St Kitchen has changed since someday before after COVID19. Dine-in menu for dinner is now pretty simpler as there is no longer fancy buffet run for dinner, nevertheless quality of shucked oysters with caviars is pretty good and worth paying for. Wagyu hamburger for the lunch menu was good and worth paying for as it was still better quality than Hungry Jack. Coffee in this hotel is not worth paying for as coffee beans do not look fresh nor aromatic flavor. Downside is; 1. This restaurant and cafe does not have local beers(Melbourne one) 2. A glass of Moet Champagne costs $24, while there was no refreshing bubbles left in a glass. 3. The worst part is that staffs in the bar has no idea why patrons and guests are paying for $24 in the bar instead of buying this bottle of Champagne $60 in the bottle-shop. And they insisted that freshness of Champagne is still good although a bottle was opened for a day, maybe morning or afternoon they do not remember anything. Overall I was satisfied with cook in this restaurant, but not recommended for Bar and dinner if you may look for better and quality of food and unless staying at this Hotel including breakfast is a package option. There are plenty of better restaurants near this hotel.

Went there with 3 friends for a Saturday seafood buffet with our Groupon vouchers. Only had 2 staffs on the floor serving everyone. Staffs kept forgetting to clear our tables (as we had oyster and prawn shells in bowls) or bring us water. To be honest it was not their fault because I think the place was understaffed. Towards the end when it was quieter, staffs were really nice to tell us that the buffet was coming to an end and we should grab our desserts. Food wise I think the crab didn’t taste too fresh but everything else was great.

Staff and manager were friendly and attentive. Apart from this, nothing impressive. Very disappointing on the quality of food indeed. As for seafood, prawns, mussels, poached and smoke salmon, crabs, scallops and oysters. For seafood lovers, the tastebuds would have been satisfied. We found the oysters had a unique aftertaste and asked the management about its origin. As adviced, they were sourced from south Australia and in summer time they had some bitterness that would not be very welcoming to the diners. We were confused by the comments. Aren't the management be serving food on par with customers' expectations? Hot food items included lamb, chicken, duck, pork and beef. A bit overcooked and dried. The sauteed beef was the only highlight. Meat lovers would be very disappointed. Dessert and salad bars were very average too.

I was reading all the reviews online and hesitated to make a booking for my wedding party. I’m glad I decided to try for myself. First the service was amazing! I booked in advanced and pre-ordered a la carte menu. It was a breeze dealing with all their staffs. They communicated to each other well so I didn’t have to explain to every single one of them every time I contacted them. They were able to accommodate my request in advanced to arrive at 11.30, which would be earlier than their usual lunch hours at 12 pm to have refreshments. I was originally told that we could wait at the lounge seating at the front of the restaurant, which was fine but people would be walking around us. Again, I wasn’t fuzzy about this. But when we arrived today very early at 11 am, we were seated in a very private area that was reserved for our party next to the bar on those comfortable chairs. Unexpected and wonderful experience! It was intimate space and away from all the restaurant patrons. For refreshments, we had coffee and tea with those Buttermilk Fried Chicken sliders and Baked Camembert with herb and garlic butter along with toast. Those were great and such a hit with all my guests. When we were seated at 12 for lunch, we were well taken care by staffs. Alison was knowledgeable with the wine selection. Love the Australian sparkling wine she recommended. When the food arrived, the portion was not at all what I expected. It was huge portion. Calamari was tender. Mushroom risotto was very good according to my husband. I had salmon for entree. Perfectly cooked with red curry butter sauce to spice it up. It’s not spicy but definitely something different that I would order again. The steak was beautiful and everyone enjoyed the meal. I particularly love my strawberry macaron! Delicious and fresh to clean my palette after the fish. The dark chocolate hazelnut fondant was nice and warm. The richness of chocolate was satisfying especially to go with rum raisin ice cream. Overall excellent service and amazing food. Definitely memorable experience for our special day. I will recommend to anyone looking for cosy and comfortable ambience with great food and five-star service.

Spend $89 on Groupon to eat their weekend seafood buffet for 2. Great value for money. I was lucky because my reservation was dated on the day where they have Indonesian Buffet too. Amazing experience

A nice little restaurant located in the Melbourne Sheraton Hotel. The food dishes were delicious, but I would like to see more seafood options. The seafood quality was fresh and delicious though. The desserts were amazing!! That was my favourite part of the dining experience.

I went here with my wife for our wedding anniversary🥳 We absolutely loved the seafood buffet😍🤩🎉 They’ve got 🦐🦀🐟🍣🐚 and all of them were delicious🙆🏻‍♂️👍👍 When you purchase through Groupon they give you a free glass of wine or beer or juice for each person🍾🥂🍻 And don’t forget to try their deserts🍮🍦🎂🍧 해산물 뷔페 쥑여줘요~

Came here on a Cudo. Have been here twice now and on both occasions have loved the quality of the seafood. Albeit with minimal hot food selection. As buffets go if you want good oysters and prawns this is the right place. But at full price it may not meet expectation. I also quite like the salad bar. Got quite alot of different things compared to other buffets. There was this pulled pork with pickled cauliflower? again the amount of overall selection is not great but what they do put on is quality..

I had dinner here with my partner for our Anniversary and absolutely loved the sea food meal!! 😍💕 very delicious and worth the price 👏🏻

Surprised by this as most hotel restaurants are merely adequate. We had the salmon with prawn and it was so tasty that we asked for extra bread to sop up that lovely sauce. Salmon was cooked to perfection and was rather large. The service was exceptional for Australia. A fine wine list added to our delight. Very quiet. This was one of our better dining experiences in Australia.

*2.5*<br/><br/>Came here for the seafood buffet dnner with the voucher on weekdays and the place was packed. The decor is good but I feel like the seats are too close which made me a bit uncomfortable.<br/><br/>For the buffet, there was only limited variations of seafood so as hot food. The oysters were quite fresh tho but I was quite disappointing as they call it " Signature Seafood buffet" but didn't meet my expectation. The theme of this week is Indonesian flavour and I love Indonesian food but the dishes didn't seem Indonesian. The taste of curry beef was quite delicious but most of the food were quite dry and just average.<br/>The only thing that I love was the dessert. The little pina colada cake was so refreshing, and the salted caramel tartlet was so delicious!!<br/>

A WONDERFUL WAY TO SPEND AN AFTERNOON IN A WEEKEND!<br/><br/>We did the High Coffee themed High Tea here on a Saturday at 1pm and we had such a wonderful time! And for $65pp (discount available with an Entertainment Book) this was a highly worth activity!<br/><br/>CUSTOMER SERVICE<br/>We could not fault customer service and their hospitality! Staff was super friendly and attentive and we felt that nothing we could have requested would have been a hassle. One staff even offered to take photos of us without being asked! They were very quick to remove any empty cups and plates which we appreciated<br/><br/>FOOD AND MENU<br/>The menu was perfect and the right amount. We were served with Espresso Martini before free flowing and unlimited barista made coffee were ordered (think lattes, cappuccinos, mocha) and teas. The savoury treats were one of the best we have had the the petite sweets were so delicious and delectable! And the scones were fun and creative with the injectables!<br/><br/>Highly recommended experience!

It's been a few months since I last went to Little Collins Kitchen at the Sheraton for dinner. The seafood buffet is still the same, consisting of prawns, oysters, mussels, salmon, crabs and scallops. Now the hot food has a changing theme. On the evening we dined it was Korean. For those who may not appreciate the food theme, the usual roast meat and vegetables is still available. The changing theme adds variety to the buffet and is a good improvement.

Such a beautiful afternoon spent at the High Coffee! Only $65pp (also takes entertainment book discount) includes the afternoon tea 3-tier stand, an espresso martini and unlimited coffee! The savoury and sweet items were absolutely delicious and the almond scones were a nice addition! Absolutely loved the fraisier!! Available until the end of August 😍<br/><br/>1. Savoury Muffin<br/>2. Croquet Monsieur<br/>3. Egg & Bacon Roll<br/>4. Frittata<br/>5. Cappuccino Macaroon<br/>6. Chocolate Hazelnut Tart<br/>7. Espresso Eclair<br/>8. Fraisier<br/>9. Almond Scones<br/>10. Sheraton Melbourne delights with a cheeky twist on the traditional high tea experience – High Coffee. <br/><br/>With a stunning offering that heroes what Melbourne is obsessed with, coffee, the experience starts aptly with a heady Espresso Martini.

Excellent food, seafood is usually very fresh, overall its always a very nice experience, and atmosphere<br/>I do like the cheese station, dessert selection isnt huge but very good, whilst seafood selection and presentation is very good<br/><br/>Service always exceptional, never had a bad experience<br/>Sometimes the mains do get a bit dry, especially the meats, but this time the meats were top notch,<br/>the only problem is at $90-$100 per head, you are getting into the Langham price range, which is slightly better<br/>Will return without a doubt

Seafood is just ok and other foods are very limited and disappointing, we were assigned a small round table for 3 ppl. Will not visit again. Many other choices of similar price range.

Dined at Little Collin St Kitchen for their seafood buffet. Found this on a Groupon discount, so I was excited to go for the price we paid. The seafood was very good but not often topped up and some not of the same quality of others, there was a small selection of hot food in the mains section and the salads were disappointing as well. Dessert options were also average. <br/>Overall I would not pay full price for the seafood buffet
Some Bunee Loves Food
The buffet had very limited food variations, even though there were mountains of prawns and seafood. Didn't really have much to choose from.

Came for a kids can cook superheroes event. It was basically a high tea for the parents and a bit of cupcake decoration for the kids. No actual cooking for the kids which was a bit of a disappointment for the kids. My daughter was super excited thinking she was going to bake something. It seems the marketing of the event should really be “high tea - kids allowed” not “kids can cook”. Slightly misleading. High tea in the other hand was nice but not worth $60 lunch. I could’ve had 45min lunch at Ezard for $45.

Disappointing afternoon tea. We were the only ones and very difficult to get staff’s attention. Very stingy with Jam and cream & walked across restaurant to bar to get some more. Scones tasted like yesterday’s as were stale. Sandwiches ok. Liked macaron but cakes so so- didn’t like cheesecake but Yuzu tart ok. No tea menu and not clear what you can order. Only ones in place but sat right next to kitchen do not great atmosphere and drab room. Won’t return as didn’t think great value either for quality of food & service.<br/>

Came here last Wednesday using our Cudo deal. Thought the place looked nice-the staff greeted us as soon as we stepped into the place. In terms of the food-i thought it was alright. It wasn’t that great and I probably wouldn’t pay full price to come here but it was a good experience overall. This place reminds me a bit like kitchen workshop
Split The Bill
There was 14 of us attending the Alice in Wonderland high tea. The school holiday deal was that adults pay $55 with one child free. Additional kids $25. It was all about the kids, they were given mini colour in books with Alice pictures to draw. They had strawberry milk in mugs and shared 2 platters of cheese sandwiches, cucumber & carrot and dip and fries. They also took part in decorating a cookie, a slice of cake and a mushroom made from choux pantry and meringue.<br/>The adults shared three tier of high tea foods. There was a ribbon sandwich each as well as a quiche, 2 scones and a few cakes. The food quality of both the kids food as well as adults wasn't the best, I expected more. The cucumber sandwich was mostly all white bread with very thin slices of cucumber. The macarons was tiny and also lacked filling. I also thought kids would get scones and their food however, we shared our schedules with our kids. It was quite a fancy place, staff were lovely and it was great that the March Hare made an appearance during the cookie decorating.

Another outing with a friend who insisted on a buffet dinner at the Sheraton Hotel. Buffets are not my thing but I quietly agreed to go. Apparently it was a “Seafood Buffet”. Yes, there was seafood but no more than any other buffet being offered elsewhere. Perhaps because at the time it was Chinese New Year there was a better selection of Chinese inspired dishes. Back to the seafood - stock standard smallish cooked prawn, natural oysters, smoked salmon, a baked salmon and crab. This constituted the “Seafood Buffet”. Not as grand as it sounded. Crab is so not worth the great effort trying to scrape out the small quantity of sweet flesh from the shell and cracking open the legs. So messy for so little reward. The hot selection featured salt & pepper calamari topped with what tasted like a commercial sweet & salty sauce, ‘Peking’ style duck with a less than crispy skin, roasted belly pork with rubbery ‘crackling’, ‘Char-Siu pork which was a large round pork fillet cooked to a dry disappointment with no taste of ‘Char-Sui’. The stand out for me was a poached ‘White Chicken’ served with soy, chilli & coriander. A couple of unappetising stir-fries, some dumplings & steamed rice completed the hot selection. Dessert was more interesting with fresh fruit salad, a selection of small delectable cakes and ice-cream. I had to use a dessert spoon to scoop out some ice cream as the scoopers sat in in a receptacle of murky chocolate & strawberry water. There was also a small cheese selection. <br/>Service was prompt & attentive. Our waitress was bubbly & friendly without being intrusive. The relaxed casual decor & atmosphere was a plus. Overall at $89 per head for a Friday night dinner, I found it too pricey for what was on offer. For that amount you can find better or similar for less at some of the other City hotel buffets.

Came here for the dinner buffet with the people in our sport league. I came based on reviews and didn't meet that expectations. The service was excellent where our plates were clear and the seafood bowl empty for our use again. The seafood section is limited and seems to always be near empty. They don't seem to monitor to keep it replenish at a consistent period. The hot food and dessert sections were OK. Selection were limited. For a buffet it's average and unsurprising.

We went to the Sunday brunch seafood buffet recently. The variety of food was impressive, however the quality was hit and miss. The oysters were quite fresh, as were the prawns and cooked mussels. The crab (spanner and blue swimmer) were much less impressive. There was poached whole atlantic salmon and smoked salmon. A nice range, but not high price ingredients.<br/><br/>The hot food range was very disappointing. The Massaman beef curry and Mediterranean fish were absolutely dreadful. They had obviously been sitting for quite some time, and tasted like public hospital fare. A supermarket packed mix would have been better.<br/><br/>For dessert, there were some quite nice fresh croissants, but the rest was geared towards children, with an ice cream Sunday bar. The serving freezer displayed the brand name "Movenpick", but I would be the price of our meals that the ice cream is not Movenpick. They were very plain vanilla and strawberry flavours, that Movenpick do not produce. Kids will be over the moon though. <br/><br/>The service team were very friendly, but showing the strain after one hour. I could see that they were clearly understaffed. They remained friendly and helpful, however. <br/>Given the fake Movenpick, and the several very disappointing dishes, I do not recommend this buffet at all.
The World’s My Oyster
If you come on a Cudo voucher it is no doubt a great deal $99 for two people. I have no regrets coming for that price. However as others have said, if you were to pay full price ($300 for two) I would definitely not return. The setting was very relaxing and you could definitely tell it was fresh inspired and spacious! You can definitely relax and enjoy for 2hours!<br/><br/>On the night we went, there were coffin bay oysters which had very deep shells and were incredibly creamy! The oysters were well chilled beforehand AND put on ice so it tasted fresh and was at optimal temp. The prawns were XXL, they were very sweet and the meat was springy and very fresh! The quality of the oysters and prawns were outstanding and the prawns would easily be the size and quality you get for $40-50/kg at the market! <br/><br/>However the negatives were:<br/>The spanner crab had no crab flavour at all, the meat was form but tasted very bland and watery missing the distinctive sweet taste of spanner crab. We alerted the chef and the manager but got not reply or word on why his occurred.<br/><br/>The mussels were similarly watery and bland.<br/><br/>The meat inside the blue swimmer crab was slightly salty but in an appetising way but the biggest disappointment was the meat inside was all shrivelled and had shrunk to about 1/4 size of the shell! It did not taste fresh and not even the salt could mask that the crab was poor quality and old.<br/><br/>A highlight was the dessert which although was not a large selection was hotel quality with the standout being the lemon tart. The other bonus is the Movenpick ice cream! Even though there was only vanilla and strawberry the ice cream was high quality (as expected from the brand) and a step up from soft serve or non-brand ice cream! The array of toppings was also a bonus!<br/><br/>As mentioned by others, the hot food is pretty much a miss and is very small selection! But if you’re here for the seafood and you love prawn and oysters you can easily make your money back and have a very enjoyable feast! I had an excess of 12 prawns and 4doz oysters which is more than my cost of $50pp.<br/><br/>Also note calling the restaurant to change your booking is really really hard once o I’ve booked with Cudo. No one answers the phone ever and I ended up having to call the Sheraton hotel many times to get a message left with the food and bev manager! Pretty poor service in this regard! <br/><br/>

Went here on a Cudo voucher apparently worth $300+ for 2 - glad I didn’t pay that much.<br/><br/>Upon arrival the front of house seemed confused as where to sit us and continued to complain about how they always overbook the restaurant. Mind you in the 2.5 hours we were there it was never fully booked. He gave us a complimentary glass of wine for the wait.<br/><br/>There was 2 large buffets one seafood and one salad. Prawns, smoked salmon, 2 different crabs, oysters and a whole poached salmon. There was plenty of seafood and was constantly filled. There was no implements to open the crabs and no wet towels to wipe your hands on either.<br/><br/>The salads were nice and varied some a little odd and the pasta one slightly dry. The hot food buffet was not as good quality as the seafood and seemed more like a country cafe/club style buffet food.<br/><br/>The dessert cabinet had a variety of little desserts that were well presented plus they had ice cream and a cheese, biscuits and dried fruit station.<br/><br/>My tea was made with tea leaves (yay) but unfortunately was on the cooler side as one they forgot I ordered it and then when they did they couldn’t find any soy.<br/><br/>Good to say I have been but wouldn’t return.

Incredible service - cannot cult the incredibly friendly efficient staff. And the food for a buffet it wonderful. It is produced in small batches in order to continuously keep it fresh. Gorgeous dessert cabinet too! My new favourite - up there with the Conservatory!

Succulent and fresh seafood kept on a bed of ice. Large range of salads at the salad bar. Limited options at hot food and dessert fridges however all food are high quality. Did not try out the cheese and crackers or soup section but looked like there were some good options. Great service although the price is a little high (came for dinner on a fri) but all in all a great dinner in a lovely relaxing environment.

Came here for our ‘early’ work Christmas party on a Saturday night for the seafood buffet. Beautiful food, unlimited seafood, salads, cold meats, cheese platters and hot food. They also have two dessert fridges and ice cream with toppings of your choice. Staff where friendly and very helpful, only down side was having come with a large group we where all on seperate tables instead of one large. Also disappointed that you couldn’t pay for your alcohol as you went had to be combined and paid for at the end which made it difficult.

Had lunch on a Cudo deal. The restaurant is well set out, bright and spotless. The 3 course lunch was well presented, meat cooked as ordered and portion size just right. I was particularly impressed by the level of service. The staff were friendly and attentive. The courses were served as we required them. When my wife ordered a dish without cream staff inquired further and provided a dairy-free alternative she needed. That level of initiative is seldom seen. An amazing deal from Cudo!

Tried the seafood buffet because of a Living Social deal - $50 pp. The seafood was fresh - a good selection of good sized prawns, natural oysters, white wine mussels, smoked and poached salmon and two types of crabs. I made a sad face that there was no larger crustaceans but I got over it and mentally made another booking at Melba at the Langham for their superior seafood buffet. They also have a hodgepodge of around 8 dishes of cooked food; curries, roast, dumplings. A selection of fresh, albeit strangely chosen, salads. Attentive staff, I cut my thumb open whilst enthusiastically opening a crab leg and they were helpful with a bandaid. I add that because it was the most exciting thing that happened.

Came here a few months ago and had their seafood buffet on Saturday. The restaurant is inside Sheraton Hotel. Love the seafood, it's very fresh. They don't have a big range on hot food and desserts but dessert is still good. Only come here if you like seafood. The place is casual and relaxing and staff was friendly. For $89 you can't complain because it's still 5 star hotel. If you went to Melba Langham hotel or Conservatory at Crown you be paying more. Still worth a try. 😀😋

Had dinner here as part of the Scoopon meal, first impression was that the venue was very nicely fitted out with an elegant and refined vibe. As mentioned by many reviewers the selection of hot food items is pitiful, and is reminiscent of a buffet in a 3 star resort rather then a luxury 5 star hotel. The seafood selection was also limited, for a restaurant situated within the Sheraton I expected at least moreton bay bugs or fresh mussels, sadly both were missing. There were mussels on offer, however they had been pre marinated in a wine sauce and I couldn't vouch for their freshness. The dessert on offer was slightly above average with no creme brulee offered and only two flavours of ice cream. Also watch out when opening the doors of the dessert cabinet; easy to jam your finders where it slides shut. <br/><br/>The service was also below par, our waiter was clearly inexperienced and had not been trained how to properly pour champagne or wine. <br/><br/>Overall, I was quite disappointed in my dining experience especially since there are much better options in Melbourne for a seafood buffet, and I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back.

Got given a free buffet for two, so we went!<br/><br/>Food 2: delicious seafood buffet! Lobsters and crabs were hard to eat! 😋 <br/><br/>Decor 2: fine dining <br/><br/>Service 1: just good 🤷🏼‍♀️

Loved the quality of seafood. Prawns, oysters and mussels were very fresh and delicious. I was also impressed by the dips and brioche bread that not many buffet restaurants offer. To be honest the variety of food was not as extensive as other buffet places -- we usually get a lot more choices of hot food from other places for the same or a lower price. Also the couple who were sitting next to us required gluten free diet but left after reading the buffet and non-buffet menus because they couldn't find anything that they wanted to eat. Desserts had good flavours, but we found the mud cake, apple tarts and lemon tarts too dry and hard probably because they were made well in advance and had been kept in the fridge for a long time. The chocolate elegance was very yummy with a rich chocolate flavour. The flourless orange cake with raspberry mousse was also delicious.

Overall a nice experience dining at Sheraton hotel. The oysters were very fresh and the chef was busy keeping the oyster station filled. Seafood station was the best part, the salad station was the second.<br/><br/>However my partner and I were not impressed with the hot food station. There were various hot dishes but we felt those dishes were not up to <br/>standard. <br/><br/>Dessert was average, but the Movenpick ice cream did put a smile on my face.<br/><br/>Worth the value if you buy vouchers, otherwise for $89 per person I'd expect a wider range of food and there's huge room for improvement for the quality of the hot food.
Good Food Good Mood
Cheat day finally arrived and man was I going to make it count. At the buffet style high tea in the Sheraton hotel. At $69 pp this is reasonable value considering high tea as a non buffet is like priced however I didn't quite get the elegance and luxury I would find elsewhere due to the hideous hotel style crockery. Ugly white mugs for tea and sugar sachets? I want a pretty little antique sugar bowl preferably sterling silver. I also think tea should be served to you rather than a brew your own situation up at the buffet. Lovely blends though particularly the one with lavender in it and the peppermint really helped to soothe my stomach after I gluttonously devoured roughly ten peoples worth of food. A glass of bubbles is included and everything is on the buffet. Including the jam and cream which was a bit annoying for me given I like to keep lathering it on between bites. So let's start with the savouries a hot little cheese and tomato tart and some crossiants (yum and yum) and then on to the sandwiches. My favourite was the smoked salmon and cream cheese (of which I probably consumed an entire loafs worth) as well as this little chicken delight on a sort of crostini. Oh how I have missed you bread. I generally opt for a fruit scone over a plain but the sultanas were a little sparse for my liking and the lemon curd not quite punchy enough. There was a nice berry compote option available though as well as a hazelnut cream (which I put on my warmed up crepe and it went down an absolute treat). The macarons supplied by the nearby Crux and Co were an utter sensation. Stunningly chewy and crunchy and just texturally perfect. Now I know cheese isn't a high tea necessity but I feel like it should be at a buffet. Especially when you claim to be a Parisian high tea. I would have loved a bit of Camembert to end my excessive indulgence. Instead I had to practically lay down on the bench seating (thank God we were in the corner). Didn't stop me from shovelling in more sandwiches right until the bitter end when they kicked us out to prepare for the dinner service. Oh and dinner looks fantastic I'm pretty sure I'll be back to try it

Loved this place! I bought a voucher and after reading some review I wasn't really hoping for the best. It isn't a big place but the selection of food was amazing. The oysters are the best! I had read another comment saying that there wasn't much choice of hot food which I found to be wrong. I especially loved the mini potato gratin and the roast pork. The deserts where amazing too! The staff where all very attentive including the chefs saying hello and asking if everything was ok. The floor staff where great too. My plate was cleared away the minute I got up to get more food and my glass was never empty. I will be back again soon 👍🏻

Hot dishes was a hit & miss from my friends opinion. I personal did not have any therefore cannot comment. However seafood... prawns, oyster, swimmer crab, smoked salmond was on the smaller side but very very fresh... crab was nice & sweet. Although the hammer crab was very bland. Dessert was beautiful & so yummy. Last but not least staff were very attentative & pleasant. I also like how it was not a overy busy & hectic environment like some buffet i have been too. Everything was very orderly & overall a pleasant buffet dinner. Can't complain thank you.

We went for a Saturday dinner buffet. The seafood is good and most of them are fresh. Hot food and dessert not many selections but well prepared. The only thing I feel very disappointed is the service. My baby is bit naughty and has the water dropped on the floor, the manager talked with us in a very bad and impatient manner about this. And when he cleaned the water on the floor he expressed in a very emotional manner as well. This is not a 5 star hotel service standard. I hope they will communicate better and of course we will watch our baby more carefully next time.

Saturday night seafood buffet dinner for 9. The usual range of seafood was on display. There was smoked salmon, mussels, oysters, prawns and 2 different types of crab. The prawns were by far the best, with oysters a close second. I have been here twice in the past month and was pleasantly surprised to find the selection of hot food had changed, so it was a different experience on each occasion. The range of hot food is smaller than other buffets, perhaps this is because the focus is on the seafood. There were lots of nice salads. My favourite section was the dessert - the selection was great and the ice cream was Movenpick!! I ate so much of the other food that I did not get around to trying the different cheese, dried fruits, nuts and crackers. Staff were friendly and service was great.

First time visit little Collins st kitchen , it was so disappointed as what I expect. The buffet is seafood Chinese buffet , however the Chinese food is not up to standard ( I think their chef should understand the taste of Chinese food or employ some Asian chef). Seafood is ok .. oyster is very small. The best is only cooked prawn which is bought from outside. Salad range a lot but taste very strange especially the tofu salad. Hot food only few choice, the soft shell crab fried noodle without any crab ( I think people get all the crabs) but chef never fill up. Hainanese chicken look like roast chicken, stir fried pipi is very salty and shell only. Dessert , the best one is movenpick ice cream, others I think they better make western dessert or pastry than Chinese dessert. The glutinous ball dessert is very hard and uncooked. Overall, so disappointed and the price is not worth, $89 per person and we get 15% off through social network booking. I probably won't go back again.

We came here for Chinese New Year celebration<br/>Honestly with this price we were hoping the food/taste and selection would be high end.<br/>However, the good selection is less and the taste just doesn't reach the standard:(<br/>Very disappointing! <br/>The was some dishes doesn't serve on the buffet station until we purposely ask and requested it from the chef.<br/>It was just 7:30pm<br/>They have already keep some food away?! That's unfair for customer that started the buffet session later.<br/><br/>The thing that surprising us is the hainanese chicken is in dark chocolate colour/roasted colour which it should be poach/steam not roasted, the chicken dish probably been sitting for half/one day.<br/><br/>Overall, never come back again.<br/>With this price range we do have a lots of different options!

Came here for celebrating my friend's birthday. It's a quite nice place, staffs are helpful and friendly. Food is above the average, but the selection is less than expected. Overall, it's suitable for gathering some gals here!

Lovely seafood which you can get in many places. However, not many wide range of cooked food. Some cooked food were bland and some were too salty. And some were cold. It was pretty disappointing.

The food tasted okay. Pretty average. Didn't have many options. I expected more from Sheraton. A bit disappointed. I'm sure you can do better. The waiters were friendly. Not sure if I want to go back.

Just finished eating through the seafood buffet. OMG i think I'll need to be wheeled out of the place. I'll never eat again, i actuallu don't think i can eat. So full, so satisfied. We used our luxury escapes vouchers for 8 and it was very good value. Great assortment of seafood. Fresh oysters, crab, poached salmon and prawns. A good variety of salads, antipasto and yummy cheeses. The fish alternative dishes available were delicious also. Desserts, desserts, desserts. Worth the money even without the vouchers. Service was great, decor lovely and very intimate, not too big a venue. it was a lovely night for us all. Would come again but just not too soon.

Went on a livingsocial voucher. For the voucher price i would say is OK priced for buffet. The seafood is the only highlight, mussels were fresh and sweet, oysters and the salmons (both smoked and non-smoked) were so fresh and tasty. The desserts were good. That's all. Go back again? I would think twice. Just for seafood lovers.

Went on a Living Social voucher. On entry you are greeted like any patron and spoken to nicely. Service was excellent with staff being very attentive. Because of the voucher seating duration is 2 hours which as more the ample time to enjoy your dinner. Food was lovely my only issue, is to pay full price I think would be too much as the cold seafood though plentiful it would have been nice to see Moreton Bay Bug halves and there was no fruit selection. Dessert was nice. We had our 3 year old and there is really not a good selection so we ordered a bowl of chips which was $10 and thats quite pricey for frozen chips. Not recommended for little kids as obviously no thought has been put in to considering little children. Hot food was also lovely. Would go again on a voucher only due to price.

We dined at the Seafood Buffet on Saturday night. Having sampled the renowned Buffet at Sheraton on the Park Sydney I was intrigued to see how the Melbourne version would compare. The Melbourne space is much smaller and there isn’t quite as much of an impressive display, however we were very happy with the range of seafood. The oysters were being regularly replenished throughout the night and there were 3 types of crab to keep us busy.

Pretty good seafood we got a voucher so it was so worth it. Would come back again. Customer service was very good and nice staff.

Took mum here for high tea for mothers day. Both food and service were excellent. Looking forward to going back for another high tea. Thank you

We frequently try restaurants on a coupon to gauge if we would frequent them at full price. So with a Living Social voucher for a seafood buffet for 2, we went to Little Collins St Kitchen to try it out. The ambience was fresh and clean but quite basic given the full menu prices. The food was OK.... but just Ok, the range was average for a buffet, both spanner and blue swimmer crabs were dry and not sweet leaving us wondering if they were fresh. Some red onion and capers with or on the side of the smoked salmon would have been an inexpensive inclusion to the dining experience but there seemed a lack of thought or love here.  Oysters were lovely and fresh as were the mussels however the prawns were ho-hum. Salads were average and the non seafood part of the buffet looked so disinteresting we did not try it out. The staff were pleasant and polite but could be more attentive. The wine was overpriced, $85 for a bottle of pepper jack shiraz that I could have purchased from Dan Murphy's for $17 would have been fine if the food and service were up to scratch, but when dirty plates were extremely slow to be removed, water glasses slow to refil and food was just OK, it is not worth the extra dollars, maybe $55-$60 would have been more appropriate.  We eat out a lot and use coupons to discover new places that we would consider frequenting.  Sadly, we would not return to or recommend Little Collins St Kitchen at normal menu prices as the food and service was not worthy of menu prices. I do wish you well folks, but when you are competing against the likes of the Conservatory or Melba restaurant with your food and wine prices, you really need to pick up your food range, quality and service standards or review your pricing as right now you simply do not even come close in the experience you offer your patrons.

First time we went on a Thursday the buffet was really nice. Not to many people and food was great. Just been on a Sunday buffet in which I bought my family from uk. Disappointment when they tried sitting us at a high table which we couldn't do as we had our 1 year old with us which I clearly stated on the phone. Luckily they moved us to the lounge area which wasn't in the restaurant but it worked well for us so our son could crawl on the floor. <br/>Anyway the buffet ran out of things all the time. Had to ask multiple times for potatoes, salmon, Creme brûlée, dumplings etc. they need to speed up on re filling food. The meat selection they had was not as good as our visit on the weekdays. I found a bug in my salad I was just about to put it in my mouth before I spotted it. And then they mistakenly charged my son for the Buffet. Lucky I noticed. Won't be returning I'm afraid.

Nice setting for a buffet which was good value for a voucher but would have been overpriced for usual prices. <br/><br/>Not much for the kids, but curry dishes were nice and spicy for the adults. Service was prompt and courteous. Highlight was the opera cake dessert and lemon cake. <br/><br/>Melba a Langham does this much better, much bigger range and better quality

I rarely write reviews, but I felt that my experience had to be shared. I was excited to see what the "Seafood Extravaganza" I purchased on Cudo for $200 for 4 would be like. Having been to many seafood buffets, I expected the usual fare of seafood from oysters to bugs to prawns. However, after a few mins of sitting down and some nice service we realised that this was so far away from the extravaganza it was promoted as. It was so bad I left hungry. Where to begin, (I'll summarise) the prawns were tiny, the rice paper rolls all 5 were hard and dry, the pasta in the pasta salad was not cooked, the fish (whole salmon) looked sad as he had no meat on him for 45-50 mins, the smoked salmon was average, and the crab tasteless and natural oysters looked ok, don't eat them. The food ran out on most of the seafood and I couldn't even get some oysters for my wife until it clicked and someone came to top it up. The rice paper rolls were replaced with fruit and sat proudly next to ham and salami ?? So over to the hot seafood right ? Wrong, there was some Singapore chilli crab that looked ok, been sitting there for ages, some fish bites off a kids menu, dried out noodles, dry and awful looking Indian dishes, the pasta dish was also dry the naans were non existent next to the sign. So I ate some prawns, some salmon, same calamari salad that was not really nice, and hard pasta salad. Desert was looking good, well displayed in the fridge so I tried some panacotta that ran out of the glass like liquid, the creme brûlée was crispy on top and watery under. Ok so over to the cheese platter, wow some really nice blue cheese and olive bread. $200 for 4 people plus 20 dollars for some sparkling mineral water, I almost felt like this place was taking the piss, but no they are serious. <br/>Save your money, try other much better buffets like the Langham, China Bar, Hyatt etc. Never again Sheraton.

Nice little buffet restaurant. Good range of food - seafood, salad bar - vegetables, chicken salads, dips, hot food area, desserts and cheeses. Good range of food but it would have been nice to have some meats and olives to snack on. Seafood was very fresh mussels were amazing! Good table service as well!

We have had the Seafood buffet a few times now. Last nights was not as a good by a long way. Prawns and Oysters great, Calamari and Mussels OK, hot food selection very ordinary. Cheese selection small but good. I didn't have the dessert so not sure what that was like. Service very hit and miss and we had to ask for our wine to be topped up. If it hadn't have been for a freebie with Starwoods i would have been very unhappy.

I had afternoon tea here which was extremely disappointing. Unable to eat dairy as I am nursing an allergic infant I called twice prior to the booking to inform them of this. They assured me it would be fine otherwise I would have booked elsewhere. However they had no alternatives for the scones or macarons and thought it appropriate to present me with 4 small savoury bites only (for 45 dollars!). When I brought it to their attention l got olives and some cold meat. Thank God the champagne was good!

Visited this restaurant with my partner yesterday evening to celebrate a belated Valentines Day.  We both left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed particularly given the price tag we paid for our meals.  My partner ordered a medium rare steak which turned out to be medium to well done.  I ordered the crisp pork belly which was not at all tender but to my dismay also had soggy skin.  I queried with the waitress whether the pork belly was supposed to be crisp at all and she actually told me no that it was not.  The dish is called crisp pork belly on the menu.  All of the elements of my dish were also bland lacking both flavour and seasoning.  We ordered a side dish that was also forgotten about until we chased it up - surprising given that there were only 4 other patrons in the entire restaurant.  We ate our meal quickly and left to eat dessert elsewhere.  Quite dissatisfied and will not be going back again.
Br
Seafood buffet has got little choice, all taste so-so! it's not worth 85!!!! This place has no view at all, not suitable for Valentine's Day or any other holiday as its like just for the hotel customers kitchen

Decent hotel breakfast but I keep waiting to see something unique and inspired. So far the staff seems bit confused at breakfast and even more so at lunch! Prefer cafe downstairs.

One of the nice seafood buffet restaurant in Melbourne. We had a nice experience there. We went there for dinner during the week. The service was good. Seafood was very fresh. There were also a wide variety of desserts to choose from the bar and the food was good. Restaurant is nice and clean. Good environment.

Our June High Tea group have chosen the “A Parisian High Tea Affair” at the Little Collins Street Kitchen. As is priced $45 per head, it includes the La Belle Miette Macaron so we were hoping for we thought we can give it a try. This kitchen is tucked in at the Sheraton Hotel, and this restaurant also includes a seafood buffet. According to a few word of mouth sources, the buffet includes an set menu with all you can eat seafood on the side. Fantastic for those who love the crabs and oysters.

GREAT AFTERNOON, BUT THEY SHOULD STEP UP -- I visited the Little Collins St Kitchen to have one of their well-known High Tea soirees. To me, Sheraton epitomizes luxury and class, and I expect a High Tea at the Sheraton to be memorable, unforgettable and orgasmic. However, it was not. it was delightful, but not memorable.<br/><br/>THE SETTINGS<br/>I absolutely love the white luminous ample and chic atmosphere of the place, clean lines and modern vibe of the space.  It is cozy despite being quite large and tables have a decent separation between them.   <br/><br/>THE TEA<br/>You can have as much tea or coffee as you want. La Maison du The's selection on offer includes English Breakfast and Early Grey, which are always a winner with me, and I had the first to accompany the savoury stuff and the second to accompany the sweets. Green tea, Peppermint and  Lemon & Ginger are also on offer.<br/><br/>THE FOOD<br/>The High Tea includes two courses, one savoury and another sweet. The quantity and pieces of food is considerable, but the food is not heavy on your stomach, so you can eat everything, and leave happy minus a heavy stomach. <br/><br/>The Savoury glass tier tray was big, but had sweets in it. That was a bit of a let-down for me, because I love savoury bites, and if you tell me that the first tray is savoury I don't want to see any sweet there.  <br/>> Two macaroons, pastel blue and pink, from La Belle Miette, absolutely great, divine, fluffy, moist, right consistency and filled with a delectable jam inside. <br/>> Pate and lettuce mini-éclairs. I thought they looked beautiful and weird at the same time, but they were a big with me. Light, flavoursome, yummy all over.  <br/>> The savoury pastry, tomato and caramelized onion (just guessing) was also great, distinctive flavour, fresh, crunchy, flaky melted in my mouth with gusto. Another hit.  <br/>> The brioche with prawns and dill (not sure if that is the proper description) was lovely, good in taste but a bit dry.  <br/>> The chicken roulade was also OK. Too dry and insipid overall.  <br/>> Finally, on the bottom tray, the scones, and the accompanying jam and Chantilly cream, all average and unremarkable. <br/><br/>The black elongated serving tray for the sweets is the perfect canvas to let the sweets shine. Black has that powerful visual value of redirecting your eyes to the colour or textures on it, so it is great to present anything colourful on it.   <br/>> Orange madeleines with orange custard and a candied fruit did not look appealing, but the taste was wonderful, and a great mix of flavours and textures. The madeleines, though, were a bit not fluffy.  <br/>> The mille-feuille was absolutely delectable, great textures and flavours and a great flavour to put all together..<br/>> The deconstructed Poire Belle Helene was very fresh, refreshing, flavoursome and the pastry very good. I would have loved the syrup to be less liquid.  <br/>>  The Raspberry Dome looked so spectacular that I was salivating as soon as I saw it. Unfortunately, it was the biggest ploff among the sweets ― A bimbo sort of sweet. Beyond the raspberry covering inside looked and tasted of thick whipped cream, more than anything else. The raspberry jam or compote did not mitigate my disillusionment.  Why not preparing a decent raspberry mousse? It was nice, though. <br/><br/>THE STAFF<br/>The staff members were absolutely charming and I have to congratulate the Sheraton for choosing such a great bunch of people. I am especially thankful to two young girls, an Asian (Indonesian I think) girl, and a blonde girl (English or Aussie with light British accent) who made sure that I was having a good experience and attended to me with great care, friendliness and professionalism.<br/><br/>THINGS THAT MAKE A HIGH TEA MEMORABLE (AND WERE NOT THERE)<br/>1/ Customers have on their table a beautifully written menu, with all the items of food we have going to be served with, named and described. <br/>2/ Use of beautiful classy porcelain, even if it is vintage, good quality cutlery, fresh flowers on the table  – things specific for the occasion. All of those things enhance the eating experience. Women love being surrounded by beautiful things.     <br/>3/ A High Tea has three episodes, and they are clearly distinguished: just savoury, palate cleanser, just sweets. You do not put sweets in the savoury tray. <br/>4/ For gosh sake do not offer a breakfast tea for an afternoon High Tea! <br/>5/ You make sure that your food is more than good. To me, the High Tea food is the start, so you want something small but creative, sophisticated, with wonderful textures and flavours.  <br/>6/ You provide clients with a mini serving spade to move the bites from the trays to your plate. <br/><br/>Overall a great experience.

Delicious sweets. We went here for the afternoon tea to celebrate my Mum's 70th birthday. The place was light, modern and elegantly decorated. Our waiter was really helpful and friendly but we found it took a long time to get our waiter or any of the wait staff's attention to order drinks during the afternoon.<br/><br/>We were first presented with a tiered stand with macarons, savouries and scones. The macarons and scones tasted so fresh and were light and fluffy. Although the savouries were nice, they were quite small and were cold savouries- would have been nice to have had some hot food.<br/><br/>We then were given a platter with four different desserts. All the desserts were beautifully presented with so much attention to detail. Each dessert was delicious but the highlight was definitely the white chocolate and raspberry mousse cake. <br/><br/>At $45 the afternoon tea was great value with unlimited hot drinks, high quality food and stunning presentation. Would highly recommend!!

The new Sheraton in Melbourne might not be where you expect it, neatly tucked away up the Spring street end of Little Collins Street, wedged in nearby Bar Lourinha and opposite a carpark. Although it sounds a bit random, they’ve done a great job with the space.  My family discovered the joys of the Sheraton’s weekend buffets at Little Collins Street Kitchen, and the endless Alaskan king crab legs that we devour with fervour, but more recently, I visited with Daisy to check out the high tea, which I knew we had to do once I learnt La Belle Miette were providing some of the macarons …so sign me up! Little Collins Street Kitchen is a homely, but bright and welcoming space, with chairs that encourage you to kick back, settle in and lounge around a bit and a lovely clean and light palette.  All in all? A really lovely afternoon, where we kicked around for 2 or 3 hours, starting with some lovely aromatic tea from LMDT (prettiest tea tins ever) and the usual three tier stand of goodies. Whilst the scones were nice, but not amazing, the savouries were a delight. A savoury eclair with foie gras and fig jam simply ticked off every single box I needed in life, whilst the pissalidiere of caramelised onions, cherry tomato and thyme brought me a touch of Italy in the flavours. The savouries also included a chicken roulade with herb goats cheese on walnut fruit loaf and fresh poached prawns on brioche, with cucumber ribbon and Avruga.  As expected, the La Belle Miette macarons could not be faulted, with perfect little feet, and one of the most uniform macarons shells I’ve seen in my life. Great texture, and totally delicious, with surprising flavours hidden right in the middle.  If you haven’t had quite enough, once you’ve worked you way through the three tiers, a fresh plate of cakes are brought out to you, which are just so pretty, so delicate!

Saturday buffet. Was a bit skeptical after reading mixed reviews using a voucher, we finally used ours on the last day of the groupon offer<br/><br/>Seafood buffet was fresh, personally the crab didn't have much flavour to it, but the oysters and prawns were great. The salad bar was quite limited, but it had what i would normally get. Dessert bar wasn't bad nor the cheese and movenpick icecream.<br/><br/>To me, this is considered a light buffet with the choice of one main dish from the menu (i quite liked my main being prepared fresh, rather than sitting on the bench).<br/><br/>Overall, service was good, and was satisfied with what was on offer. I paid $45 pp included a groupon exclusive discount, and thought it was worth what i got, but wouldn't pay more than that.<br/><br/>Cheers
Kimmy_desu
I think for people with groupon vouchers the sessions are separate to those paying full price (not sure but i think so). The variety of food was pathetic, seriously, a seafood buffet without sashimi (they had smoked salmon and i could taste that they're the type you can get for very cheap at woolworths, what i mean is fresh sashimi), scallops etc, you can get more variety at chinabar or other buffets. The mains took over 45 minutes to arrive and when we asked for second servings of mains they said the kitchen was already closed. NOT WORTH IT EVEN ON A VOUCHER. Only thing I liked was the prawns. The oysters weren't washed and tasted full of sea salt...

Buffet breakfast. We are going to stay at your hotel next week and would like to know how to get buffet breakfast. How much extra is it. Just working out our days etc. thanks.

Very enjoyable. We came on the Sunday brunch session.<br/>Seafood, salads, bread and cheese buffet for starters, order off a menu for main (3/4 of us ordered steaks), and dessert buffet to finish.<br/>Found the staff to be excellent, prompt service and came past regularly to remove the plates.<br/>All the food (except below) we had was delicious. <br/>Only fault was the pomme frites our steaks came with. Unfortunately for all of us they had way too much salt, was a little annoying to try and get the salt off every time we wanted one. Also, it seemed as though the oil they used needed to be changed. A few small things to do differently and it would have been perfect.<br/>I wasn't too upset not eating the chips, rather be eating the other delicious food and dessert.<br/>My Mum had the barramundi and she could not stop raving about it.<br/>All in all we enjoyed the meal, and next time, I'll just ask for no salt on the chips, just in case.

Limited variety but quality food.. We tried the seafood buffet using the Groupon voucher on Boxing day. Service was good. The waiter checked our table frequently to clear the plates and to ensure that we don't run out of water.<br/><br/>Although the spread of food wasn't fantastic, I find the quality of food to be good. The oysters, prawns and crab legs were fresh. I enjoyed the salad too. For the hot food, I like the seafood stew and the fettucine carbonara. The pasta was handmade and was cooked al dente. Desserts were ok. Would be great if they have ice cream, creme brulee, panacotta and the chocolate fondue. A live cooking station would be good too.<br/><br/>I think that the price is reasonable if you are using a voucher but I probably wouldn't pay full price.

We came here on a groupon voucher for the Sunday lunch session. I found the service was excellent that day where the waiters would check on us often to get us drinks, take our mains, clear our plates etc. I have no complaints with the service. The buffet didn't have a lot of variety to choose from but it was sufficient for what we paid for. I would not go back again but it was a good experience and I would recommend it to my friends and family.

Limited choice & slow service & bad dessert. Came here usng the voucher. Was delighted to see plenty of prawns, alaskan crab legs, oysters, bugs & smoked salmon. Quality was good & plenty for everyone. Would prefer fresh salmon over smoked though.<br/><br/>Hot food was good though options were limited, eg there's only roast pork available.<br/><br/>Dessert wise was a major let down. Same cakes & tarts in both fridges, pastry cases were soagy & the favor was just OK. Definitely ended the night a bit flat.<br/><br/>Service wise was also poor. Plates were not collected quickly when we went to get more food. This happened throughtout the night. All the waitors just avoided eye conact so it was very difficult to get any attention at all. It was just frustrating with plates & shells piling up with little room left on the table for new plates. <br/><br/>At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. Langham Melba is still our fav & hard to find another buffet restaurant that can beat it.

Average. 6.5/10.. (Sunday lunch) All you can eat prawns oysters crab morton bay bugs smoked salmon. Basic salads. No meat buffet, it was a choice off the lunch menu for one main meal each. Desert buffet/choices were minimal. Service was A+ helpful/friendly. Overall it was an enjoyable lunch & good value for money.

Went with a Groupon voucher and it was AMAZING. I came here on a Saturday night booking on 20 December 2014, on a Groupon voucher. There was a negative review the night before, so I was a little worried, but it turned out to be an amazing experience. The seafood included oysters, crab legs, prawns and smoked salmon and they were plentiful, fresh, and keep being refilled regularly to be kept fresh.<br/><br/>The food was generally European, with a French and Italian focus, but on the night there were also Spanish inspired food like a Chorizo Roast Chicken and a seafood scallop stew that was delicious. The roast station had a roast pork and stewed apple. The selection was not huge but everything there was quite unusual and not the standard Buffet fare. The chef was evening walking the floor checking the food was all ok. There was an open kitchen as well so you can see the food being prepared.<br/><br/>There is the usual cheese platter, ice cream (Movenpick rum and raisin, chocolate chip), and the dessert selection was great and the quality very high. I was definitely very surprised and impressed. All in all, definitely worth the money of the voucher and if you love seafood, probably even more.<br/><br/>The staff was very friendly even when it got a bit busy. When we got there at 6pm the place just opened and there was a hungry crowd with booking all waiting outside. But everyone was processed in a polite and efficient manner. There was no forceful upselling of drinks (but the cocktail menu and bar looked pretty good!), and water was refilled quickly and plates and seafood shell bowls collected regularly.<br/><br/>Everyone that was there seems to be having a great time too. Would definitely consider going back and recommending others to give it a try.

Not even worth at voucher price. Not much varieties, a seafood buffet with only crabs and prawns. Only limited oysters at the beginning of the session, can't even get 1 for each person. Limited food varieties, only 7-8 hot dishes. The desserts were crab, just those street shop cakes cut into smaller pieces. Poor services too ! Worst dinning experience ever!
Laura Rosso
Good, but not outstanding food. Worst service ever! Too expensive for such a poor service. Wouldn't go back...

Voucher was worth the money. Purchased a voucher to try the seafood buffet and it was well worth the money in terms of the food quality and their excellent service! Definitely will be going back!

Was worth buying a voucher. We were happy with the prawns and the crab.<br/><br/>The main course left a lot to be desired, both the ham and the turkey were dry. Turkey skin was burnt.<br/><br/>The desserts were nice.<br/><br/>Service was also very good.

The food is a joke. Seriously overpriced garbage cooked by amatures. Wont go into specifics but do not waste your time or money here. A total embarrassment

Excellent Breakfast. We stayed at the Sheraton on the weekend and decided on eating breakfast at Little Collins St Kitchen. Was good to be offered the option of buffet or al a carte but I am a buffet man so was always going to go the full works. Even the the hefty price of $40 was not enough to perturb me. Once I had rung the bank to organise a personal loan to pay for the meal I was very impressed with the selection and quality. Buffet food was fresh and the omelette I had was also excellent. It came in a close second to the omelette at the Sea Temple Resort in Port Douglas. Waffles were also a nice little treat to finish off. My Rating 9/10.<br/><br/>-Daniel

Couscous Prawns. My family and I have dined at the The Little Collin St Kitchen several times since the opening, and we have become a bit of a regular. <br/><br/> Hani Daher, Food and Beverage Manager and his team are exceptional. The wait staff are always friendly and greet us with open arms when we arrive. <br/><br/>The food is absolutely fantastic. Our favourite dish is the Prawn Starter / entre (couscous prawns) OMG, it is so yum! Also we love the Chateaubriand and new buffet on Sunday bruch, breakfast and seafood buffet on Saturday nights. <br/><br/>Love to see more of: Foie gras, Escargot and more of a French influence / menu. Also, the seafood Buffett to be available on Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights which will make the restaurant more busier. <br/><br/>My family have been eating in Sheraton restaurants at least 3 times per week for the last 20 years in Australia, and the Little Collins St Kitchen is a great place to eat. <br/><br/>From a regular dinner....Rob S

Enjoyed the quality of food. Better than Allegro the other SPG hotel in the city. Dinner is nice but the breakfast is better. I have to agree there are a couple of issues with serving as mentioned in a previous review. I don't understand why it was thought a good idea to have people hold plates and pot lids. There just isn't the space. This should be redesigned quickly....<br/>Give the restaurant a go. The food and service is good but there should be a very special mention for the desserts. YUM
Ronin47
OK but there are issues. Ate breakfast here as part of my stay. Food OK but here's some things, hopefully early teething issues:<br/><br/>1. Didn't get offered tea or coffee the entire hour I was there<br/>2. They didn't check my room number at all so could have been anyone off the street<br/>3. They were taking half an hour to clear other tables<br/>4. When you go to cut fresh bread there's nowhere at all to put your plate<br/>5. There is no egg station but you can get things like eggs benedict cooked - absolutely no mention of this of course - no sign, no menu, no offer<br/>6. When you select from the hot dishes, there's nowhere to put the heavy lids except on the actual counter above - not great design<br/>7. Potato and beans undercooked<br/>8. They serve up waffles - but there's no cream, maple syrup, anything to go with eating a plain dry waffle.

After arriving up the marbled stairway encompassed by large woody panels, tall chandeliers and glitzy lobby, entering into Little Collins St Kitchen was like walking into a different country. Light cream textured tiles, white wooden armchairs and plush grey couches. It was warm and welcoming, like a French provincial kitchen, making it a welcome change to the oppressively dark, stark interiors normally common to such dining establishments. Once seated and wined’ up, we took a selection of old and new school dishes. A lashing of what comes out of the kitchen that somehow manages to balance the needs of sneaker-shoed loungers looking for a relaxed but filling meal, as well as gastronomes wanting

Little Collins Kitchen, new and modern was the perfect venue for our family birthday celebration (happy birthday to me!). With parking easy, and as guest of Starwood Hotels, we were invited to check out the #savorandsave program and its delights. Walk into a modern chic hotel and head up to the first floor to Little Collins Kitchen, a stylish restaurant based on the concept of a kitchen table dining experience. This is relaxed bistro style dining at its best.
