If I ever get stranded on a deserted island, the 3 food groups I would want to have with me would be bubble tea, doughnuts and HSP! And CBD Kebabs' version of HSP is right up there with the best.
They were very generous with everything. Lots of fresh crispy chips, a mountain of delicious meat and lashings of excellent sauce. The combination resulted in a carb high.
The folks serving us were nice and friendly too. And with long opening hours, this place has a lot going for it.
Trying this kebab shop for the first time after searching for best kebab in Melbourne and found this is one of the recommended ones from a few blogs. I ordered the small HSP (not sure why it’s called this). The lamb is thinly sliced and juicy. But after awhile I find it too heavy without vegetables or bread to balance the taste. Also I felt very thirsty for the rest of the day. It’s a negative point for me.
I have had many HSPs (Halal Snack Pack) and Kebabs in 3 years that I have been in Melbourne. It is cheap, filling and one of the best comfort food on the streets available till late at night. Since the time I’ve started eating from CBD Kebab, I have not found any other one as good as them. The meat is always flavourful and juicy. I always order a mix HSP and a mix Kebab, mix in this case if a mix of lamb meat and chicken, and you can differentiate between both the meats just by smelling it. The smell makes the flavor even better and it just makes everything tastier.

Kebab store in the city.
Situated next to Viva, it's just a small stall with no seats. Staffs were friendly and food didn't take long.
Had the lamb kebab and it was quite yummy. Size was generous, veggies were fresh and wrap was toasted well. I do think the kebab meat was bit too floury/soft and prefer ones with ones that have a meaty bite to it, as with my dad.
Chips though were great, nicely fried and generous.
Overall a great place for some takeaway kebabs especially late late at night (or morning lol).

Pretty decent place, the staff are friendly too. I ordered the HSP and it was very nice, they put alot of meat in there. However the cheese was kinda lacking, I expect way more then what they gave me
As I read through the previous reviews raving about kebabs and HSP's, of which I cannot speak of as it is not what I ordered... I ordered the humble cheese and spinach Gozleme.Partly because I knew it would keep and travel the best through by Uber eats trip, and because it is exactly what I wanted.
It arrived packed to the rim, piping hot and the filling plenty. The borders retain a crisp crunch and centres are not doughy.
For its price, size and quality, the is a beautiful for goz.
I wanted a Turkish shawarma the way I used to have it when I was living in Qatar. Not exactly what I was looking for but I had a very nice mix kebab. Clean, friendly staff, good and fast service. Everything you're looking for in a food joint. Haven't tried their HSP and all the sauces, so will def come back.

I went to grab food at CBD Kebabs with a friend before seeing a show a few weeks back — a pretty delayed review.
CBD Kebabs is a small fast food place (Turkish-Australian) located on Flinders St, but boy, I’m pretty sure this place is always packed during lunch and dinner hours, or even midnight. During lunch hours, I usually see school and uni kids lining up outside of CBD Kebabs, or night time with people before or after partying. I’d say it’s because they offer a fairly pocket-friendly deals — they even have big promotional signs on the exterior. They’re sited next to a similar kebab place, but what got me into buying meals from this place was their kebab and HSP price and deals promotional signs when I came across it — $9 Kebab, $13 HSP along with the container to show how big it is.
They sell a range of kebabs (lamb, chicken, etc), Gozleme, Burger, Halal Snack Pack (HSP), Baklava and Turkish Delight for a small dessert, and heaps of extras and sauces options. Most food vary from $5-$15: considerably cheap compared to other kebab place I’ve been to. Looking at photos on Zomato, HSP is probably their best-selling meal.
I ordered 1 HSP to share, and my friend ordered the mix kebab and it took less than 5 minutes for them to get the food ready. The wait staff was nice too, he told us how long the waiting time will be, etc — good customer service for a fast food place. My HSP was yummo, equal portion of chips and meats, or even I think the meat was slightly more than the chips. The kebab was soft and delicious, heaps of meat inside too.
I’d go back to grab food from here again. Good price, good food, quick and good service for a fast food place — perfect for when you’re in a hurry or after cheap meals.

Taste nice. Pretty cheap! I like how they are so generous with the food. Whenever im hungry at late night, i always order it whenever i feel bored or sad. Will recommend this food to another friend in future.
The best HSP in town. I tried the Mix Hsp with Mayo, sweet chilli & garlic sauce. The chicken was of premium quality & the quantity was also great in $13 pricing.
