The home to amazing Korean Food!
This place has been around for ages and they are all about amazing flavours. No frills inside but just amazing food.
My favourite has got to be the fried chicken with cheese and the jap chae. The tteokbokki here is really yummy as well.
It reminds me of a homecook diner where you walk in and know for a fact they serve amazing homely dishes.
Their pancake used to be better but its still one of the best korean restaurant in mel
I ordered tteokbokki on UberEats today. I asked for cheese without expecting it as I didn't pay for extra (UberEats didn't provide me with an option), but they kindly gave me a generous portion of cheese regardless.
The tteokbokki was delicious!! Perfect amount of spice, not chewy, lots of vegetables/fish cake and a great sized portion. Will definitely be coming back to eat here in person.
The spicy fried chicken with cheese here is the best. The sauce is delicious. Rating is based mostly on how good this dish is.
Most other dishes are about the same as other middle of the road Korean restaurants.
Seafood pancake is quite good.
Jaepchae can be hit or miss.
They use small paper cups for water, which is pretty wasteful.
Mook Ji Bar provides simple, no nonsense Korean food in a very basic environment. I visited on a weekend at lunch time and the place was packed. Despite this, service was quick and there was a quick turnaround in customers.
I ordered the Bibimbap while my companion had the squid bulgogi. Even though the bibimbap was not served in a hot stone bowl, it still tasted delicious. Not sure how they got that egg perfectly round with a runny yolk. The squid bulgogi had a lovely spicy taste to it and the squid itself was not over cooked...so vigorous chewing was not required. The side dishes were limited but nice and crunchy.
It's clear why Mook Ji Bar has a good score!
We had the soy garlic fried chicken & bibimbap. Both were amazing, highly recommended! Amazing staff too 🤩 Would defs come back!
How big is the portion size? I did not expect some much meat. Loved the separate sides of kimchi, pickled radish? And salty fried gish
This is my third or fourth time visiting here. My friend is fond of the spicy fried octopus which I admit is really delicious. I tried beef intestine this time. The texture of beef intestine is quite weird for me haha, but the flavour of the soup is as good as the seafood tofu soup. I could eat 3 bowls of rice with the spicy fried octopus :)
Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I tried this Korean soup for the first time and it really surprised me! I’ve been to mook Ji bar for the first time and decide to eat spicy potato and pork ribs stew and also kimchi pancake.
The food: do you know that feeling when you eat something and you remember your childhood? So this restaurant made me feel this way. And I’ve never eaten Korean food in my childhood. Anyway. I just loved it. The dish is enough for 3 people eat well (but we ordered the pancake together and it was too much).
The service: nothing to complain, they serve really quick and friendly.
The price: the price around Melbourne is similar. I paid $42 for the soup and the pancake it was $15 I believe, but the taste worthwhile.
Mook Ji bar has always be one of place to go for me in finding korean casual eating. I love their soy garlic fried chicken with cheese. Today, we tried their lunch deal which is very yummy with very good reasonable price.
After tasting some Korean fried chicken out there, Mookji is considered as one of the best so far. I rate this which based on the crunchiness and the sauce taste. However, I feel there is an inconsistency in the cooking as I have had the same menu within these two months.
Couple of months ago I had the best smoked garlic soy chicken, yet last night it tasted differently. I could taste the sweet and umaminess with a generous amount of sauce. Yet last night, salty was overpower the taste. I would say it was sill good, but I would prefer the previous one.
Despite above matter, all others were okay. The snow chicken, pancake, and of course the bulgogi squid were amazing.
Loved the mackerel i would definitely order it again. I also ordered the korean cheese chicken probably my favorite. I was so excited i forgot to take a photo. And the staff is super friendly too!!
Great as always. Sadly menu has shrunk again. Quality is still great and seemingly better due to the smaller menu.
The kfc is always good and the Samgtye tang is something i woulf recommened when you are feeling under the weather.
Today (01/08/22) i had Spicy beef spare rib, it was served with rice and is delicious, abit spicy and very hearty and filling
The dumplings are great as a starter or side.
Will continue to go to Mook ji bar as i have for a long time
Incredible incredible incredible!! absolutely loved this place : )
Wish I could give more than 5 stars.
We’ve ordered Truffle Mushroom Bibimbap, Braised Pork Belly, and Eggplant, Amazing vegan dish but also satisfying for a non vegan like me.
Food amazing. Customer service amazing. I've been coming here for a while before lockdowns. First time back since lockdown lifted and definitely didn't disappoint.
Highly recommended. Should try the spicy beef ribs, the seafood pancake and the Korean bbq pork belly.
New menu post lock down. Went for our favourite gamchatang, but no longer on the menu. Decided to give the set dinner menus a try. The side dishes were delicious and on point. All with distinct and tasty textures and flavours. The main dishes were also good too. Finished with a small but sufficient bingsu (also included in the set meal). Whopping value for under $30.00. Sad to see some old fav dishes go, but the revamp has some real good offerings.
Their new concept in serving the dish was really good. The menus options are an excellent value. The food was fresh and awesome, Then we also had dessert and that was really good as well. Highly Recommended.
