Nice coffee, great breakfast options, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. My only gripe is that the Hash Browns are just a round cake of mash potato, no semblance to a hash brown whatsoever. Fix that and this place gets a 5 star from me.

I've been here twice but it's already one of my favourite cafes in Melbourne. I like the space and the quirky decor, the friendliness of the staff and the varied menu. The menu is interesting, so much that it always takes me a while to decide what I want. Now the food. It happens that both times I went there, I was feeling a bit sick so I ended up ordering the healthier items on the menu. On both occasions, I had the matcha latte which was good. Smooth, creamy and not too sweet. I also recommend the mixed fresh juice. The first time, I had the soup of the day which was pea and ham soup. It was a good portion, not too salty and exactly what I needed. If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be perhaps to have more peas. As a surprise, my soup came with bread and melted brie. That was such a nice touch. I loved it. The second time, I had the lentil cakes with kale and a special spicy salsa sauce that I cannot remember the name of. Beware, that salsa is spicy but definitely complements the dish. My lentil cakes were not too oily and they were crispy outside and creamy inside. I am more of a meat eater but I thought the lentil cakes were more than satisfying. Again, the portion was good. I was too full to order a cake afterwards but they have a big selection of cakes, all of which look delicious.

Located on a very beautiful street, Rhapsody's is a wonderful spot for any meal.

The service and ambiance both were great. We were also lucky to visit this cafe on a beautiful sunny day- really added to the feel.

Order
🔹️ Smashed it- really tasty dish. It's hard to go wrong with a smashed avo dish anyway but this one at Rhapsodys has been one of the better ones I have tried. Very yum!

🔹️Field of shrooms- loved it! A very very filling dish. The mushrooms were really well cooked and the dish was put together really well. The combinations on the plate worked well together and made this dish very delicious! Would recommend!

🔹️Pancakes- this dish was recommended to us by the staff and I am glad they did. Not only was it pretty but also very tasty. The fresh fruits and fairy floss added to the taste really well.

🔹️Chocolate smoothie and chocolate milkshake- wasnt a fan of the milkshake but the smoothie was really tasty. The right amount of sweet and well balanced taste of banana and chocolate.

Overall, I think this place is a bit pricey, but great nevertheless! A visit is must!

Rhapsody’s cafe located on Rathdowne street in Carlton is a lovely old building that serves a classic brunch menu delivered by very friendly staff. There is seating out the front with shade provided by umbrellas but majority of the seating is inside, predominantly bench stools along the walls with the rest of the interior comprising of tables of 2-4.

I have often walked passed this adorable old classic building and on a Friday afternoon I finally decided to pop in and see what Rhapsody had on offer. I was greet by a keen barista behind the counter displaying mouthwatering sweet pastries along with hefty looking savoury pies and sausage rolls ideal for takeaway. I grabbed a seat at the back of the cafe on comfy pillowed seating and was provided with a menu and nice jug of water and left to it.
I ordered a long black when getting the wifi password which was a bonus as I pondered over the menu.

The long black arrived quickly and was brewed hard and dark served with an adorable house baked shortbread biscuit that got the little kid in me very excited. The bold nutty flavours where strong with an acidic undertone and thick texture, characteristic of true Italian coffee found in Carlton. I finally decided to order some food opting for the refreshing house made granola.

The dish arrived looking spectacular, presented on a large wooden board and plated with respect and care to the fresh ingredients. The house made granola composed of chia seeds, seasonal fruit, mixed berries, red wine poached pear and mango labne served with my preference of almond milk was flawless. The granola was a huge serving of chewy whole rolled oats, mixed with nuts, crystallised ginger, dried fruit and sneaking clusters of dark and white chocolate adding a touch sweetness. The fresh kiwi fruit, grapes, apple and strawberries added texture and another array of refreshing flavours. The standout mango labne was magnificent, thick and creamy and not to sweet with plenty of mango flavour. The wine poached pair was also excellent, poached to perfection not to mushy and infused with plenty of boozy flavour. The size of this dish is very impressive as when the almond was poured over the top the granola absorbed it ensuring the dish wasn’t to dry, bringing all elements of the outstanding and massively filling meal together. I would have to say that this was one of the best granola dishes I have ever had purely due to the amazing array of flavours, textures and the creativity of the elements that all compliant each other, enhancing each ingredient to the best of its abilities.

Rhapsody is a sensational cafe serving top notch food and coffee at a very reasonable price in a beautiful and relaxing environment. The staff are very friendly and the service is great ensuring one will leave with a very full belly after indulging in one of their satisfying meals.

LizbethDee's Mum totally agrees. Was such a comfortable and friendly cafe to share my last meal with my daughter before she flew to Adelaide for a weeks study leave in her chosen profession. Yes small menu but each item was hard to pass over. Servings were ample and very, very tasty. Coffee great as well. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Recommend highly.

We came here via the use of a living social voucher as it was a great pitstop on the way to the airport as well as a great deal.
It's always nice when your high hopes for your last meal in Melbourne before a week in Adelaide is met. Rhapsody's cafe has a really nice ambience complimented by cheerful and pleasant staff. While the menu only consists of one page, it is definitely quality over quantity. Each meal sounded delightful.
I ordered a green tea and my mum ordered a latte. Each were accompanied by a little biscuit which is a charming little addition and was quite tasty with some kind of nut in it I believe. For food I ordered the nachos fritters and my mum had the Nutella crepes. I devoted my fritters. I really enjoyed the savory tastes of the corn fritters, bacon, chili con carne and guacamole. The crepes looked good too even though I'm not a huge nutella fan.
I thought the only improvement that could be the time to get food out. There weren't many people in the cafe and I thought the wait didn't reflect this. I may have just been overly hungry though, I'd been up since 8 and eaten a single date and I was waiting for food at 11.15
If I'm out this way again, I would definitely recommend this cafe as a sure thing for a good meal and cosy atmosphere.
