Very cool place! Order at the counter in the back and eat on the stools around the long table. Was recommended that we get the burger so we did. Great burger. Super tasty burger patty & lovely texture to the bread. Just the right combination of spongy, soft & crisp. Need to come back with more folks so we can do better justice to the menu!

Cute hole in the wall diner that serves delicious juicy burgers. Love that there are a variety of condiments available to self serve. I had the cheeseburger, found the meat payty super juicy and delish and bun melt in your mouth. Chips were crispy and well salted. Left with their house made jalapeno sauce made in house, $9. Definitely go back again. Place is cash only but there is an ATM right outside if you forget.

I’ve been delighted every time I come here and was utterly disappointed on my last visit. Never in my life have I been served the worst part of a lettuce in a burger. It’s like an insult. A bitter insult.
It’s like when you bring home an unattractive girl and she tells you she doesn’t like giving head. But you still go down on her anyway. On this occasion though I still ate the delicious burger out. Tasted amazing as always no problems in that area. Never judge a book by its cover as they say. Will back back, no bad blood homies 👍🏽

They are a small diner hidden on the Spring Street end of Bourke Street. They have a meat intensive menu with lots of options including skewers. You go up to the counter to order and pay. Be aware that they only take cash.
I went with the special of the day which was a striploin with chips. I also grabbed the octopus skewers. The skewers were quite nice but a little pricey at $4.50 each. The striploin was tender and juicy with horseradish on the side. Although tasty the portions were a bit small. I would have like to have tried their burger and hotdog too but didn't have the cash for that.

The staff are really friendly, patient and helpful. I didn't think I'd find a 24 hour place that I liked as much as Fast Eddie's. But here we are. There is so much on the menu I want to try. I guess that means I'll have to go back.

We came in late night Wednesday, walking into the store was a bit confronting with the amount of meat on display. I’ve heard good things about the burgers, so I was keen to try.

Cheeseburger -
Generous amount of sauce
160g Wagyu patty was juicy, cooked to medium rare - perfect
Buns were grilled until crispy but soft on the inside
Sliced whole pickle to tie it all together

I was really impressed with the burger here, it wasnt too small for a meal on its own and I couldn’t fault it. Even though it was a bit messy to eat, it was definitely worth it!

We will definitely be back!

We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t too busy, the service was efficient.

We ordered two cheeseburgers one with bacon. The burger was delicious and it was my favourite burger.

The patty was slightly under done and pink which was perfect. It was extremely juicy and flavourful, the ingredients mixed well with each other and the bun was nice and crispy.

The overall texture of the burger was flawless. It was kinda messy it eat but that’s all part of the experience and to finish it off they had wet wipes.

10/10!

I have been wanting to check this place out for a while. And it didn’t disappoint. We decided to grab snacky foods and share. Although we saw our neighbours order the dry age steak and it looked mouth watering. Will be back for sure.

This is a great little place to come if your after a late meal. I ordered the salmon and it was delicious and my mate had a great steak which was cooked perfectly. The place also serves alcohol which makes it the perfect venue for a 2am dinner. They only take cash so make sure you go to an ATM first.

I had a take away from Butchers Diner for dinner with friends. I had a cheese burger, octopus & sausage skewer, Korean beef skewer, grilled broccoli and chips. The beef patty is not like commercial processed mince beef patties. It is fresh and crafted so that it is a beef patty with a texture when you bite into it. Quite frankly I loved the octopus and sausage skewers more than the burger. The way it is grilled left the octopus tender, not rubbery. The balance between the octopus and the sausage is wonderful. The beef skewers were again tender not overdone so it was impressive. Because I'm from Canberra, it was comparable to Brod burger (quite famous burger joint in Canberra). Aside from the burger, I think I like Butchers Diner more.

The only late night spot you should be going to if you’re in the city. Lost count of the amount of times I’ve come in for lunch and dinner. Daily specials always appealing. It gets busy but you will not be disappointed. Must haves for me are blood sausage and deviled egg sandwich, cheese burger with bacon, potato salad and the buttermilk friend chicken sandwich. Cracker joint!

A must visit for me when visiting Melbourne. Burgers are made well and good quality. Store entrance is not as obvious so keep your eyes peeled when walking along Bourke st. They were full when I visited, so i got it takeaway and took it to the nearby Parliament gardens and enjoyed my burger and fries picnic style.

5 stars purely based on the food. The food here is unassumingly good and affordable. Truly a hidden gem in Melbourne. First, let's talk burger. What we came for, but wasn't the star. It was a very good cheeseburger we had - the patty had more of a sausage consistency than the usual beef patties, but nothing to complain about. The star of the show was the Kingfish collars we had - the Daily Monger Cut. Wow wow wow. I got my hands all dirty for this finger licking good dish. The sides we got were also amazing. I was sick of having chips so opted for the warm potato salad and it delivered. Needed some greens too and the charcoal broc with tahini was killing it - earthy and fresh. I'm not from Melbourne but the next time I'm here, I'm definitely back for more (and I know I'll be ordering not burgers this time)

Great service, friendly staff. We got the hamburger deal which was good value for money, unfortunately hamburger wasn’t the best I’ve had. It lacked flavour. Chips however were well salted and crunchy. Also had a dim sim which was amazing, their dim sims are from South Melbourne market. I will return to try other things on the menu though.

Great casual place in the city. They are so busy on the weekend, but lucky we got a spot straight away. The food was pretty good .. I will definitely come back to try their specials on the menu

Great customer service, went on a Saturday afternoon and wasn’t busy. Young lady who served was super friendly and helpful. Cheese burger with bacon was spot on. Love the crispy bacon touch. Octopus and Chinese sausage spot on. Pork tongue very chewy but nice flavour.

This place specialise in beef; inside you can see the different cuts of beef undergoing the dry-ageing process in the meat storage cabinet. Everyday they have a different daily special and what caught my eye was the French dip which was available on Saturdays. The bread roll was lightly toasted; shaved wagyu beef was tender, not much seasoning if any but can appreciate the natural beefy taste. The sweet onions and melted cheese added an additional layer of flavour and texture. Accompanied with a runny savory dipping sauce, it added the much needed juiciness to each bite. Overall pretty tasty.
