3.5. Small coffee shop but nice coffee here. I get the flat white here. It's ok.
Always walk past this place during lunch and sometimes got tempted to buy a cake slice from them.
I walked pass this coffee shop during lunch.. I stopped by to buy a coffee when I saw there is a few people waiting outside the shop so I decided to give it a go.. coffee is decent.. good service, nothing much to complain about..
Needed my 3rd coffee for the day, mainly because the other coffees didn't quite cut it. Got it strong, was enjoyably bitter but started to notice a bit of sourness come through. Did the job however and was an absolute machine at work.
Great coffee and an outstanding Italian hot chocolate (very rich, very filling), friendly service but can be a little slow (we tend to go when it is quiet, so no obvious excuses - I'd dock half a star if that was an option). Still, great little cafe and worth a visit even if only to try the hot choccies!
One of my fave coffee shops when I’m on this side of town. Superb coffee, friendly staff and great loyalty offer.
Only qualm is the wait in the morning, purely based on how popular this place is. But as we say in Melbourne, if it’s good it’s worth waiting for :)
Nice hole in the wall cafe that's taken over the entrance to the corporate building next door with Dionne tables. Ordering was fun!. A smile and a giggle when technical things are not going to plan.
Grabbed a bacon and egg muffin and a piccolo. The muffin tomato chutney was delicious. The cheese was a melted mess of yum! Great coffee too!
Great music (currently playing Jurassic 5 on the hip-hop tip), friendly staff and the barista rocks an awesome beard!
Nice coffee, good service. Conveniently situated at exhibition street attracting lots of people grabbing a cup in the morning on the way to work.
I don't usually bother writing a review about coffee shops as there's so many quality ones especially in the city area however this one is an exception!
I randomly walked past it and decided it was time for a coffee and I'm glad I did ! Coffee is great even by Melbourne'a high standard 🙂
Best batista coffee I've had, all cliches aside. I drink black coffee, so hard to hide imperfections. This place is brilliant. Excellent service too.
Grabbed my morning coffee from here and what a nice way to start the day! The lady who took my order was really friendly and the coffee tastes good too (love the design of the cup)!
Seriously, the best coffee in Melbourne, probably Australia. Not just saying that. Passionate and hard working owners who genuinely care about their customers. Great little food menu too. So much to love about this place. Give them a go, support small and local businesses. You won't be disappointed.
Slightly bigger than a 'hole in the wall' cafe, Black Velvet delivers exceptional coffee every time. Small selection of food (pastries, soup & toasties) but the real hero is the coffee!
Great coffee shop. Very nice and friendly staff. Owners Jacqui and Darren are always great with a smile, great coffee, and if they're not too busy, they're good for a chat too. Good selection of beans, both their own house blends and their selection of single origin. Do pop in.
Exceptional coffee, and super friendly owners. I buy my coffee beans from here to use at home, and their in-cafe coffees are really good too.
Big fan of this spot. Been slinging great coffees at their CBD location for years and doing it all with a sincere smile and excellent service. Their beans are also great for any home coffee connoisseurs.
Really friendly staff. I beleive the owner helped me out with an aeropress. Was very happy to chat with me about it. Didn't get a chance to try their coffee but will definitely be back.
Quick service, friendly staff and great location! Had a croissant and it was delicious 🥐
Easily the best coffee in the CBD, probably Melbourne and perhaps even Australia. Staff are always lovely, remembering most customers by name. Sandwiches and little treats are available and super tasty.
