Before dinner we were looking for a pre drink place and came across Lina's. It was cosy for winter and offered happy hour as well as a nice platter with a few meats.

Another day, another Restaurant but tonight was special. I’ve always liked this part of Melbourne for that something a little unique and reminds me a lot of Europe, particularly Spain.
There are three parts to this restaurant. Outside on the wide pavement are some tables and chairs and on this mild summer night, the perfect place for a wine or Aperol and watch the world go by. Inside thereis the bar inside with stools. This is where you order the ‘bar food’. There are also tables to sit at here and then outside at the rear in a small courtyard. The toilets are between the courtyard and main restaurant.
This is probably more known as a wine bar with a brilliant range of local and international wines. The Sunbury Shiraz was excellent.
We ordered a platter of nibbles which was $32. Consisting of four lots of cured meat, sausage and pate. Came with garlic butter and small slices of crusty bread. We were offered a little more bread at no extra cost. The pate was superb and there was s generous amount of food. The main menu for those seated at tables appeared to be a little different but with lots of good choices. Portion sizes are good. Dietaries are easily catered for.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking out the front and in side streets.
Finally and probably most importantly - the staff are lovely. Very helpful and eager to please.
Would’ve taken more photos but it just seemed inappropriate as it was so busy. But hey Lina’s invite me back and I’ll snap away.
I will return.
A little bit of Paris! Love Lina’s. Excellent wines by the glass. A bargain if you head in for happy hour between 5 and 6.30. But never assume your timepiece is in sinc with Lina’s. lol. This is the place for coq au vin or baked camembert and warm crusty baguette. Sit back, listen to some jazz and breathe.
Lina's hosted a university reunion dinner very recently (27 May 2018) for a large group of us. The service was very courteous (we had our own dedicated waitress who was very attentive and professional), we had a nice warm room, but above all, the meals were magnificent! I had a eye fillet steak which was cooked medium rare -- and it was prepared exquisitely to perfection, with a rich, peppery and flavoursome sauce. Simple, elegant and perfect. The other accompanying dishes were very well prepared as well.
There was a modest but carefully chosen wine list, from which I enjoyed a very nice Pinot Noir and a local Shiraz.
We really enjoyed the service, the atmosphere and the meal. I will be back again!
Tonight unplanned date night. Husband calls Linas to book a table we are told if we could come in half an hr then that would be alright.
So of course we believe its full and we might be turned back. But we get there and it is empty except for a couple in the back and a gentleman at the bar. We go in, and say we called the lovely waiter Lachlan says 'we are waiting for you'...
So then we realize it is public holiday it is not busy so they waited for us! Wow we are speechless. We order the the cured kingfish, chicken parfait and it is absolutely amazing. The fish has this deep beautiful cured taste and a hint of vodka parfait not strong not livery just like beautiful butter. I didnt need bread it was delicious
Mains were duck and beef bourguognon ... oohhh myy my husband loved the duck but the beef was out of this world the spices the meat just cooked to perfection... what a beautiful place... lovely people who basically just had the place opened for us. Date night ✔ great friendly staff ✔ great food ✔
Definitely going again and so looking forward to it... btw did i say that the dessert was yumm yeaas it was creme brulee
I went several times to Bistro Linas in Albert Park. Will definitely go back there.
It's a small French-themed bistro, it feels really intimate and cosy there. I bit far away from the typical Melbourne bar which gives more charm to the place. The perfect place for a romantic date or a dinner with close friends.
They have a great selection of wine from small wineries around Australia, New Zeland and France. The bottles are not that expensive and the wine by the glass taste great too (you can ask to try the wine by the glass or seek for more advice from the waiter).
About the food, just be ready to get addicted because the food is amazing.t
The steak tastes amazing and almost melt in your mouth. One of the best I had in Australia!
I also tried the Maurician beef curry from "the menu du jour": that dish goes wild on the flavour note, the beef is really tender and the veggies were juicy.! it's served generously so I couldn't finish that dish, it was massive.
They have some of the traditional French desserts like creme brulee or chocolate mousse. That creme brulee is the perfect guilty pleasure.
Lina’s has been a good little local for a long time and it’s a perfect spot rain or shine for some sensational steak and frites! The menu is easy going Euro-tastic with a bar menu and a full menu that changes frequently season to season. Grab a stool at the bar and enjoy croquettes, pizza, charcuterie or take on the full menu with baked camembert, French onion soup, garlic prawns, Coq au Vin, Parisian gnocchi and an exceptional pepper steak.
The Paris burger sounds fabulous and it doesn’t disappoint, the most amazing chunky chips and an open top burger with sticky onions and Camembert. Super tasty and super lovely.
Frites are fabo with a lovely aioli and we are happily grazing and enjoying ourselves!

I adore French food, from fine dining, to simple bistro fare, to pastries and cakes. When I got an invite from Lina's Bistro to come and dine at their restaurant, I was already imagining the beautiful French food I could try. I hadn't heard about Lina's Bistro before but later found out it's right opposite the Albert Park Hotel. It's got a cute small shop front where the old skool blue neon sign with the shop's name is in one corner. Inside, the space is a long narrow homely bar and dining area. As it turns out, the restaurant is actually a refurbished house so hence the cosy feeling. The bar area runs along one side wall while the other is lined with spot lit bottles of wine. Posters and framed artwork really give a great ambiance. We were seated at the tables at the back, on simple wooden chairs and tables. We started our meal with some nice Pinot Noir, because wine is the best start to every meal right, right? We shared entrees of the Charcuterie Platter and Crumbed Sardines. I thin
Decadent french dining, cosy quiet atmosphere and fresh rich succulent seafood to match. Service was timely and thoughtful. Ambience exactly what you expect from a tucked away bistro. Hot bread and fresh butter to start then some baked cheese and trout. Scallops melted in my mouth while we were handed extra bread to mop up the juices from the mussel broth. We were the last to leave with no pressure to get out of there, a long relacing dinner and a chat as they packed up around us. Will definitely come back.
Great little wine bar. Love the feel of the front section, intimate and perfect for a little snack or make your way through the menu.
The bread (I know simple) is just always delicious and so crusty!
Parfait - ask for extra bread. It’s sooo good you want to make it last..
Great wine - you can even take away WINNING!

Very cosy wine bar at Albert Park. Great wines, open every day, and savoury bar snacks very satisfying - what more could you want?
We had dinner in this restaurant. Meals were ok, typical Franch. We like their Beaujolais wine, which is not popular much outside of France. Was surprised with white beaujolais, never heard before about white wines from Burgundy. This Chardonnay was not bad at all.
Amazing selection of wine with great daily specials. A lovely French vibe and the live music at the weekends is awesome. One of my favourite restaurants in Albert Park. Also the $5 wine special from 4-6:30 makes it a great place to get in a sneaky one on the way home from work 😉
