My experience here was enjoyable. Zomato has mixed reviews but I remember first coming here at least six years ago and if it's lasted this long on the ruthless Melbourne restaurant scene it's got to be doing something right. It's definitely doing interiors and ambiance right it's housed in a beautiful old bluestone warehouse and the brickwork creates a lovely sense of homeliness. Nothing standout foodwise but pizza rarely goes wrong.
The food and the drinks were sublime. The whole experience left me feeling like a queen. Someone introduced me to Liven and I get to use the app in this resto. It did give me a $50 rebate! What a joy! By far the best restaurant in Melbourne
Meal was average. The pizza was cold once brought out to us and we were still hungry after wards. The food itself was nice though, just didn't have a lot of substance to it. The venue is nicely set up and the staff are very friendly!
Very elegant restaurant with great food and service. The crackling on the pork belly entree was delicious and the scotch fillet was also cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back again.
This restaurant was a great experience from start to finish. Soft music playing in the background, prompt service and excellent dishes.
I had the kangaroo and my partner had the risotto. Both made well, and good value for money.
The main hostess was professional and kind.
Would definitely revisit for a bite before a show or movie.
I believe this place has just changed hands. We enjoyed the pork belly and the steak highly. These dishes were served with a lot of attention to detail. We were made to feel special. It's a mature and romantic atmosphere. Special touches of fresh roses on a display table was a lovely touch. Beautiful building. The kind of place to take your partner be it a first date or an anniversary. Goodluck to the new owners :)
Great fine dining restaurant but little expensive.. Great service and their fries area superb! I ordered 3 entrees of crispy pork, quail and scallop.. It was delicious!
Had dinner here tonight and I have to say it was amazing, food, atmosphere and especially the service, my waiter Adrian was very attentive even though it was quite busy, overall it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
I've been here quite a few times over the last decade or so and the food has been consistently good (save an overly complicated dessert and the chips I had on my last visit - see below).
One overriding warning: the mains are quite small, so I strongly recommend taking them up on the "three sides for $20" arrangement, otherwise you might find the main course not filling enough.
On my most recent visit I had the baked lamb (four tasty but smallish pieces of meat) with the side of chips. They initially forgot the chips we'd ordered as a side so we had to eat them after we were already done with the main (this is a rare error on the part of this restaurant). My dining partner had the swordfish, which was reported as very nice.
Fortunately, the fish came with some lemon which I was able to use to give the (over-cooked and dry) chips some moisture.
My friend had the blueberry sponge for dessert. It looked like a bit of a mess on the plate (kind of what you'd expect if a sponge failed to hold together when being taken out of the pan), but was nice. I had the "deconstructed apple crumble", which was, as advertised, a small pile of poached apple cubes and some crumbs with vanilla icecream.
It's a nice place... perhaps slightly over-priced for the food though.
RNIS was invited to this place by Dimmi and this place is reviewed by Claudia who understood the meaning of fine dining. Bluestone restaurant is a fine dining place and its good for all the fine dining lovers out there. You do need to take your time with your dinner as service is quite slow. I recommend public transport as parking is a hassle.
