I love this place, the decor is like art. The genuine kind, not kitsch stuff! Coffee is super and the vibe is chill. Prices are really good too. Can get a chicken bagel and coffee for a really good, student-kinda fare :-)
It was around 6.30 PM where we went there and the cafe was about to close in 30-45 minutes.
We were around South Melbourne and really keen to grab a quick coffee.
Opened Zomato and found this Park Lane Cafe with great rating.
It's little cafe tucked in Clarendon st, South Melbourne (hidden gem) **Blink Blink**
Arrived in the cafe and saw group of people hang out together and didn't see the barista / customer staff / owner.
Actually the barista was having a warm and friendly conversation with the regular customers, very humble.
We were welcomed by him and he was very nice, friendly and warm.
We loved the table set and interior design of this cafe, it was pretty cool and quirky.
The vibe and atmosphere was very comfortable and cosy.
Owww!! If you love playing board game, there is a antique book shelf containing few board games, books.
Initially, we wanted to grab coffee but we couldn't because he had already cleaned up the machine.
He apologised and explained to us why he closed the coffee order earlier as today he was short of staffs and we totally understood about it.
Anyway, we ordered "Rice Milk Turmeric Latte" for $4.50 instead.
Turmeric latte, are you serious? Yeah, I know we've never tried this before and it was the first time.
He made a really great turmeric latte;
The taste was pretty smooth, balance between ginger and turmeric.
We enjoyed every sip of this turmeric latte up to the last drop.
Actually, it was a healthy drink and had increadible anti-inflammatory.
Anyway, it was recommended! Great taste and you felt warm inside afterwards.
Despite having a short visit, we will definitely come back next time in the morning to try their Reuben sandwich as rumours said that their Reuben sandwich was really good and must to try.

Just a bit off from the main strip of Clarendon St, this quaint little coffee shop serves up my fav coffee, Crompton road by five senses. Nice and cosy place :)
Really lovely place. Staff are all round very attentive and polite; I've only been twice but it was enough to figure out that they go above and beyond.
Coffee is good, but the real draw-card of this place are the toasted sandwiches. The Reuben is amazing!
The place I am staying doesn't have wifi, and this cafe is my favourite around the area where I can work. I love sitting next to the floor-ceiling window, people, doggies passing by, the trees waving their green sleeves, sipping a taste of the coffee. This really helps me to relax my eyes from starring at the screen the whole day. The cafe is cozy sized and comfortably spaced. It has various settings for different needs, either take-away coffee, team lunch meeting, take your kids with you, or girlfriends catch-up, working by yourself...... Those artwork in the cafe brings out a diverse feeling being here. Love coming here over and over again!
For lunch I had the gluten free 'that chicken sandwich'. I asked for it toasted with relish on the side as I've never had in-toasted gluten free bread that I've very much liked. The sandwich came with avocado & rocket as well as mayonnaise. It was tasty! A simple cute little cafe! And I didn't get cheekily charged extra for the GF bread unlike most places....As if it's not already bad enough to live with an intolerance without the extra charge....
Came in for brunch with two others after a morning run. Didn't wait long for a table inside. Best Reuben sandwich I've ever had! Other dishes ordered were avo on sourdough with poached egg and a bagel. Everyone was impressed with the breakfast, although secretly envious of the Reuben. Coffee was so good we ordered a second round. Now that I'm working close by will have to return for midweek lunch.
Diana. Must have hit on a bad day because my coffee was a tad insipid, not a lot of strength to the brew at all. However I have to say the staff were very friendly & the coffee was well poured
Tiny space. Good coffee but the barista often takes your order while on the machine/making another coffee so it is a bit hit or miss if they'll get it right (the specific of your order that is, coffee 7/10 times is great). Great staff, fun, friendly & always up for a chat.
Mornings can be busy.
Best Coffee Experience. I have been to small corner cafes all over the world, and when I am in Melbourne I always find myself addicted to the Park Lane Cafe. First and foremost the coffee is awesome, the baristas really know their stuff whether it be a latte or an espresso. The selection of food it small but all really good, and they say the world's biggest problem is too much choice. The staff are all around friendly and personal able, whether you just want a caffeine hit or to soak up the fantastic cosy atmosphere, this is the place. Cannot speak highly enough of this place.

It's got an old school feel and Harry works hard to keep the place open for the locals. They use Five Senses coffee which I like and they also use Alternative Dairy Co milks. Their iced oat flat white is excellent and the staff are always really nice. You should also try the cookies, especially when they are fresh!
The young girl who served me this morning was so lovely and attentive, I would come back just for the great customer service. It's merely a bonus that the coffee and cabinet food is delicious!!
Highly recommend for a cute spot for coffee & a snack x
Quaint little cafe in South Melbourne, serving descent coffee + helpful, smiley staff and great music/vibe
What a wonderful find today in South Melbourne. A local we stopped to talk with pointed us in the direction of Park Lane Cafe for ‘good coffee made by good people’. We weren’t disappointed! Stopped for coffee, stayed for a lane side lunch- thank you!
The number of small things that Melbourne makes you happier on a daily basis is a never ending process. Finding this laneway cafe is one of them.
I haven't tasted anything out of ordinary here yet, but the coffee here is very consistent, and the kind people who work here, are friendly and makes your day with a smile under the mask.
Uses five senses coffee, not sure of the blend, but the coffee is definitely not worth missing.
Fine little coffee shop on the Clarendon Street strip - they have their own identity in their sit-down coffee and lunches or their lighter window service. I used to come here a lot when I worked in the neighbourhood and I still try and make time to come by whenever I can.
Thorough recommend for anyone in the neighbourhood - come on by and have a good time!
One of the best soy flat whites in Melbourne. All the staff are so friendly, and always take the time to get to know their customers. Service is quick and efficient too.
