I ordered some takeaway due to the corona pandemic and i was blown away at the flavors of the food
Super fast and attentive service, 5 stars for pancake, fried chicken and home-made beverage. Definitely gonna come back after the quarantine.

The famous Korean eatery.
Been here a few times, once two years ago and twice recently.
Basically, the place isn’t big but there are usually lines and it took a while to get a table unless it’s really late/early or if you don’t mind sitting outside.
Food here’s great, like probably one of the best in overall food, especially their beef bulgogi and LA Galbi. Classic flavours, meat was tender and juicy, great portion. Both their kimchi and seafood pancake were great, chewy but crispy with the right thickness. Egg roll was yummy, good size with a good amount of cheese.
Their fried chicken however wasn’t the best, as it was bit dry. Side dishes were kimchi, macaronis and beansprout, all quite nice.
Price was definitely reasonable too.
Overall, it’s famous for a reason, so it’s definitely worth a try.

Craving some good old Korean fried chicken, I came by this place with a friend for a quick fix.
The interior of the restaurant was nice and simple. We had the soy garlic fried chicken and the kimchi pancake. They were quite generous with the side dishes. The kimchi was lovely.
I really enjoyed the fried chicken. The crispy coating was not too thick and the sauce was to die for. The surprisingly spicy kimchi pancake was a tad too doughy but it was still a treat.
I would definitely return just for the fried chicken!
Never let me down. Great place for "after dinner" dinner. Good place for chicken and soju to wind down. Great crowd and super friendly service
As soon as you walk in to Jang Gun, you’re surrounded by the delicious aromas of stir fries, stews and fried chicken. We ended up over ordering but I wanted to eat everything! We ordered the spicy pork bulgogi, la ribs, Kim chi pancake, seafood stew and jap chae. Everything was so tasty but the stand out dish was the ribs. So much flavour and easy to eat. I recommend coming in a larger group to try more dishes.
One of my favourite Korean restaurants in Melbourne - generally go with a group so we've had quite a bit from the menu. The Hot Plates (spicy chicken and cheese and squid/pork belly) were simply fantastic!
Such delicious Korean foods. We wanted to order so much more since everything looked so good. Definitely loved the hot pan chicken and veggies with cheese. There was so much gochujang, so yum!
😱Lizzie’s first impression: This place is honestly my favourite Korean restaurant in Melbourne! I’ve been here more than 10 times and it is consistent everytime. It’s gotten a lot more popular so the line for a seat
is much longer
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I love the seafood rice cakes also known as Tteokbokki - it is a large portion and literally feed more than two. I always add ramen or cheese or both to it. The fried chicken is also very juicy and tender.
I love the spicy chicken from here too - always a pleasure.
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: the wait is very long and they should have a better system than to call out our names given we had to wait almost half an hour at 9.30pm
🥇Lizzie rates overall: A great place for a Korean feast. The food is impeccable!
This is the place to go if you’re ever craving authentic Korean food late at night! I’ve been here a couple of times now.
I love the kimchi pancake from here! I think it’s one of the best ones I’ve tried in Melbourne. Also for the yukgaejang, the amount of beef inside was so much, it was shared between 2 people. And even then, we couldn’t finish the meat! Other dishes are pretty good as well, very hearty & I always leave feeling super full and satisfied.
Finally I found another place that made good, super spicy, korean style chicken feet.
The place does get busy at night and while we were waiting for our food, there's non stop stream of food delivery people picking up orders. Good sign of good food.
I have been to this restaurant quite a few times in the past but only get to do some reviews now.
Food is good, generous portion as we can't finish it all. We might have over-ordered as well. This time round, I found the food is a little bit on a sweet side. I did enjoy it most of it though.
However, kimji soup came in a big pot and pork was cut in a big chunk, hence, very tough to chew. I literally can't chew it. Maybe better slice it thin so you don't have to cook it too long to get it tender. It wasn't pleasant to eat the pork thay chewy. Seafood pancake is ok but not that great. I still haven't found a great pancake in Japanese or korean restaurants yet.
Space is a bit crowded but understandable. We barely have enough space on the table for all our food. Service was average, not overly friendly. The waiter did inform us that 2 protions of rice come with what we already ordered when he saw us ordering 2 extra rice which is attention to details.
If you're looking to have Korean food in the city, this place is one to go for.
17. Fire Korean chicken. Hot!, flavour was nice but was super saucy, will ask for less sauce or for it to be put on the side next time. Waited 20min longer then we were told, not sure if dine in has preference over takeaway orders? Over all it was a good experience. Little expensive, I thought.
10/10 for me. The kimchi stew was so good. The sweet and sour fried chicken was crispy and well seasoned. Definitely coming back to try out the other dishes.
good value for money
all my order is quite yummy and under $20.
recommended seafood tofu soup to ppl who loves strong taste
free side dishes taste normal
the only thing lil annoying is our seats are too close to the door staff come though often (show on photo)
pay by cash can get 5% off
Chicken and chicken feet are definitely nice! Yes, heading back there again for chicken and chicken feet. However, others are a bit too saucy. Still averagely nice, thanks to chicken, I'm coming back there for chicken.
This place is usually packed at dinner time.
Order soy garlic fried chicken, kimchi soup and cheese chicken bulgogi.
The flavor of the fried chicken is different now compare to what they served 1 year ago, it's bit spicy now which I like.
Highly recommend!
