Good Nights is located on the quieter end of Chapel Street on Windsor, but the lack of foot traffic does not mean this place is not popular. Tables started filling up around peak dinner hours, and once you try the food, it’s no surprise while.

The Vietnamese-centric menu showcases a variety of common Vietnamese dishes, but with a twist. The Moreton Bay Bug Glass Noodles and Special Pho with bone marrow and ox tail takes these traditional dishes to another level. The juicy Moreton bay bugs were a delight to eat, and broth of the Special Pho oozed a depth of flavour that makes you slurp up every last drop. For a lighter option, the Calamari and Papaya Salad presented itself to be a flawless palate cleanser with its fresh and bright flavours. The Pipis with Chinese doughnuts came with a sauce that is rich, savoury and bold.

Dessert is a must and the Banana Fritters was just fantastic. The shredded coconut added a crispy and nutty taste to the crispy batter, and you can hear a crunch with every bite. Cocktails are also a must order here. Delicious and the perfect accompaniment to the meal.

With its casual tropical vibe, delicious food and amazing service, you’ll definitely be guaranteed a good night here!

Located a few steps from the Windsor station is this amazing Vietnamese fusion restaurant that serves up a storm when it comes to flavours. Walk into a bright and colourful setting with nice floral theme table cloth. Love the touch of colors used for the décor.

The menu is separated to the various sections where you have your entrees, salads, rice paper rolls, the larger dishes and street food. Took us awhile to decided on what to order as we everything on the menu sounded really good. We finally decided on the special pho with the bone marrow, Calamari and Papaya Salad, Moreton Bay Bug Glass Noodles and the Pipi’s with fried doughnut.
For drinks, I had the Strawberry Sour and a Watermelon cocktail. The cocktails were very light and refreshing and it complemented the flavours in our mains.

The dishes had a reasonable portion and is perfect for sharing. The calamari and papaya salad was very refreshing and the flavours were good. There was a nice balance between the acidity and the mint gives it the extra flavor. We really enjoyed both the Glass noodles and the Special Pho. The special pho was something different, the broth was very rich with flavours and the bone marrow was such a brilliant idea. It is very different and is definitely not your ordinary pho. I love the slightly charred flavours in the glass noodles and the moreton bay bug was nicely seasoned. The pipi’s with fried doughnut was a smart dish, I love how the doughnut sticks was in a nice size and you get to dip them in the sauce with pipis.

For dessert, we ordered the banana fritters to share and I really enjoyed the flavours. The batter was light and not too heavy and it was not overly sweet which makes it a lovely sweet ending to the meal. The staff were very attentive and friendly and they were constantly going to each tables to make sure everything was in order and that their customers are enjoying their meals which really makes a difference all together.

4.5. This place had colourful floral table cloths and very spacious! It's certainly not your usual Vietnamese restaurant - it's one done with a modern twist!

We started off with a TEPACHE MATE - which was a house fermented pineapple juice infused with ginger, spices and yerba mate. Very interesting and refreshing! There's no alcohol in this drink.

Our entrees are:

-SPRING ROLLS WITH BERKSHIRE PORK AND PRAWN: Really crispy and hot spring rolls which came with the traditional lettuce and mint leaves to wrap it in, and dip in fish sauce. Really yummy!

-CRISPY TUMERIC AND COCONUT MINI PANCAKES WITH ROASTED TARO AND CHARRED CORN - This looked really cute! They look like crispy little muffins with a lot of toppings! You can also wrap these in lettuce and mint leaves and dip in fish sauce. Definitely need to try this dish out!

Our mains:

MORETON BAY BUG - with glass noodles, moreton bay bug, chicken, black fungus and onion. I really like the tender and soft moreton bay bug in this dish! The glass noodles went so well with it as it soaked up all the juices from the meat! Delicious!

'SHAKING' BEEF - wok tossed eye fillet, hand-cut chips and watercress - This was some really flavourful tender eye fillet. I think it was a bit too salty for my tastes but when you eat it with the chips, it really balances out the flavour.

For dessert, we had BANANA FRITTER - the batter was thick and coated the banana well. Not oily at all and sprinkled with sesame seeds on top. The ice cream was cold and matched really well with the hot banana fritter. Love this dish!

Thank you for a great night, Good Nights Windsor!

One of my new favourite spots on Chapel. The space is adorable and food is incredible, featuring very traditional Vietnamese dishes with a contemporary spin rather than the fussy fusion dishes a lot of restaurants in the area lean on. The steamed rice rolls are a must try and have the most delicious sauce. I also love the taro, corn and coconut pancakes which are relatively difficult to find in inner city Melbourne. For a main, I tried the curry which comes with rice and is pretty good value for money, with a nicely flavoured base and generous amount of veg. The drinks list is refined, featuring craft beer and natural wine and great cocktails. Such a great addition to the neighbourhood.

You are absolutely guaranteed a good night (or day) dining at this wonderful Windsor establishment. This modern Vietnamese restaurant is so much fun, from it's kitschy decor, it's epic drink selection, amazing food and fantastic, hospitable staff.

Walking in to this open fronted restaurant, you are met with a room full of tables covered in bold floral plastic tablecloths, pink palm trees and a long bar area. The atmosphere alone encourages you to have a great time. Greeted by friendly staff, we are soon settling in with some fantastic wine and beer offerings, while our waiter talks us through the menu. As it was a balmy Summer's night, we opted for some of the lighter dishes, and they definitely didn't disappoint.

First up was the Cuu La Lot, Betel leaf lamb skewers that were fragrant and aromatic, and melted in the mouth. The accompanying sauce was sensational, so much so that we kept it around for all of our dishes. Next up was Banh Khot, mini puffed pancakes topped with prawn and fish roe. Accompanied by lettuce, these small morsels are wrapped in the lettuce, and dipped in a spicy but sweet chilli sauce. Sublime. The prawns were a generous size, the lettuce was so crisp, and the savoury pancakes were a delight.

We then transitioned onto two larger dishes. The Bahn Cuon was two steamed rice rolls filled with grilled eggplant and shitake mushrooms. This unusual dish was jam packed full of flavour, and the soft noodle casing was the perfect vessel for these moreish flavours. Next we tried the Bo Tai Chanh, an exquisite Vietnamese beef carpaccio. This was probably my favourite dish of the night, as the thinly sliced beef was so tender, and the zesty lime dressing had a good kick, and was just so light and refreshing. One of the best carpaccios I've ever had.

We were recommended the Com Ga Dac Biet for our main, and we thoroughly enjoyed this family style chicken dish. The platter was filled with a half roasted succulent chicken, homemade pickled vegetables, charred cos lettuce and a green onion emulsion. On the side was a gleaming bowl of rice topped with potato chips. This was such a generous plate of food, and perfect for sharing. The chicken was so juicy, with perfectly crispy skin and the lettuce, with it's charred flavour was also fantastic. The pickles and emulsion added lots of flavour and texture, and were great sides for the dish.

In between dishes, our waiters remained attentive, topping up our drinks as needed; and I enjoyed several different wines that were matched to the dishes.

Although completely stuffed, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have some banana fritters and ice cream for dessert. This dessert was unlike any of those childhood memories of thick, sickly batter surrounding stodgy banana from your local Chinese restaurant. Instead, our bananas were coated in a super light and crispy tempura batter, drizzled in a light syrup and topped with coconut and flavoured sugar. Such a simple dessert executed so brilliantly that it really beats some of the more elaborate desserts I have had at other places.

Our dinner at Good Nights wasn't just about the outstanding food, although that was excellent and next level good. The overall experience was so memorable, from the eclectic decor and chilled vibe, to the attentive and lovely staff, and the fantastic location on busy Chapel Street. We left Good Nights with a huge smile on our faces, and vowed that it wouldn't be long before we returned for another brilliant night.

We read about this place on Broadsheet and we live close by. Decided to try this place out since we have Zomato Gold. It's an Asian fusion Vietnamese restaurant and the renovation is clean. We had pipi, the beef pho, fried rice with crab meat and coconut cream caramel. Overall the food is good, pho is different to the ones you'd get from traditional pho places, nice and rich and doesn't have alot of MSG taste. Fries rice has the wok taste.

Overall it's good, service was good, but a bit step. We paid $65 for two people which included the free pipi dish. Another note, my beer was a can ($9) not a bottle.

I’m not a fan of Vietnamese food but this one is really worth trying for its excellent food quality at this price range and friendly waiters. The con could be relatively long waiting time for almost every single dish... However, considering the price paid and the overall food quality, the long waiting time might be OK.

Dined for lunch before watching the Top Dog festival at nearby Astor theatre. We shared the fried chicken wings, betel leaf lamb, pork & prawn spring rolls & shaking beef. All the food was well presented & tasty with good flavours. Our waiter was friendly. Will return to try other menu items.

We have been here twice now. My friend said this might be his new favourite restaurant. The food was delicious and fresh. Everything we had was spectacular. When you order rice paper rolls they give you a platter of ingredients and you make them yourselves which was great. We were served by a girl called Shi who was fantastic and very attentive. The decor is really great, upmarket but not fussy.

The service at Good Nights is of a good standard. We sat outside and had the heater kindly switched on for us, water was refilled throughout the meal by the waiters and we were considerately given chili for our orders of pho. The waiting staff were very friendly and pleasant to boot. Even if you aren't vegetarian, the Mushroom Pho will not disappoint. The moment it was severed out, you could take in the aromatics. It smelt good and fresh. Mushrooms were cooked to perfection and were very flavourful. Broth itself was delicious. Would totally order again! If you want to treat yourself to some delicious Vietnamese food after a long work week or otherwise then Good Nights is the place for you! (Their drinks are a treat too!)
