Inexpensive and good quality
Best value Vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne City.
Om Vegetarian is my go to for affordable and homely vegetarian Indian cuisine. Makki roti and saag is a special dish (corn bread and mustard leaf and spinach curry) which costs up to $18 for a serve in other restaurants. Priced at only $10.9 it is a real winner here. Also try the Samosa or Aloo Tikki Chaats for a tasty starter to share or light lunch if travelling solo.

Loved the concept. It brings back the beautiful Indian culture of Annaprabrahma. Good food at affordable price. Caters to wide range of customers across different countries, race and religion. Simplicity of this place is key to it's success. Best wishes to the team and hope to see them open more centers across Australia.
When I’m in need of a quick, cheap and filling meal in the city, Om is my go-to. I love the no-frills environment and the all-you-can-eat veggie thali for $7.50. Considering it contains curries, rice, naan AND mango pickles, the value really can’t be beat. For something slightly more “fancy", Om also now offers a few mock meat dishes which is really exciting. Their vegan desserts also aren’t bad. If only it were open late. I doubt that would ever happen, but I can dream.
The thaali all you can eat for $7.50 is definitely worth it. I really enjoyed the lentil curry and roti bread. The staff are friendly. I will return when in the city and hungry. Great vegan meal.
No Oms and ahs, it’s been a hectic week and that calls for some food delivery! I’ve recently moved houses and have yet to get some appliances so that means eating out (for better or worse) for the next little while. It also meant my first ever experience at Om Vegetarian. It’s been one of the cheap dingy eateries which never really appealed to me. I walked past it a lot. However in the delivery format, it gave us some good vegetarian options and some very good size serves considering the price.
I chose the Thaali Meal, which is now $7.50 - the restaurant is very simple but their dishes definitely delivers! I got two super delicious vegetable curries, rice and naan. The portion I would say is pretty big aka i couldn't even finish it and i am a BIG eater!! Definitely recommended.
My score 4.0 stars. J picked up a TA thali for dinner from here last Wed 9th Jan, after Thai VB nearby had sold out of its specials. She got the $7.50 lunch special which consisted of: Pickles > discovered absent when got home 🙁. Basmati rice > huge serve 👍. Potato & green bean curry > was ok, but the spuds themselves were really salty. Chickpea curry > Quite nice. Butter naan > burnt on one side, no evidence of butter & was as hard as a rock 🙁. Too stiff to soak up the gravy, in the end we used it as (very) crisp bread for another meal (which worked - hate to waste food)! Overall > Service was ok, food was still very good value (problems & all) - would be a steal if eating in, as you can have seconds! BTW - best TA container we've ever seen (no leakage - seals like Fort Knox) 😄...
Work just around the corner and needed a quick feed. Looked tasty and fast so gave it a go. Got the Thaali, which seems to be the easy go to (3 curries, rice and bread). At the time of writing, $7.50 with refills. Been a couple of times and haven't needed to get a top up. All very tasty!. It is a cheap and cheerful place so don't expect table service. It does get busy during lunchtime. Give it a go.
I enjoyed the food and I had good customer service. I really enjoyed the fact that they also catered to my dietary requirements of having gluten free options. The all you can eat option at $7.50 was great value for money.
It’s my first time in Melbourne, I am from Singapore. Om Vegetarian is my first place for lunch such a nice and lovely food and great deal Awesome and friendly staff( Raveer, Simmi & Nav)👌 Can’t wait time come back again.
Good food at very reasonable price! All you can eat option is exceptional value. Can be tricky to find, just wander through the arcade and you'll get there.
Food was fantastic and flavorful. It was nice to be able to walk in and know everything is vegetarian. They checked on us and offered more naan. We wish we had of eaten there at the beginning of our holiday. Highly recommended!! 😊
For their price of $7.50 for an all you can eat Thali, everything's super good!
