Review Aqua S - Melbourne

Bill Mrozek
Soft serve ice cream. Lots of extras. Just went for a cup of chocolate and peanut butter. Very tasty. Just the thing for a warm day. There are a couple of tables outside but mist would be take away.

Unfortunately they only had burnt caramel and sea salt flavours when we went in, but they were still good! Got one with the rocky road and one with the macaron topping. Not bad for its price!

Friendly service. Had the choc peanut butter flavour and was a bit disappointed as flavour wasn’t punchy choc or punchy peanut butter and texture of soft serve was very dense compared to Sydney branches.

This place is THE best ice cream place in Melbourne and every time I visit I make sure to get some! Who doesn’t love soft serve! The usual sea salt flavour is creamy, sweet and salty and I recommend mixing it with another seasonal flavour, it makes for a great combo. They change the seasonal flavours about every 2 weeks. Overall this is my favourite ice cream place in Melbourne.

Ice cream was pretty good. Was pretty busy when I went but there was only one worker there, she was doing amazing juggling all the customers! Pretty nice place, would recommend trying!

I went to Aqua S to try their iconic sea salt ice cream, which was pretty amazing despite not being a fan of salty sweet flavours. These sweet/salty flavours were paired with Vietnamese coffee’s bitter and sweet. Topped with a giant grilled marshmallow, the ice cream was simply a treat.

Delicious ice cream. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are so many ice creams here that I love, tonight’s Chocolate and peanut butter was the absolute best!! Thanks for taking pride in what you do and for such a friendly service always.

Their unique sea salt ice cream is a must try and cookies and cream with brownie. It’s sooooo good

Insta: melbfoodie_mark<br/>YT: MelbFoodieMark<br/>** Check them out for more food reviews in Melbourne!<br/>-<br/>Does it look good? Yes. Is it Instagram worthy? Sure. But will I go back? Pshh, Never. A classic example of "aesthetics over taste". I tried their iconic sea salt ice cream which tasted okay - a combination of savoury and sweet. It sure was interesting but definitely not interesting enough considering its price.<br/><br/>Overall, I still think it's worth a visit because it does look gorgeous and sea salt ice cream is indeed unique enough for you to try it at least once. But just be aware that you are essentially paying for the aesthetics of the soft serve than the actual taste.

The home to amazing soft serve! Absolutely love how they always have different flavours and my favourite has got to be their sea salt soft serve. <br/><br/>Its so different and i love the balance between sweet and salty, the textures of the soft serve are so smooth and i really enjoyed it<br/><br/>Cant wait to them to bring on the pandan soft serve because it was amazing

I had the pleasure of trying Aqua S new creations - ice cream popsicles! They come in two flavours - Black Hawaiian (vegan) and Taro OG (gluten free).<br/><br/>I loved how the ice cream was very light here, whilst still smooth and creamy. It’s very refreshing, not too sweet, and easy to gobble down without making you feel full. My favourite was the Taro OG - I loved the white chocolate coating which gave it a bit of crunch, and the taro chips at the bottom were so addictive! The taro ice cream also has adzuki beans inside which is a great combo! The Black Hawaiian was on the softer side - the ice cream is made from coconut and cacao. It’s a very subtle and unique flavour, and the texture is quite soft and creamy. I loved the crushed biscuit “sand” base (which is also vegan). Both popsicles were beautifully presented!<br/><br/>It’s so good to see Aqua S getting some products that cater to different dietary requirements! I’d definitely recommend giving it a go!

No one other than AquaS can do soft serve in the best possible and fancier way. Sea salt is classic, but the limited edition combo each month are simply to die for. By far my most favorite have been honey milk sea salt soft serve, its so heavenly in taste that it literally makes you fall in love with soft serve in a brand new way. Love the pastel and insta worthy decor of their store, not much of seating space is there, yet outside the store you will find quite a lot of seating space. The prices are really affordable, and the beautiful soft serve are so much awesome in taste. Staff are always friendly and attentive. And this dessert place is highly recommended to one and all.

Legit the best tasting icecream ever!!! 🤩 I love how every month they come up with a new creative flavour too. Although the sea salt will always be my fave 👌🏼😋🤤
FoodieQueen21
At first I was hesitant to try the sea salt ice cream, it just sounds weird isn’t it. But, this ice cream place is known for their unique monthly special flavors and this time they had the lindt & caramilk chocolate special items, so I decided to go for it.<br/><br/>I was sooo surprised at how good the flavor actually is! Although the flavor is called sea salt, its way different that what I’ve imagined. The red velvet ice cream flavor was amazing as well.<br/><br/>Now i’m 100% addicted to this ice cream and i’ll definitely be back for more 😍

I had the lychee rose icecream with sea salt ice cream, it is so yummy but the lychee ice cream is seasonal, so I miss it so much!!! The sea salt is also tasty!!!

Swimming in happiness! 🥰🥳<br/><br/>So, I’m sure you all know what a soft serve is 🍦 but do you know what a sea salt soft serve is?!<br/><br/>Well, if you’ve been in Japan you probably do and you might have tried some of these amazing whipped and extra smooooth cones! But if you haven’t (or even if you have 🤭) then this is THE place to try it!<br/><br/>Their signature soft serve is aqua blue in colour but they change flavours very frequently and have limited editions (including vegan ones!). And if a blue wavy looking soft serve wasn’t bold enough, these guys actually face the bravery of the oceans and not only can be found right in Melbourne CBD (most convenient places of all times!) but they have sailed and conquered the world and have stores even in the USA!<br/><br/>Seems magical? Well, it gets better! 😱<br/><br/>Exclusive to Australia, the team has decided to collaborate with Anushka, one of the top 6 contestants MasterChef Australia and (who I have met personally and is the the most humble and at the same time talented person ever!) and taking that sea salt soft serve to a whole new level with her famous Honey Cakes 🧁👆 <br/><br/>Blue icecream? Magical layered cakes? Too extra? Oh friend, you WANT to be that 👌 bit extra here 🤤 SO GOOD!<br/><br/>Here’s what I had:<br/><br/>- Original Honey Cake Creation by the amazing Annushka from MasterChef Australia, with Signature Sea Salt x Black Hawaii: The cake is a rich, sweet Russian honey cake filled with indulgent layers of soft sponge and custard cream as well as honey thyme syrup and honeycomb and it is a true delicacy! I must highly how spongy and soft it is, quite similar to a Chinese sponge cake, but slightly more dense, and how the creamy layers are ideally placed, creating an increase in sweetness, but not overdoing it at the same time! This original version in particular is quite caramel/honey based and if you are a true sweet based foodie I think you’ll be dazzled by this option (if you don’t tolerate too much sweetness in one go I would definitely recommend the chocolate one as it certainly is slightly less sweet!). I decided to pair it with a mix of the famous AquaS Sea Salt along with their special flavour of Black Hawaii and I must say that what stands out with these soft serves is how incredibly creamy and light they are! Of course, not to mention the instagramable look and the incredible colours that obviously capture anyone’s attention. The taste is very enjoyable of both and while the sea salt tastes like vanilla or just something sweet, the Hawaii one has a coconut flavour that I absolutely loved! Size is not massive but appropriate and by itself it’s not very filling, so I would certainly recommend getting it with one of their special deserts! On a further note, I will like to add that actually also melt quite easily (even for a day that wasn’t too hot!) and that don’t even bother spending too much time admiring these because they will melt pretty soon 😂 they also add some special flowers (both sweet decorations and sprinkled with dried flowers!) and overall I enjoyed this one amongst the three desserts but I would rate it as the third favourite, because the other ones stood out slightly more 🤗<br/><br/>- Santa’s Milk and Cookies with Signature Sea Salt x Black Hawaii - one of their special deserts and my second favourite! It’s basically a little waffle cone with some of their AquaS soft serve that can be served as one or two flavours, as with any of their other items. I actually love that you have the possibility of choosing one flavour or both, because it allows the customer to have the possibility of personalising more their little treat! 👏 unfortunately when I visited, they didn’t have Santa cookie to place in front of the ice cream but nonetheless the cup was filled with not only the softserve with the two flavours as described above but also two chocolate chip cookies that I personally really enjoyed - fudgy, not too sweet and just of good size! Again with flowers and decorations, the dessert is very pretty and they even add a strawberry/raspberry couli that makes it so extra special - absolutely loved the taste! I see this as a little pot of gold indeed and would definitely recommend 👏<br/><br/>- Chocolate Honey Cake Creation by Anushka with Signature Sea Salt x Royal Milk Tea: again, here I had the chocolate version of the honey cake and this was my absolute favourite! I think the sweetness of the cake and it’s layers is cut short surprisingly by the chocolate used and it doesn’t become overly sweet as some might find it with the caramel honey one. Th disposed layers are quite similar but I found this one even more fudgy and a winner amongst all. Topped with a decadent chocolate sauce it is sublime and makes everyone drool. No doubt whatsoever! The royal milk tea soft serve is very enjoyable and it feels that it may have maybe a hint of caramel? It paired really nicely as did the sea salt soft serve and I a total fan of this dessert creation!<br/><br/>It was amazing to try these special desserts and to support someone so talented as Anushka that has such a kind heart and some masterful hands! I seriously cannot highlight the team from AquaS from bringing such amazing treat from Japan!<br/><br/>And finally, I’ll leave you with some news: they will have their Signature Sea Salt also in a vegan version pretty soon! And not only that, but there are some vegan surprises coming soon! 😍

We were lucky enough to join the launch of Aqua S and Anushka’s Kitchen’s Honey Cake X Sea Salt creation recently and we fell in love!<br/><br/>We loved the ice cream - definitely very refreshing and perfect for summer! The honey cake was also perfect! I can’t believe how much I loved honey cake! It was the right level of sweetness and it was just divine! There were 2 flavours - chocolate and strawberry. Both were good, but our fave was the chocolate, wishing I could have another one right now!
Sweetoothbrunches
I just love the creations ice cream is creamy and presentation is on point. I'll definitely be coming back

Novel ice cream shop at QV. Didn’t know what to expect, but it seems they always have sea salt flavour ice cream and then two other flavours on rotation. I had mango with sea salt and some honeycomb pieces stuck to the side. They do fairly generous EatClub deals too. I’d come back to try another flavour. Don’t be put off by the idea of sea salt ice cream - it was really good!
Gerald Lim
Terrible flavours and manager, would not recommend
JOELLE
Finally got my hands on these guys!<br/><br/>The place is a little bit small with only a few seats, but we were the only customers at the time. Staff was super friendly, we came with eatclub and redeeming process was swift. She actually made me a new cone because she said the previous was too skinny (I didn't actually think so but that was nice!)<br/><br/>Sea salt x Spooky Berry. <br/>The sea salt flavous had a hint of saltiness in it, which I loved, while the later taster like berry. The texture of the ice cream was super creamy, and both was just the right amount of sweet. Works wonders together! <br/><br/>My sis got the slimy brulee and it was tad bit savory and was as yum as the other two. <br/><br/>Overall I loved their soft serve and couldn't stop eating it 😋<br/><br/>( follow for more!✨)<br/><br/>xx,joelle.

This cute little ice cream shop in the QV Centre has seriously good icecream, that looks as good as it tastes. It's a compact space inside with just a few tables, but there are also a few tables outside. There are lots of cute touches around the place, and the staff are very nice even though it gets quite crowded and hectic here.<br/><br/>I prefer to grab my ice cream on the run, and there are plenty of places to sit in the greater QV area. The ice cream itself is really good. The signature sea salt flavour is an iridescent blue soft serve and has a perfect texture and flavour. I enjoy the slight saltiness as it adds an unexpected touch. There is a rotating menu of other flavours, and I tried the chocolate whiskey which again was really good especially in the choc dipped cone. Aqua S is definitely the spot to stop for a yummy ice cream with some interesting twists and flavour combinations.

This place is either a hit or a miss for me. They try to be unique with the flavours but it can get quite sickening after a while of eating it. Not terrible but not worth its hype either.
Eat_today_diet_tomorrow
Been here a few times and we always get the sea salt and whatever is on the menu, which gets changed quite often. Very unique and also full of gimmicks. Fun, light and refreshing ice cream.
The Superscript Diner
❤️ Off to the movies ($7.90); Double Pop ($7.50)<br/><br/>👥 Everyone orders individual soft serve <br/><br/>👍 Very generous serving size [1]; both workers were very calm and relaxed, and showed a high level of expertise when making each of the dessert; cool and refreshing indoor setup <br/><br/>👎 Indoor tables needed wiping [2]<br/><br/>🕓 Relatively busy at 8 PM Friday night, food comes out within 5 minutes <br/><br/>✏️ [1] You get a lot in a large cup; eating it in summer with a small spoon is a blast <br/>[2] Understandably difficult as there were only two people working, and it was constantly busy
Rebecca Balsim
Loved the ice cream! I tried their Halloween special “slime brûlée” (basically just crembrûlée) mixed with sea salt. It was incredible!<br/><br/>Fairy floss is great to look at and cute for a photo but makes the ice cream impossible to eat. <br/><br/>Service was also fantastic!
Timinmelbourne
I haven’t been here for a while so I called in to see if the soft serve was still as good as I remembered. Well let’s just say that I wasn’t disappointed. OMGosh hahaha <br/><br/>This is still ice cream at another level, it’s creamy, flavoursome and silky smooth. Just perfect really. <br/><br/>On this trip I tried the “Spring is in the air” version which was a chocolate dipped spiralled cone, marshmallow, and house made chocolate bark w chocolate whisky and sea salt ice cream! <br/><br/>And the service was absolutely lovely from the waitress who served me. <br/><br/>Enough said, this place is definitely worth a visit! <br/><br/><br/>2018 Review <br/>I like soft serve and this place was at another level! The service was ok, although it appeared to be a bit disorganised.<br/><br/>I ordered Rose latte and Sea salt soft serve in a cup. The rose latte was excellent, soo delicious, the soft serve was creamy and it had a silky texture. It was AMAZING!! Hahaha <br/><br/>The Sea Salt was good too, but the winner was definitely the Rose latte! This place is definitely worth a visit! Enjoyed

A few days ago, I was invited to try out the 'very grammable' but also delicious soft serves and dessert menu at QV AquaS. Their signature flavour is the 'sea-salt' presented in the prettiest blue colour (the owner, Jennifer Lam developed this idea of a sea salt flavoured soft serve after visiting Okinawa, a Japanese island famous for its sea salt).<br/><br/>Apart from the signature sea salt flavour which is available at all times, there are also other flavours which are on rotation (the current ones are ovaltine and chocolate whiskey). And if you want something more decadent, you could try out the new dessert options like Breakfast Staple, Childhood Campfire, Off to the Movies, Festival of Lights (inspired by the Indian festival, Diwali). Check out my Instastories for more images.....<br/><br/>My favourite was the signature sea salt, the balance of flavours was really enjoyable.
Putriku
Decent soft serve ice cream joint. The sea salt flavor is very impressive , specially when mixed it with the ovaltine. Better buy it in the cup than the cone , as you get bigger size . Service is great and the place is bright and cute,

<br/>Aqua s is a cute ice cream shop located in QV Melbourne. Theres a great selection of unique flavours and each one we tried was deliciously creamy and almost to pretty to eat. The soft serve is easily the best I’ve ever had, I highly recommend the sea salt and black sesame. The service was super friendly, and I’m sure we will be back for more soon.<br/>
Alvin Lee
Came by yesterday to try out the new flavour: HoneyDew Melon. I think the flavour was alright. I actually preferred the Royal Milk Tea flavour which was available a couple months back. <br/><br/>I decided to try out the Special Spring Topping which was the flowers on top of the ice cream. I felt that paying $1.50 for those flowers may be slightly pricey? But I did so anyway just so it’ll look nicer. There was also the flavoured cone which was an additional $1.<br/><br/>In the past I chose the popcorn and marshmallow topping. I don’t usually put toppings on mine, but these 2 toppings went really well with the ice cream! Would definitely recommend trying these!
I'm Batman
I could just say the sea-salt soft serve was unexpectedly good, and it is. The taro was so-so though overall it's pretty good.<br/><br/>Might just come back every so often. Maybe lychee next time...
AngeLuvFood8
Aqua S describes their soft serve flavours as 'adventurous, irresistible, tasty, a work of art'<br/>What do you think?<br/><br/>I think that Aqua S is a novelty. They try to keep enticing customers to return with their change of menu flavour options every 2 weeks. <br/>But I think this can only last for so long when the flavour options are so limited.<br/><br/>🔆LOCATION🔆<br/>Aqua S shop is located within the large QV Centre complex along the busy Red Cape Lane which houses a number of Asian drinks and sweet stores.<br/><br/>Aqua S shop can easily be spotted with its colourful pastel colours.<br/><br/>There are limited number of stools inside their shop should you wish to take a seat, but I find it odd they placed in a row along the wall. <br/><br/>🔆SERVICE🔆<br/>It's very basic service. Place your order at the counter and wait for your order to be called.<br/><br/>🔆MENU/PRICE🔆<br/><br/>Cost is $4.75 for a soft serve ( in a cone or a cup).<br/><br/>From 1st to 15 August 2019 these are the flavours: <br/>Raspberry Mascarpone<br/>Yin Yang (鴛鴦) a popular East Asian drink also known as Coffee Milk Tea ☕️<br/><br/>You can have these flavour alone or mixed with Aqua S signature Sea Salt.<br/>What I find annoying with the menu on the screen, it doesnt describe what 'Yin Yang' is. So for those that dont know it would be quite frustrating, a simple additional line added below the flavour would be most helpful.<br/><br/>2 weeks ago when I visit the flavours were (15 - 31 July 2019):<br/>Hong Kong Milk Tea<br/>Peanut Butter<br/><br/>My suggestion is if you want to keep tabs on flavours, check their instagram. <br/><br/>🔆VERDICT🔆<br/><br/>I've been here a few times now, so I can give a proper review of Aqua S.<br/>I have had enough of their so called signature 'Sea Salt' flavour. It's getting boring now. I dont particularly want to mix with Sea Salt and they should introduce other flavours as alternative to the Sea Salt for variety.<br/><br/>On this most recent visit I said I wanted to try both new flavours in a cone - Raspberry Mascarpone and Yin Yang (鴛鴦). As these flavours are in separate machines, they can only be added 1 flavour on top of each other. Whereas if one had selected 1 flavour & Sea Salt then they would be together in mixed swirl.  The guy at the counter asked which flavour I would prefer to be at the top of the cone, I decided on the Raspberry Mascarpone. What I realised that I was given a very generous amount of this flavour and the Yin Yang was very minimal (which was fine with me). I found the Yin Yang was way too bitter and I guess that would have been a good mix with the Sea Salt to balance out the flavour. I would never opt to order this flavour alone, unless you seriously love super strong Yin Yang. I quite like the Raspberry Mascarpone but after a while it was a bit too sickening.<br/><br/>2 weeks ago when I visited I ordered the HK Milk Tea & Sea Salt.  The HK Milk Tea was delicious but to be honest it did not go well with the Sea Salt. Kind of odd flavours mixed together.<br/><br/>I would prefer if they had different flavour of waffle cones, that would be more interesting.<br/>Not sure if I would be back again, even though I am a huge dessert/ice cream lover.  It just doesnt really appeal to me. I think it would appeal more for the mid 20's and below (including kids who would love the combination with fairy floss). I have never ordered with fairy floss as I think its an odd mix and would be too sweet for me.
Lizzie Eats Melbourne
😱Lizzie’s first impression: Aesthetically pleasing, but the craze is now over and I just want more? <br/><br/>🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I've tried this in Sydney and in Melbourne before and they're very consistent. They have many cool flavours like sea salt and grapefruit. <br/><br/>🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: I don't see why it's so pricey - it's literally just icecream that looks cooler than usual because of its colour and they top it with a cloud of fairy floss. It's way too messy to eat in my opinion and really nothing special. <br/><br/>🥇Lizzie rates overall: unsure about the hype and prefer other icecream places over this one unless they introduce more flavours and ideas.
Oodreiilittlepotato
Used to try new flavour every 2 weeks! Havent had it for awhile however one thing for sure. Their ice cream is really nice, creamy and tasty. The sea salt itself really balance the whole flavour! :)
Chow Kit
I like how the ice cream shop have seasonal soft serve flavours, but you have to check online for the flavour deciding whether to eat it or not. It tastes quite good actually.
Cindy Tran
There was definitely a good amount of hype surrounding this soft serve place in Q.V., and I can totally understand why. Love their small yet cute shop amongst the ever so busy rooftop. <br/><br/>Ordered:<br/>Sea salt x Thai milk tea soft serve $4.75 <br/><br/>Review: <br/>The sea salt ice cream is amazing, love that they didn’t go soft on the salt and you could really taste the salt in the sweet, light creamy soft serve. It is definitely an acquainted taste, so it’s either you love it or hate it. The soft serve itself if smooth and ridiculously creamy, it was light and airy it almost tasted like meringue! I would love the Thai tea even more if it was on the stronger side, I missed the authentic bitter taste of the Thai tea which was quite disappointing. The service was quick and nice, the proportion was reasonable as well! Thank you aqua s for having us.
Kirara Noms
New flavours of the month again and had to comeee because the flavours caught my eye for sure!<br/>Thai milk tea definitely had the taste and really enjoyed it! Blueberry apple pie had some kind of magical taste in it and blueberry scent. Aqua S now has more fairyfloss options (swipe right) and the pink raspberry definitely was more sweet raspberry taste. That being said no more cloud sky wall in Aqua S

I've eaten here many times over the past few years. When it first opened, it was super busy with a long queue. It's a lot quieter now but remains a QV staple. At first, I didn't like the sea salt ice cream but now I LOVE it. They have a pretty cool concept where they change flavours a lot. My favourite was red velvet.
Some Bunee Loves Food
I totally love this place! they have different flavours twice a month! Their flavours are always so good.<br/><br/>The flavour that always stays is the sea salt (blue). Really nice savoury salty taste, but it's not for everyone. You can put toppings on it, but I only really like the mochi balls which can be placed only in a cup.<br/><br/>The flavour I love at the moment is their Earl grey. Such great tasting ice cream.
Ebony Rose
What a fun creation!!! Sea Salt and Royal Milk Tea soft serve in a waffle cone surrounded by fairy floss and a roasted marshmallow...What else could you ask for?! 😍
Lily Tang
I used to come here often during summer and I actually haven’t tried the og sea salt flavour because my friends said it was bad but I loveee how their flavours change regularly. I loveee the taro and pandan flavour the inside is also realllyyy pretty with all the colourful wallpaper for that Insta perfect picture

AquaS is located along the stores at the QV. It’s a small store that sells delicious soft serve ice creams. <br/>They are iconically known for their sea salt ice cream flavour and their forenightly changing flavours. Every 2 weeks (on the 1st and 16th of every month), there will be two new flavours that are all exotic. <br/><br/>I Iove to mix sea salt with another flavour, it makes a beautiful picture. Although it not that cheap, it is worth a try. I look forward every forenight to see what new flavours are available.<br/>I will be sure to come back to have some more ice cream!!
Ahh_Blueberry
3.5/5<br/><br/>Aqua S is an aesthetic little ice cream shop in QV, and every now and then they change up their flavours, which means that it’s possible to have a new experience each time you visit. <br/>This time, I was able to try the Earl Grey soft serve (in a cone, although it’s the same price in a cup as well), which was very pleasant and not too sweet. There’s also toppings such as mochi pieces or a fairy floss cloud that can help complete the look of the soft serve, but I personally think that it tastes nice just on its own too. Although the price of $4.75 appeared a little pricey at first, the staff gave a generous amount which made the price seem reasonable.

The popping candy transports me to my childhood. I love the ever changing of flavours. They are always unique and delicious. Love the accompaniments to the ice cream
Johnny Chan
YUM!!!! The ice cream was very creamy. The atmosphere is good for taking photos. Really nice place to take your date to. Everything looks good.. interior design ice cream placement. The way they serve it. it's like a work of art.
Maria Condello
Cute little shop inside QV, not many tables/seats inside so it's best to get takeaway. Very reasonable prices, given how much soft serve you get and all the staff are pros at getting the perfect swirl. <br/><br/>Went to try the limited edition rum and raisin hot cross bun flavour and it was delicious but tasted more like a standard rum and raisin. Have had the signature sea salt flavour before and it's fantastic. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the city.
Sammy
Unusual soft serve taste with se salt as main flavour. Love the coffee and sea salt flavour. It’s sweet bitter and salty in one bite. Would love to try another flavour next time
Megha Agarwal
We had the sea salt ice cream with the milo milkshake ice cream, topped with a grilled marshmallow. The taste of the two flavours combined was amazing and a must try.
Eliza T
The sea salt soft serve is nice and the colour looks pretty but it is just a soft serve. People would go for the fairy floss because it looks pretty but it's a bit too much, probably just a personal preference.
Jacynda Darmawan
I have always been a sucker for savory desserts. Love the sea salt ice cream!<br/><br/>The texture of the ice cream is super soft and creamy in general. I’ve tried a couple of flavors so far and I think they have nailed almost every single one of them. Watermelon pear, kinder bueno, lavender honey, hazelnut, thai tea, and others. They come in such pretty pastel colors too!
Linda
They have got the sundae texture and taste down pat!! The sea salt sundae was as impressive to look at as it was to eat. The toppings were excessive, but enjoyable and dramatic for the kids.
Hon
Been here when they just opened.<br/>The decor looks very clean and sleek.<br/>When i saw people queuing, i was corious to try it.<br/>Service was very good, friednly staff and the idea of the soft serve is very interesting.

The popularity of Aqua S in Sydney meant that I had to give it a go here in Melbourne. Although the iconic flavours like Sea salt had never really appealed to me, I was surprised with how enjoyable it was after I finally decided to try it, nothing like I had imagined! Whilst it is relatively expensive, you are paying for the aesthetics of the soft serve- where you can even choose to have it with fairy floss! <br/>Love their changing menu concept on a bi monthly basis, so I’ll certainly be back to try some more inventive and fun flavours in the future!
Cindy
The fairy floss machine is never working when I come in but last night the fairy floss gods blessed my ice cream! Strawberry and lychee was this fortnight’s flavours! Absolutely yummy silky soft serve ice cream. A must have on these warm summer nights!
Angel Khong
I went to Aqua S to try their iconic sea salt ice cream, which was pretty amazing despite not being a fan of salty sweet flavours. The salty sweet flavour was paired with Vietnamese coffee’s bitter and sweet. Topped with a giant grilled marshmallow, the ice cream was simply a treat.
Brahmjot Kaur
The yummiest ice cream flavour- rose latte and pandan vanilla. Totally worth the money. Happy and friendly staff. Add ons are perfect for your insta stories😄
Vivian Ziwei Cheng
Rose latte + sea salt twisted cone<br/>Love the flavour it brought to me!<br/>Not too sweet! Love it!<br/>Before I thought it used eatable Conor to make it colourful but then when I really got a taste of it! It’s really the mix of freshness of sea salt and creamy* but bitter of rose latte!
Crabapples For Lunch
Been here several times. They change flavours every 2 weeks, apart from the sea salt flavour that is always available. This time we had a Pandan vanilla with sea salt ice cream.<br/><br/>The sea salt flavour goes well with many of the rotating flavours they have on offer, and has a uniqueness that does not make one get tired of it as easily. However, we have had friends that thought the flavour was confusing. The Pandan was great and a flavour that is not often available elsewhere - I had one even though I was already full. Texture of the ice cream is always quite well done - soft but not melting.<br/><br/>At $4.75 it's worth a try if there's a flavour you like, but a little expensive otherwise. I believe it used to be $4, and I probably would be hesitant to keep coming if the price went up further.
Moieats
Great location! <br/>One of the best soft serve in town! They come up different flavors every fortnight which is interesting. My favorite would be the delightful matcha green tea with yummy crunchy waffle cone which was enjoyable. Perfect summer dessert!
Simmyeats.Melb
Sea salt and citrus honey grapefruit was the choice at Aqua S, strange combos but definitely ones that worked.<br/><br/>The sea salt was an interesting flavour, the vanilla ice cream nice and creamy with a hint of sea salt which was good.  The citrus and honey grapefruit was sweet and sour at the same time and refreshing.  <br/><br/>Both ice creams were like a soft serve texture, very yummy.
1love875
The seasalt soft-serve is pretty consistent and really yummy. The fancy flavours they introduce every two weeks, are innovative but sometimes the taste doesn’t live up to its interesting name. Must try if you like salty soft-serve. The place is brightly coloured but so stuffy without air-conditioning in hotter days. Not a place to hang out for sure. Customer service?.... Next.
Karma Clarke
Fun and a bit gimmicky. This place is made for the Insta! But that isn’t a bad thing - ice cream is sweet, toppings are gorgeous and they come out with new flavours every few weeks. The classic blue sea salt flavour is a must try!
Constantlyeating
I like the idea of changing flavours up regularly since it creates more excitement for customers. <br/>The Red Velvet and Milk Tea didn’t haven’t strong flavours, but it was definitely there after a few mouthfuls. <br/>The store is quite stuffy and small with limited seating.

Haven’t come here in a long time and wanted to come for their sea salt and salted caramel.. turns out that they only had sea salt, tofu & mango cheese.. they advised that their machine was out of order and they had to split the cone into half flavors on the bottom and top instead of the standard way of mixing flavors.. the tofu was boring and tasted just like vanilla the sea salt was watery too..<br/>Probably wont come back again.. customer service was below expectation.. it was a pretty bad experience..

Visited this place so many times, love their sea salt ice cream, super super delicious!! And don’t forget to try their seasonal ice cream flavours, they taste good too.

The best soft serve in town! 🍦 Their signature sea salt flavour is very tasty and they change up their flavours twice a month - and I haven’t had one I didn’t like!

If you like salted caramel ice cream, you'd like this place! Their best selling ice cream is the sea salt flavour ice cream. Definitely give them a check if you want a new dairy experience!

We went into Aqua S ice-cream on a whim and I am so glad I did! <br/><br/>I tried the Blueberry Cheesecake flavor and it was my first time trying Aqua ice cream. The texture was absolutely silky, and it was not as sickly sweet as some ice-creams are! The blueberry flavor was delicious and decadent. Overall, super-creamy and satisfying. I also love the black ice-cream cone. Topped off with some popping candy, it was a perfect reminder of childhood fun.<br/><br/>There were other fun toppings like marshmallows and cotton candy! The shop had only two flavors on hand which is how I think they usually function. <br/><br/>The toppings cost extra depending on what you get so your ice-cream cone total can be as high as $10 or more.<br/><br/>Giving 4 stars because of the service, our servers were super distracted on their phones/i-pads and I was a bit lost on how/what to order since it was my first time at an Aqua S store.  <br/><br/>

Cute little shop that you can take some nice aesthetic photos in. Tried the coffee ice cream and it was quite good. Not too sweet and you could taste the coffee easily, but it wasn't overpowering. The texture of the ice cream was perfectly creamy.

After a not-so-good lunch, visited this place for some dessert. Ordered the coffee ice cream with fairy floss topping. It was just toooo yummm! Definitely value for money.

I'm a huge fan of Aqua S, i think their whole concept of changing ice cream flavours every fortnight is really unique and it's one of the reasons why I keep coming back so frequently, though lately it's been harder to do so. A friend and I have noticed that only in a couple of months, the sizes of their cups have gone progressively smaller. I've been coming to this place since last year and the size back then was double of what it is now. I don't mind that they had a decision to change; as one of the reasons could be to match their other competitors, but a suggestion would be that there should have been a notice for their customers about the changes. Overall, I still would come back to Aqua S as you really can't find any other place like this one but not that frequently anymore unfortunately. The price for how much you get doesn't make much sense anymore and would only drop in occasionally to try an interesting flavour.

3/5 Taste<br/>4.5/5 Display <br/>3/5 Quantity <br/>3/5 Customer Service <br/><br/>Fancy Ice cream shop with weird flavours.<br/><br/>Looks pretty and pretty interesting.<br/>Best fitted for Instagram selfies, nothing more.<br/>Taste wasn’t too bad but I wouldnt pay that much for what I got.
Munching With Mel
I cant say it was bad, but the tiramisu tasted a bit like chocolate. The marshmallow and pocky surprisingly complemented the icecream with its soft fluffy taste. Overall, I wouldn’t add the extra elements, but I wish they could bring back the pandan flavour :(

One of my favourite dessert places and the price is super reasonable. In love with the sea salt flavour ☺️👌 will always keep going back for dessert here. The card minimum is $10, so bring cash if you spend under.

Blue sea salt scoop surrounded in a cloud of fairy floss. There are other toppings too, like sweet popcorn, pop-rock candy and a flame-grilled marshmallow. It’s wonderfully weird and a must on your dessert hit list.

Delicious ice cream. Every time we go I have to get the sea salt and whatever special they have on. My fave so far has been sea salt and taro. Always drop by when I'm in the city for dinner.
Tinmans Treats
I go here a few times a year depending on the flavour. Every fortnight they change the flavours. The constant flavor is sea salt which you can get individually or swirled against the flavour of the fortnight. The sea salt cuts through the sweetness of the other flavour.<br/><br/>I enjoy the soft serve here. The flavours are fun. There's only a few seats so it's definitely a get in get out sorta place. The interior is deliberately done so you can do your obligatory instagram posts.<br/><br/>The optional toppings are a bit expensive for my liking so I tend to get my soft serve straight.

Sea salt + Salted caramel.<br/>💰$4.5 for a soft serve in a cone.<br/><br/>The texture is milky and creamy. Thus, it's easy to melt down if you spend too much time on taking a good photo.<br/><br/>The sea salt is their signature flavour and it's available all the time. There is always additional flavour that changes every 1st and 16th of the month. I tried sea salt and salted caramel. The taste is surprisingly better than what I've expected. Sea salt is not too salty and the sweetness is not too strong. The salted caramel flavour is quite strong. I prefer it lighter a little bit. However, the mix of two flavour is a great choice. None of them is overpowering the other. <br/><br/>The black waffle cone has no additional flavour but it looks so aesthetic. You can add more toppings but it's pretty pricey and I think it's not necessary to add more sugar in this.<br/><br/>The place is decorated with pastel colour, which is perfect for instagramable pictures. However, the downside is that they have no air-conditioner and it's not very comfortable in the hot weather. Especially, your ice cream could melt down right away at the moment you received from the staff.<br/><br/>✏️Overall, although the price is quite expensive for a single soft serve like this, it's worth to give it a try, especially their sea salt flavour. I'm still waiting for a unique flavour to try it again.
Sunny Days Melbourne
Ok, it's no longer a secret......I love Aqua S!!!! I love their unique flavours that are changed every 2 weeks, I love the ever present salt flavoured ice cream and I love the simple menu. This time around, I had the pandan and milo together.....a match made in food heaven! The pandan was almost fluorescent. My other fave flavours from the past include rose, Thai milk tea and taro! The world can never get enough of taro! If only there was an Aqua S club....
Hello. Imnikki
Aqua S is a treat visually and gastronomically. The walls are the perfect background for your IG shot, and the soft serves are a lovely pop of colours.<br/><br/>The sea salt soft serve is the mainstay flavour, and two supporting flavours are rotated fortnightly. On my visit, I had a choice of Milo and pandan, and I went with pandan, which was a wrong move on my part. Pandan by itself tastes quite subtle, so naturally when paired with the sea salt, the sea salt was all I could taste. I did however enjoyed the sea salt flavour; it was a pleasant mix of sweet and salty. Maybe Milo would have been a better pairing.<br/><br/>The texture of the soft serve was smooth, but I would have preferred it to be creamier.<br/><br/>One more thing to note, the toppings are priced quite extravagantly, and while the popping candy and popcorn that I chose did contribute positively to the texture and aesthetic, I personally don't think they are worth the price paid.
Melbourne Digest
Visually quite a treat. Aqua S serves up dreamy, pastel soft serve in premium black waffle cones (or its branded clear plastic cups). Go for the creamier, milk-based soft serves- sea salt on its own or paired with one of the flavours of the week. Toppings, like in bubble tea, unless it is herbal jelly or custard, are superfluous.

Such a cute store & interior is good for taking pics 😂. Love how they change their flavours through out the month. When I went, there was Thai milk x sea salt. Or peanut butter x sea salt. It was amazing wasn’t too sweet it was just right! would go here now and then if I’m craving ice cream. Could never get enough of it!

Whether you’re looking for the perfect place to have an Instagram photo shoot, or simply a unique dessert to soothe your sugar cravings, Aqua S is the perfect spot to treat yourself. Its ice-creams come in fun, unique flavours that change every 1st and 16th of the month, and are combined with its signature sea salt ice-cream. On this particular visit, we ordered the Thai milk tea and watermelon pear, both mixed with sea-salt. The ice-creams are very smooth in texture, and can be paired with a variety of toppings.<br/><br/>Loved the aesthetics of this place, and am looking forward to trying out more flavours!<br/><br/>

It is a must to go to Aqua S in QV!<br/>It is not your everyday icecream, the workers are lovely and friendly, the service was fast but I wish there was bigger seating arrangements.<br/>The icecreams are fresh and the flavours are tangy, I enjoyed the sea salt flavour!<br/>I will be coming back for their icecream for an occasion!

Being new to Melbourne and following foodies on instagram, I was excited when I saw Aqua S as there was taro milk tea soft serve featured when I arrived!<br/><br/>Sadly I was disappointed because I felt that there wasn't much taro taste to it. The sea salt was weird to me because it felt like someone just accidentally replaced all the sugar with salt. It was a too much for me.<br/><br/>Taro flavour (not milk tea) was featured in May so I decided to give this one another go and I enjoyed it! the ice cream base itself is definitely creamy and smooth, and this time I was able to get a stronger taro. A bit on the pricier side of things as well so I didn't get any additional toppings as I felt those were really just for ig purposes.<br/><br/>Also had a taste of the Citrus grapefruit. I really liked it. Still sweet but had a tang to it which complimented the creamy milky flavour of the soft serve.<br/><br/>Will like to see what other unique flavours they come up with in the future.

Super creamy soft serve ice cream with little hints of citrus and a huge toasted marshmallow and a chocolate pocky stick. Just typing this, is making me crave it all over again!!!
Eating Away Melbourne
Love this soft serve place. They have the best soft serve ice cream and they change their flavours regularly to keep things interesting! Absolutely loved the sea salt flavour! No wonder they keep that on the menu. You can have two flavours twisted in one cone as well! and all different sides to add on!

So the closest thing in NZ we have to this is mcd soft serve. So naturally I was pretty impressed.<br/>Been trying gelato here in Melb n back home, feeling sickened and overwhelmed by it i was quite keen to try some flavoured softserve after seeing this.<br/>The flavours change every fortnight, which is a bit annoying for me as its just luck weither the week I visit Melb has some flavours that take my fancy.<br/>Luckily on this occasion they had rose lychee and honey milk. Love it, the taste is not to overwhelming with flavour or sweetness, also creamy and refreshing.. Especially on a hot day.<br/>For one who doesn't have a strong sweet tooth it was too my taste.<br/>There's not much place to sit inside but I prefer to sit in that outdoor area in QV anyway.<br/>The price was reasonable for melb standards probbaly because I'm not interested in adding toppings.<br/>Anyways I always find my myself craving it ❤️
Melissa
Very unique flavour combinations. <br/>Toppings are quite expensive so I usually just stick with a naked soft serve with 2 flavours.<br/>First time I came I had the rose flavour, which was pretty nice and went well with the sea salt.<br/>Second time I came I had the lime cheesecake flavour, wanting to try something new. That was kind of weird and artificial tasting, wouldn't recommend it, unless you really like lime. I personally wouldn't choose lime again as an ice cream flavour though.
Foodie In Paradise
Heard so much raving about this place so decided to try it out while within the QV centre. I decided to go for the sea salt and lychee flavor combination. The ice cream itself was very light. The sea salt flavor was quite unique and overpowering the lychee flavor. Would prefer the lychee soft serve too be a bit stronger in flavor especially when combining it with the sea salt flavor.
Khorry Sila
The decorations was soo cute caused we can choose any toppings for our ice cream. The taste was okay too. The place has a cute design too for instagramable pictures.
Split The Bill
I do have a soft spot for soft serve ice cream. What I particularly like is that they change their flavours every fortnight. The mainstay is the sea salt or vanilla soft serve, which tends to balance out the other flavour they have in rotation. The toppings are a bit pricey so I limit myself to one, or sometimes none! Melbourne CBD is lacking in ice cream shops, so Aqua S is a welcome addition to the CBD.
Christy
Tried the honey lavender and sea salt flavour which was pretty unique. Really nice combination of sweet and salty although the extras are probably more just for show if anything. The height of the swirls may be a little inconsistent and seeing as mine was quite high it melted before I finished it. Next time I’ll probably have it in a cup.
Saza_Lives_To_Eat
Awesome soft serve! Loved it. So much fun picking the toppings. Only downside is they change the flavour and if you have cravings you have to wait until they have that one again.
Pyro
Tried their ice cream as alot of people have been raving about this place, tried their signature sea salt. Very weird experience, had the first bite, thought its alright, had the second bite, still nice, third bite on and on to the last bite and pretty much got hooked, very unique flavour but very delicious, it's an experience where the more of it you eat the better it gets. Will have to return to try their sea salt and pear and heads up, Eftpos minimum is $8. Overall great place
The Hand That Bites
I honestly can't get enough of the place. I have sea salt with everything and I love the sea salt and tarot milk tea combination. I think it's one of the best soft served around, but the reviews are very mixed. The service could be more friendly, if I didn't know it from Sydney, then I probably wouldn't go. The staff just need more enthusiasm, it's a great product. The photo is mint and sea salt.
