a backpacker bar so as you would expect it is very cheap especially the beer. Good for a uni student. I often come here for free pizza on Thursday nights
Blue Moon Bar is definitely a bar in all senses. It was a Saturday night and in the low light the venue was packed with intoxicated people, people playing pool/darts, loud music and not a place you’d expect to get a decent meal. Ordering was hard too, as we had to yell over everyone at the busy bartender behind the counter. Not the easiest task. Rump steak ($12) This was the reason for me to come here. The $12 special rump steak. For that price I was not expecting much. Mine was cooked medium rare as per usual and it looked pretty good too. Taste-wise? Not bad. I would say the result was more rare than medium rare so it was ridiculously chewy. The very few potatoes and wine sauce were a nice touch. Always a party. I guess cause it's below a backpackers but this place is really cheap and always seems to have some sort of party going on
Cheap drinks good food. You can get sooo much more with alot less $$$ here. The food is pretty darn good and the drink prices are outrageously cheap. This isn't a family place or somewhere to go out on a date but they have had some awesome parties nearly every night we have stayed at the hotel upstairs. It would be even better if they got a coffee machine tho as we found it hard to get a coffee anywhere nearby.
Really cheap drinks!. Must be one of the cheapest places to drink in Melbourne! Most nights the drinks are under $5! It has free pool, darts and pizza on a Thursday!! It's based in the ground floor of space hotel so does have a mainly backpacker crowd so a great place to meet people if you are travelling!
Cheap and Cheerful!. I went here for lunch with the girls and we all enjoyed our meals. Great atmosphere, comfortable surroundings and friendly staff. Good cider on draft and the dishes are VERY reasonably priced. Love the decor! Keep up the great work folks! We will definately be coming back!

Cant Go Wrong!. Cheap Drinks, Cheap Quality Dishes and Friendly Staff! Have been here many times and had a great night without burning a hole in my pocket. I recommend Blue Moon Bar! And so close to RMIT
Awesome venue. Honestly I was a little dubious when I saw such a high rating on Urbanspoon but decided to give it a go regardless; if nothing else, it was going to be a cheap meal.
By the end of the night we were really impressed at both the venue itself and the staff who went very much out of their way to accommodate our requests, far beyond what we were expecting.
Fantastic atmosphere, the meal itself was great and like I said, it's very reasonably priced.
This certainly will become a regular venue for both me and my friends.

What a fantastic Friday night. Enough food on one plate to feed an army. Food is good not great. But the karaoke night was awesome. I had the crowd rocking to both of my songs and I felt like a rockstar. Please go on a Friday and enjoy the karaoke.
Good place for karaoke nights.. go alone, go with your friends or family, you can enjoy either way. Their black bun steak burgers are one of a kind and totally value for money
Great place for Karaoke lovers. Vast selection of songs you can choose to sing. They also have good deals for birthday and student nights. Worth going there.

Friendly atmosphere which really starts gaining momentum at 9pm beyond. You have to buy a drink to get to sing! (There's only so much soft drink one non-drinker can drink, so I didn't get to sing much). The regulars provide a supportive atmosphere. Great for a Karaoke work function.

I went there on 16th March and had a great night with my friends! The song selection is great! However, as someone that had sang at different karaoke bars in Melbourne , I felt that the microphone wasn’t loud enough , especially when the crowd was singing along! (Note: The microphone’s volume seems perfect for those with really powerful vocals, but not everyone shares the same vocal quality or singing style) If this could be improved, I would give this place 5 stars
