Bought a mixed sushi pack today from Sushi Hub as was starving and it had been ages since I had eaten sushi (largely due to WFH for the past 3 months). The tray was actually so generous. Was able to share. I loved the Tuna which had a good
Texture and flavour. Several had lettuce within them which I’m not such a fan of but overall a nice mix
And served with plenty of wasabi, ginger and soy sauce.
PROS
often busy but never waiting longer than it takes to decide what you're getting. Fresh, delicious and broad variety of small dishes with my favourite being there selection of inaris and nigiris. Sushi train at the back. Professional and efficient service, clean and fresh. Everything I want
CONS
There should be an option of getting food on a plastic washable plate if eating in. So much plastic when I'm eating at the venue anyway. They have the plates from the sushi train area anyway.
FYI
There is a seating area and sauces etc available if you'd prefer eating in as I do. Try the seeweed inari or the ell nigiri next time you go. Lots of locations but I find the variety here better and the seating area is convenient. They even have hand sanitizer for after you've eaten.
After visiting museums I came to the 'Sushi Hub' on Elizabeth Street, one of six places of that Australian chain in Melbourne CBD. The place was rather small, but it had a good selection of Maki Rolls, Sashimi, Inari, Nigiri. Many people seem to come here for take away, but one can also sit down. There is Wasabi Sauce, Soja and Ginger à discretion in self service, mostly in small sachets.
Apparently this chain was started in the Asian neighbourhood of Cabramatta outside Sydney and now has over 80 stores all over Australia.
J’s score 3.75 stars. J got takeaway for lunch here on Sun 26th Jan. Service friendly and prompt. DIY soy and ginger. She had:
Sushi sandwich ($2.50) – Tamago, salmon, avo and lotso mayo. Nice but fell apart.
Unagi and tamago sushi maki roll ($3) - Really big, moist and tasty.
Vegie tempura nigiri sushi ($1.80) - Crisp, tasty, nice large piece of tempura.
This is a regular lunch spot for me. It's always crowded, and for good reason. They have an excellent variety of different sashimi and sushi that you can order as takeaway as well as a sushi train for those who want to eat in. I regularly buy the salmon sashimi, and it's always fresh. It would be great if they had a salmon/tuna sashimi option. The prices are very reasonable and even though it's crowded, the line moves pretty quickly. Will definitely keep coming back.
I'm a huge sushi lover and Sushi Hub doesn't disappoint. It's always a great option whenever I crave for sushi/maki rolls. The scallops were fresh and the maki rolls were flavourful as well!

Best sushi in Australia thus far! The quality is at such a high standard and the prices are so reasonable. I cannot wait to keep going here forever!!!!
Affordable, quick, high quality sushi and other Japanese cuisine. The sushi train is a great opportunity for a catch up with a friend before watching a performance at the Melbourne Arts Centre ☺️
Good place for sushi that is pretty cheap and good quality. A couple of vegetarian options. I enjoyed the tempura veggie inari and the cucumber and avocado sushi. The teriyaki tofu was a little salty.
Sushi Hub is located at the busy Swanston Street. There service is quick even when there crowds of people. Many good choices.
My favourite spot for aburi salmon! Sushi hub makes sushi like no other, may it be dine in or take away they make it so easy. Their sushis are always fresh, i would usually do takeaways on the go and they would pack it so nicely that it makes it easy to eat
Sushi Hub Swanston St offered delicious sushi of wide variety for both takeaways and dining in. The dine in area was nice, albeit quite small and only certain tables had access to the sushi train. Service was very prompt. It was great option for a quick casual dinner.
Nice sushi joint in a convenient location. This place had great deals at the end of the day. Picked up some salmon aburi sushi on the way home.
Good service.
On our visit not such a big range of sushi on the train, but pleasant all the same.
It’s always a quick and convenient location to buy from with fast service and also plenty of seating. But what I love most about Sushi Hub including this location is the freshness of their products. They offer true quality seafood and as you taste the prawn or salmon hand roll the difference to other Sushi chains is beyond comparable. I highly recommend an affordable meal at Sushi Hub!

It's my first time to experience the sushi train. It is really cool and amazing. Lots of choices to choose from and their sushi is really yummy! Worth it and will definitely be back again.
The food was good, the food was on plates on a continuous conveyor, if you was something that you liked you just took the plate off the conveyor. There was also a menu that you could order from as well, a full range of usual soft drinks and some Japanese alcohol - consumed on-site only. Pricing is dependent on what you eat.
Good sushi for a reasonable price. Staff were happy to move a chair around so our party could sit together. There is only 1 toilet but they're quick to clean it
Food was fresh and delicious! We did the sushi train but could order other things for the menu, service was great and ordered food always came out very quickly. Love visiting here for dinner!
