It was such an amazing joint in the cbd
A very cool little restaurant, some very clever decorations that gives you a bit of a Mexican feel, the burrito's are tasty and a generous size.
š±Lizzieās first impression: my go to place for Mexican during lunch times
š©Lizzie enjoyed: they have the yummiest fish tacos - the fresh is tasty and fried perfectly. The espanadas are also really tasty as itās not as heavy as the burrito.
š
Lizzie did not enjoy: the burrito is delicious but can come across as dry sometimes as they put a lot of beans in it.
š„Lizzie rates overall: great feed for a weekday lunch!
Best takeaway Mexican Iāve had! I had a slow cooked beef burrito. The meat was real meat and not just mince, the tortilla was fresh and the fillings were delicious.
Chilangos was an expected delicious find after scoring a free burrito here via eat club.
I had always stuck to Guzman y Gomez or mad max but didnt know about chilangos being a chain
They have got burritos and tacos and a range of interesting drinks including the Mexican horchata.
I had the spiced fish burrito. Large burrito with salsa onion corn black beans sour cream guacamole spicy sauce and delicious fish fingers.
I ate the burrito in two servings due to its massive size and loved every morsel. The rice is well flavoured. The burrito wrap is fresh. And the spicy sauce is not too overpowering.
Definitely a great find
Chilangos was absolutely PUMPIN when The Dear Luncher came across this Tex/Mex eatery on a Friday afternoon. A big line stretching out through most of the store, most tables taken as well. This was the first time visiting Chilangos and for some reason The Dear Luncher always gets nervous when eating at places that prepare the meal in an assembly-line fashion. Henry Fordās methodology works really well for cars, but this may not always apply with food. A slow-cooked beef burrito bowl was requested and The Dear Luncher watched onĀ as the rice man did the rice, then the meat girl did the meat, and then the toppings person did the toppings etc. The amount of beef heaped onto the rice seemed very small, and The Dear Luncher requested more. This was provided at no extra cost, well done Chilangos. Spicy sauce was added as well.
The slow cooked beef was LOVELY. The sauce had the effect of delivering tingles on the tongue and the whole concoction when mashed up together was quite pleasurable. About on a par with the burrito bowls you might get at a Guzman. The only downside was the sheet of paper at the bottom of the cardboard box the burrito ābowlā was served in. As this paper acquired moisture it started to split up with the food and this is not pleasant. In the end the paper was fished out and discarded. Apart from that ā everything was satisfactory folks. Quick feed on my lunch break and I do love me some Mexican food, got myself the Burrito with Barbacoa (slow cooked Beef), got the works in it of Blackbeans, Salad, tomato, onion, Guac, Sour Cream, cheese and extra hot sauce....
Was a fairly decent feed and I love something with a little spice...... my lips are still burning š¶š„
Great food at affordable prices! Chilangos is very close to work and therefore is frequently visited!
I have only had the Burrito (wrap & bowl) along with the corn chips and salsa side.. and they don't disappoint. The Burritos are delicious and filling.. the vegetarian burrito however was not the best... it only had green beans and lacked flavour..
Burrito was very nice and very affordable! However, a bit disappointed in the service. Felt really rushed and the server put sour cream in without asking (which I couldn't eat). Thankfully this was resolved by the lovely smoky chipotle sauce. Would recommend for cheap eat.
This Mexican eatery located in a secret little food court area was excellent. Some of the cheapest prices I've seen for Mexican food. I got the vegetarian burrito and it had actual string beans I was so amazed. Staff were friendly and I think I'll be coming back very soon.
Delicious!
What to eat for lunchā¦we decided to try something new. š¤ Mexican? Perfect.
Quite happy with our choice. Between us we had tacos, burrito, burrito bowl. All quite tasty.
You can find Chilangos down the lane way off Bourke. Decent amount of seating inside and out.
Note: the hot salsa has some zing to it. Quite tasty though.
Delicious burritos at a reasonable price.
Got the beef burrito and it was tasty. Beef burrito is customisable however you want it. Also managed to get a side of corn chips all for under $20.
It was hard to dip the corn chips into the salsa so I had to mix the guacamole into the salsa. I think itās worth avoiding this side dish. The chips were good.

Chilangos Mexican Cantina is a takeaway shop during lunch, but converts into a Mexican tapas bar in the evening, with amazing margaritas and delicious food. Think burritos, burrito bowls, nachos, tacos, enchiladas and Mexican salads.
Mexican music, neon lights, craft beers and margaritas make Chilangos the go-to destination for all things Mexican. Sit on the columpios (swinging seats) that overlook Collins Street or sit at the bar and enjoy tequilas, mezcals or craft beers.
There is also a great selection of wines and non-alcoholic Mexican sodas.
Got a enchilada takeaway and it was massive. It was loaded with fillings and the flavours were quite great. The enchilada delivered quite well without going soggy. Special mention for the guac and salsa, chunky and delish.
Love this place for simple, affordable, tasty Mexican š. Iāve tried everything on the menu but now I pretty much always grab the Burrito Bowl. If Iām feeling lux their Elotes (Corn) is also a really nice addition. Not sure what they put on top of it but itās super tasty.
Delicious Burrito, quick and friendly service. Will repeat the experience next time I'm in the vicinity.
