Such a good KBBQ joint. The food is delicious and service is even better! Sue was our cooker and she was so lovely! So was the owner who gave us a free can of drink. Amazing food, great value and such a good experience. Will definitely be back! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting good, authentic KBBQ!
Came here with my 3 other friends on a Thursday night after work and we absolutely loved it! We opted for the 29.90 AYCE kbbq deal and ate to our hearts content. The service was so friendly and attentive which we all felt and want to applaud. The quality of the meats were also good and there were so many side dishes that came with it such as corn cheese, fried chicken, dumplings and kimchi stew. We will happily come here again!! Thank you :)
have been here a few times now and probably one of the best kbbq restaurants in melbourne especially for the price point. staff are super friendly and accomedating to our large group and provide attentive service. food is great, the $29pp unlimited is definitely worth it.
It was our first time at a Korean BBQ what a great way to end the decade. Thank you workers. See you in 2020.
The waitress is very nice and gentle. Always help us to cut the meat and offer a hand. One of the most perfect service in Melb.
I booked through zomato (bless) and it was an easy experience!!
Ordered:
🐷🐮 Pork and Beef set (2 ppl): 1 serve pork belly, 1 serve scotch fillet, soybean paste soup ($48.00)
🐔 Mild Chicken Thigh Fillet ($15.00)
🥔 Spicy Rice Cake: stir-fried rice cake, veggies, and fish cake in a spicy sauce ($15.00)
+ 🧀 cheese ($3.00)
🌽 Corn cheese: corn baked in a layer of cheese ($10.00)
Review:
I quite liked the food here is. Everything was tasty, and easy to eat. The standout was the corn cheese... I'm almost convinced that you can't do corn cheese wrong! Sweet corn, with the decadent smooth cheese just keeps me going.
Banchan dishes were also generous. They've got a couple of my favourites in there - the soybeans and the fishcakes 🤤.
Service is friendly, and attentive. We were seated quite near the register, so catching their eye wasn't difficult. They also don't charge surcharge for card payments (but they do a 5% discount for cash!!).
The not so greats:
- not well ventilated, so walk out expecting to smell a little like kbbq
- a little bit of a tight squeeze. They have storage in the stools, but you're sitting quite close to another table.
- had to order extra rice because rice wasn't included.
Nonetheless, don't let these deter you from an otherwise easy experience at Soolzip Korean BBQ!
Went here for the first time for my partner’s birthday and ordered the $29 per person unlimited meat refill. Staff was very friendly, accommodating, aware and always smiling! Came over consistently to ask if we wanted more meat when they saw our plates were empty. This was nice as they didn’t make us feel unwelcome to ask for more 👌
In terms of the food, my favourite was the spicy pork belly. It was deliciously marinated! All the other types of meat were nice too. However, if I had to give feedback to make the experience even better, it would’ve been great if some of the other meats were marinated too like the chicken! Either way, it was a great meal and would definitely come back. The owner also gave us complimentary grape soda drinks too for my partners birthday which was unexpected, but definitely a nice gesture 😊
I love their side dishes as well caused it suits me and tastes like a really authentic korean side dish when i went to korea last time 💗💗 eventhough most of the meat is not marinated, but it’s still good.and overall it’s worth your money 💰
Nice quality meat!! So delicious!!
Loved it! Would definately come back again soon!! Had the $29 set with unlimited meat refill. Excellent value. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I do worry about the potential OHS though. One of the waitresses almost tripped on a loose cord from under the table.
Meat selection was of quality unlike others. The dishes that came with the set were also very good. Corn cheese, soup (either kimchi, am spicy soft tofu, soya bean) we tried the soft spicy tofu, KFC drumettes! i would go back for the KFC and soup alone. KFC was crisp not dry and one if the best I’ve had in a while. Soup was spot on for a cold wintery night. I could have a whole pot if it was available!!
WIR? Definitely!
Turn up hungry, and be prepared to roll out of here suffering from food coma. For $39.90pp on a Saturday night, get unlimited meat refill, but you will be constrained by the 1.5 hour time limit and penalised if you waste more than 100g, which is fair enough. We added some prawns and squid to the feast, which already came with sides, soup, corn cheese and the iconic fried chicken.
Speedy service, delicious marinate, good variety of drinks, tables and seats that are practical and not designed for long stays. Everything is exactly as expected. Located in the Korean BBQ precinct, it doesn't stand out but certainly draws a crowd based on its quality and good value.
In 1.5 hour seating you can UNLIMITED meat!
Only $37.90 (MON-THUR) & $39.90 (FRI-SAT). One of the most affordable korean bbq restaurants I've been to that serves good quality food and service.
Included:
🥩 Fresh Meats (pork, chicken, beef)
🍖 Marinated Meats
🍗 Fried Chicken Wings
🌽 Corn Cheese
🍲 Choice of 1 stew (Soy Bean paste, or Kimchi Tofu, or Spicy Soft Tofu)
They are really generous with their meat and side dishes, so you’ll definitely be full afterwards! We also got some soju and makgeolli to enjoy our delicious kbbq session. They also have an Earlybird session so you can get a further discount - only $32 per person first session 5.30-7.00pm (Mon-Thurs)!
I went on Saturday, all you can eat and $39.9 per person if I remember right.
Great staff, good food, the environment was clean and not overcrowded. Great price and will visit again. Highly recommended.
@matzipkbbq is one of Melbourne’s favourite destination for AYCE KBBQ. It's affordable and great value$, for less than $40 pp or early bird price at $32 on weekdays.. this place is a bargain offering various types of fresh quality meat🥩!
They start you off with some stretchy and gooey corn🧀 cheese and fried chicken🍗, followed by a serve of delicious piping hot soup🥘! Choose from Kimchi Tofu, Spicy Soft Tofu or Soy Bean Paste.
Combined with refillable sides at your fingertips, your dining experience will be like no other!🥗
Matzip KBBQ is probably one of the cheapest all you can eat korean bbq venue I’ve been to.
The price tag was $37.90 for mon-thu and $39.90 for fri-sat. They have decent quality and definitely value for money.
The all you can eat includes unlimited refills for sides like kimchi, pickles, etc… and comes with complimentary corn cheese, KFC and soup. Tteokbokki and prawn tempura can be order for extra cost.
Also loved that it plays non stop kpop playlist so you can eat and jam along!
This is my new favourite KBBQ in Melbourne. Probably the most affordable with good quality meat, if you are looking for great affordable KBBQ place, look no further! This is the right place for you and trust me you will not be disappointed 😍
Unlimited pork, beef, chicken, squid, prawn, a choice of soup, fried chicken, corn cheese and refillable side dishes
Their pork belly was so good 🤤 we also love their ssamjang sauce and kimchi too! Service is outstanding
Early bird 5.30PM on Monday-Thursday $32 per person | Friday-Saturday $35 per person for unlimited meat within 1,5 hours
run to this restaurant now! 🤩
Tucked in the corner of Victoria street. It’s super close to Queen Victoria Market.
They have rice but it’s not on their menu, you can just ask. Food was yum, service was quick. Can’t complain.
Prices have gone up a bit, but not surprising as covid has probably effected all the small businesses in Melbourne.
