Not a bad place for a group more than 4 or 5 people, dining environment is good as well.
But I feel that Chinese grilled fish restaurants in Melbourne are generally the same and it usually costs >30 per person to actually be full

$12 for 18 dumplings sounds like a good deal. However they are the smallest dumplings known to man, and the taste a bit weird. Nice friendly staff though.

Fresh and clean food. Seriously. This is probably the best roast/hot pot fish place in Melbourne. The A la carte is great as well.

I loved the decor. I ordered the fried rice which was tasteless. Doesn't the cook try before he serves? Some soy would've been nice. The beef salad with ginger was so intense it made my tongue numb. Way too much flavour that it destroyed the lovely thin cuts of beef. The spicy chicken wings were yum tho. And the 'wet nuts' were amazing. A+ for the wet nuts! Cheers

A friend of mine loved the 'baked fish' here so we decided to give it a try. Ordered the standard BBQ Barramundi served in a huge tray that comes with capsicum, onion, celery, black fungus, dried bean curd, lotus root, bamboo shoots and potato slices. We chose the medium spicy level of the home made chilli sauce to go with it and added quail eggs for toppings. There are many topping options to choose at additional cost. The fish is nice, a bit salty but goes nicely with rice. We ordered the BBQ fish tofu skewers which in their menu looks like about 6 whole fish tofu on a skewer. But when it came out, it was 5 halves of fish tofu. Disappointing. Also ordered the fried eggplant with red bean paste to try. It didn't look like the picture in the menu and it was small. Can't really taste the eggplant.

6 Guizhou style lamb rib without much meat cost $21.80 (ie $3.6 each), it is over price! With that price, can easily get something much better within 2-3min walking. Wouldn't go again.

This place was recommended by a friend. Tried their barramundi hotspot but very disappointed because the fish itself was too salty. Never coming back here again.

Always walk past on Russell st and used to be packed and need to line up. Not so busy now so decided to give it a try. Had the BBQ barimundi in hot pot. The fish is very fresh but the dish had too much bamboo.

It must be the winter that makes me craving for spicy hot dish. Have been here twice for their bbq Barramundi served with dry chilli, potato, celery and bamboo shoot. You have the option to order additional ingredients to go with the same Barramundi dish and you can even choose the level of chilli. It is quite filling and satisfying. The eggplant fritter dessert is recommended to go with the spicy dish but I can't really taste the eggplant. .although I prefer the lamb skewer from crazy wing than the ones from bamboo village , they are still good. Worth trying and comparing.

We have ordered their lunch special combinations. Green beans with minced pork and stir fried pork belly in sechuan sauce. These two meals were combined with 3 skewers of bbq -- choice of chicken or lamb; and can of drink.

Both meals are too salty to our liking. And the minced pork were burnt. The place is very cozy with friendly staff. Service is fast as well.

Overall, my rating is midpoint.

Walked past this place many times and decided this time i would give it a try. There was a $14.95 special where you get a main a drink and 3 skewers. I ordered a pork belly chilli stir fry with 3 chicken skewers and wings. The pork belly was very salty and the skewers were good. The chicken wings were overly dry. The serving was rather small. To be honest i wouldnt come back to this place as the food is sub standard.

Looked affordable at first but the portion is very little- so it is expensive in the end. The rice is not even warm. The food tastes good but serving size is small.

My second time here was the most memorable. Got handed a wait ticket at the door and told 20 minutes for a table. An hour later, we go to check and were told that our number was called but we were nowhere to be seen despite a metre from the door the entire time. The guy who gave us the wait ticket apologised despite hiding behind the counter the entire time avoiding increasingly hangry eye contact. Finally get a table 1.5 hours later (sunk costs at this point), order food and my friend suddenly moves seats because the air con was dripping on her.

Food comes in small portions and is a solid average on the taste scale. Our lamb skewers don't come at all until we ask for the bill (1hr later) and to cancel that outstanding order. The cherry on top of all of this was the 2% credit card surcharge.

As we leave, there was a girl eating grilled fish by herself while crying. Metaphorically, we were all that girl.

Stopped in on the weekend after walking around the city. Good old China Town area is always a saviour when you're a late diner.

Ordered dishes rather than anything BBQ. Staff were polite and we had:
- Skewers: Lamb, chicken and tongue
- Sliced Fried Mantou (Seasoned with herbs (oregano) surprisingly tasty.)
- Stir fried green beans and mince with chilli (This is a pretty standard dish.)
- Green onion pancake.

Skewers sizes, tiny. 3 for $4.50, and each skewer contains meat that would barely cover a third of the skewer and very thin at that, even if the flavour was nice.

Pancake, a little overcooked and oily.

All quite standard, nothing outstanding.
