Delicious food and drinks. Great service and nice atmosphere too. Will definitely come back when I’m at the Arts Centre again!
Good little bar/restaurant next to the arts centre. Perfect spot for a hang out before or after the show, reasonably priced, never too busy, discounts for VCA students.

Tonight we celebrate the revamped Curve Bar now renamed 'The Barre' pronounced as 'The Bar'. Going to be great when you tell the guys to meet you at the bar, and they ask which one :P. You can see why it was called 'The Curve Bar', as it's above the ticket box in the spiral building of the Arts Center. The building is round-ish, the bar is within a curve. We're going to call it the 'old curve bar' to make it easier to meet up at.
Time Out’s exclusive event this Tuesday August 30 at Arts Centre Melbourne’s new bar, The Barre, is sure the be a memorable night!. Lucky attendees will get to experience the new space, while enjoying some of Melbourne’s finest arts, culture, food and drinks. Collingwood brewery Stomping Ground, will be in attendance serving up crisp, cold brews, while cocktails made with Yarra Valley’s finest gin Four Pillars will be a nice alternative.
I'll start with what impressed us the most - the service. Despite a pretty packed Wednesday night, we were promptly served and checked on at a reasonable pace.
Food - we had the herb crusted snapper, witlof and caramelised salad and shoestring fries with sriracha mayo. Overall, food was delicious and we enjoyed everything.
There is room for improvement though. The snapper I felt was borderline dry. The salad needed way more mushrooms relative to the amount of salad leaves that was available. Fries - I don't know, maybe it's just me, but shouldn't fries be crisp? Our bowl tasted like soggy fries, not the best. Good thing the mayo was amazing!
Overall, we were happy so see you next time The Barre.
We always go there before shows and the food is yummy. Can be really crowded so go early. Staff are lovely and know about the dishes to help you choose
We went to the Barre for dinner before a show on Thursday night. After calling to enquire about the menu, to ensure my friend who is recovering from chemo could eat something, one particular staff member, Carlos, went through each item to ensure it would be suitable. Carlos went so far as to call back to let me know that the chefs would make sure there was a special dish available if need be. Needless to say we were very impressed at the service received! The food was delicious and my friend found plenty she could eat. Thank you Carlos! We will definitely be back.
Great new bar at the Art Centre that is a perfect spot to meet up with friends for a drink or a meal. We went before Missy Higgins at Hamer Hall - service was really efficient when we alerted staff to the fact that we only had a short window to eat. 2 of us shared the fries, green & butter beans and pulled pork sliders - all were delicious! Have also been back for Happy Hour on Friday from 3-7pm the $7 Aperol Spritz and $12 Espresso Martini's are both winners!
2nd time in a week due to prince concert and Vika bull. A drinks and snacks/meals before a show at the arts centre. Happy hour great value from 3pm until 7pm ideal ! The other night we had lovely crisp chips and pulled beef tacos.

Amazeballs service. Post CV menu is limited but what they have is delish. Crazy close to artsy events. Thrilled they are open and dining quality and experience has not diminished.
Visited last night before theatre awesome service, just nagnificent, shout out to Emily. You made our night. Spectacular hospitality at its best. Fab food, very tasty, presented beautifully. Cocktail was delightful. Can't wait to go again.
Three of us dined here before the theatre. Meals were all good, we had asparagus tarts, steak and calamari. Service was a little casual but friendly. Good wine list.
