Great range of tasty malaysian dishes. Really enjoy the four kings of beans with sambal sauce, and the yam ring basket. Been here a few times and will always go back for more.
Love the ying yong stir fry noodles which is hardly available here in Melbourne. It’s very delicious and I’m sure I will visit again very soon. The curry noodles soup tastes different to most places too. Can tell it’s homemade and cooked with love especially the fried fish which is generous in portion and very fresh.
It's a family affair at Penang Village. It's run by a cute family with mum and dad serving and cooking while the kids help out in the background.
It was good to see that the place was bustling on a Saturday afternoon. We had the char kuay teow which was tasty and full of the beautiful wok undertones. It was a bit soggy though but the bits of crunchy lard made up for that.
The fish head curry noodle was stellar! There were curry leaves in the broth and the meaty fish head pieces were fried well.
The chicken satay skewers were a mild disappointment though. The peanut sauce was fantastic but the chicken meat was quite bland.
Prices were very reasonable and quantities were abundant. Service was lovely.
Definitely a keeper!
Tried the Penang style hokkien mee, and it was a hit. What I love about this place was they didn’t immediately clear our table when we finished the food. Some restaurants tend to do that as a hint to order more or to ask you to leave. This place was totally cool. Will patronise again.
Food is always good. Favourite is the pan fried pork dumplings. Servings are generous and very good value.
Donovan is always friendly and welcoming.
It has become our regular local dine in and take away.
Best Char Kway Teow and Penang Assam Laksa in Melbourne. Ah Ben and his wife are great hosts and very generous with their food. You will not be disappointed with their local dishes.
Great spacious clean place. High chair available . Yummy Malaysian hawker food , dishes ,they have pork noodles soup ! and a variety of curry laksa.

We are great lovers of Malaysian food so time to try something a little more local.
Staff were lovely as they accommodated the four of us. We were in a little rush to get to the movies but no hassles there - they cook fast.
Food portions are large so you will probably end up taking some food home in a takeaway container.
Mee Goreng was good. Satays great. The roti and sauce was much liked by everyone.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking out the front. Takeaway available.
This restaurant has become our family staple. Reliable, good quality and authentic Malaysian cuisine. Chef and staff very friendly. If unsure what to eat, simply ask their recommendation and I’ve never been let down. Both their noodle/hawker dishes or rice and ordering mains are so good! Best Malaysian place in the east in my opinion
Penang has always been a place I want to visit because of its well known food culture!!!! I've learnt this from a ex-colleague from Penang...Discovered this restaurant driving past so my wife and I tried this place out and found the food quality to be really decent. The chefs are very experienced and cook decent food. The wok chi in the stir fried food is very strong and really tasty!!! Highly recommended!!!!
Fantastic Char Kway Teow, most authentic to Singapore style, fish head curry was great and generous, with rojak and cendol delicious and tasty.
Great Penang style Chinese food with delicious flavors and tastes, food portions are great with fantastic service from chef owner Ah Ben and wife Ann, the yam basket was smooth and well stocked, the pork hog was tender and juicy with full of tasty mushrooms and smooth black moss, the salted egg King prawns to die for, it was so delicious. Definitely the go to place for authentic Penang Chinese food and delicacies.
Tried out another Malaysian place on the east suburbs.
Their Yam Basket with Prawn Cutlets is very good. Loads of flavour and very authentic. Highly recommend this.
Their Chicken Rice and Chee Cheong Fun were average only and not memorable.
I feel this place is good for calling dishes to share.
Picked up some take away because lockdown. The food here is absolutely amazing. Flavours were fantastic and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back again!

Great food and super friendly service! Highly recommend their char kuey teow
Stopped by for a quick lunch and had the fish fillet ginger wine vermicelli soup. Soup was so good! Generous portion of fish too.
Food was fantastic and the owner is so friendly. We love the 'yu sheng' so much.
