The Spanish chicken here is quite nice, $8 for half a Spanish chicken. Some days the chicken can be quite dry but the flavour is always nice.
For local alternatives to KFC this is the place to go. Chicken has an Asian twist to It and every piece of chicken has flavours.
If you get their chicken skewers they have this awesome spicy taste to it which takes these skewers to the next level. Also rate their fried chicken.
My babes and I were baby sitting her cousin, with the help of my babes sister, so instead of eating out for dinner, we decided to get take away charcoal chicken and eat it at her house.
My babes suggested we buy Sunshine Charcoal Chicken from St. Albans and I immediately thought she was kidding. I thought that the only Sunshine Charcoal Chicken shop was in Sunshine Plaza but I was clearly mistaken once we arrived at the shop on Alfreida Street.
We bought a Spanish Whole Chicken and a Medium Chips to share between the four of us.
Once we got our dinner home and emptied the bag of chicken out onto a plate, the sweet aroma of Spanish Chicken filled the air. The scent was just as intoxicating as in the shop and I couldn't wait to start eating!
The Spanish Chicken was marinated beautifully with an unmistakable sweetness in every bite. Unfortunately the chicken was over cooked and the meat became dry, especially in the breast. The chips were perfectly cooked though. Every chip was crunchy and there was no traces of oil at all.
Despite the dryness in the chicken meat, the whole meal was very enjoyable. But at $12.50 for a whole chicken, I still think Chadz Chickenhaus Spanish Chicken for $11 is not only better value, but the best tasting roast chicken in the area! Sunshine Charcoal Chicken isn't a bad second option though and I'd gladly have it again.
