Weirdoughs is a funky little bakery that is 100% vegan and plant based. It’s so impressive what they’ve done to get their doughnuts and croissants tasting this good - we had the croissant with raw cookie dough. Pro tip - they only make limited amounts of the cubed pastry, so get in early to get your hot little hands on one. Also massive props to the staff member who served us, so friendly and knowledgeable.

I have been to this cute vegan cafe twice now. The first time I ordered a cube croissant with cheese inside. The second time I got a croissant to take away. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a vegan treat while in the city.

Cool little vegan shop run by very helpful staff! interesting menu where you can create your own filled donut or croissant! Tried the nutella PB and salted caramel apple pie donuts which were nice..abit expensive but decent dough and flavors! Very eager to return to create my own donut with PB cookie dough filling!

This is probably the shortest review I’ll ever do and it’s not because I didn’t like the food - purely because I am even crying of happiness of what this place will always represent from now on and how amazing this meant to me. And I also make it short so that people will actually read it (🙃) and take a lesson from this.

I’ve actually never had a ‘birthday’ cake. Surely,I have treated myself to some goodies and some desserts over the last years, but I’ve never had someone else buying some cakes or treats to specifically celebrate my birthday. Yes, it’s true. So while at work, being surprised by my orthopaedic team was just unimaginable 😭❤️ I am seriously so grateful for the kindness of people lately and for how people have been acknowledging my work and ethos of always aiming to make other people happy and making those little things count.

And of course that knowing that I’m dairy intolerant and eat mostly plant based they ordered a few cakes from Weirdoughs to celebrate my birthday 🎂 all their food is vegan and here’s what we tried:

- FRIED CHICKEN CROISSANT - from the deli, a ginormous croissant with such an incredible dough, came cut in half and inside it had some vegan fried chicken, on a great portion and serving, some rainbow salad mixed in some sauce that tasted like mayo and some pickles that surprisingly made it taste even better (and with that slight salty taste the flavour was enhanced a million times and WOW 👏 I’m starting to add pickes and olives to my own meals as it sure makes a huge difference!). This tasted really good not even heated or pressed but I think that pressed could be a major win too 👌 I would see this as a perfect brunch meal paired with some sides!

- CHOCOLATE CROISSANT - to be honest I had already tried these before at a launch event and it was possibly why I never visited the store as I felt that the croissant wasn’t that special and even lacked in chocolate and overall taste. And truth be told this time was the same. I can tell the croissant is definitely of good quality and flawless but it is quite dry and inside there is minimal chocolate. The size is admirable, yes, but I wouldn’t recommend having this as the price is quite significant for a pastry that lacks in chocolate and that gooey, soft and mouth drooling consistency. If I were to rate this place solely on that croissant it would certainly be a 2 star and I would undoubtedly recommend to anyone to get any of the other cakes instead, because those, yes, were good indeed! Just as a final note and constructive feedback for this specific pastry, I think that microwaving it might make it slightly more pleasant, and should be the norm while delivering it to costumers (obviously here it came with uber eats and it would not make sense, but I’m just giving an objective impression that I would personally would have enjoyed more if eating at the venue) as well as make the chocolate filling more substantial and not as hard ☺️

- GF MATCHA GREEN TEA WAFFLE - if there is one thing that was AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING was this one. And it wasn’t just me that agreed on this - for the whole team, we loved this one the most and it was gooooooood. The matcha green tea waffles are of good consistency and very enjoyable flavour but certainly they know that just that wouldn’t be enough and they added a topping of maple syrup, ideally thought of and incredibly delicious combined with the waffles, as well as something similar to a cookie dough. I actually do not know what it was and while it doesn’t have such an ‘instagramable’ look, I have to say that THAT WAS THE BEST THING WE HAD. Soft in consistency and sweet in taste it resembled an almond paste, red bean paste or something like marzipan but more gooey and pairing it with the waffles was INSANE 👏 do yourself a favour and get these if you visit as it’ll probably be one of the best things you’ll ever try!

- WEIRDOUGHNUTS - there were two donuts to complete the feast and both of them were of good portion and again of great quality and ingredients.
1. The first one was a Nutella one that looked quite simple on the outside with a slight drool/drip, coming from the upper part of the donut, and with a single hazelnut. It looked like chocolate of a semi dark colour and the surprise came when we cut them in pieces - a semi explosion of chocolate came from the inside, so semi thick consistency and the most mouth drooling smell of nutella! And once we tried it we certainly confirmed that it tasted EXACTLY like nutella 👏👌🥳 I assume that it was a hazelnut cacao spread and if I didn’t know these were completely vegan I would say it was the real nutella (with dairy). Wow 👏 great job done here! I would definitely not recommend if you’re not a massive chocolate fan 😂 but I mean who doesn’t like chocolate? It does have the right amounting chocolate spread inside (more would definitely be too much) and even if you like chocolate but not toooooo much, this is just perfect 👌
2. The second one was so cuuuute! It came again looking impressive and of good portion and with some powdered sugar outside. On top there always a little round red section that obviously looked like jam and it was indeed jam 😂 and on top of that there were some sprinkles! Yaaaaas 🥳 birthday donut! 🎊 Not being surprised this time once we opened it, there was, as expected, jam inside that was surprisingly good again! We thought that it was lacking in jam in the case actually and having more of the strawberry jam inside would have been massively appreciated! Nonetheless this was my favourite donut between the top as I found it more balanced in terms of sweetness regarding the toppings/ingredients used ☺️

I think I kept it quite short (if you don’t think so just read my other reviews) and I hope this benefits someone and gives an idea for some people when they want to surprise someone (even not on their birthday!) 🤗 it sure made my almost cry of happiness and be very grateful to be able to receive my first ever birthday treat bought by my wonderful future orthopaedic surgeons ❤️

The service I cannot rate as it was a delivery from UberEats (I think it came on time, so that’s appreciated 😂), the chocolate croissant would be 2/5 and the doughnuts a 3/5. The fried chicken croissant a 4/5 and that matcha green tea waffle dough surpasses everything and is definitely a 5/5 for the waffles. As an overall, I would rate it as a 4 star, considering the food and the experience it meant to me 😊

Weirdoughs is a plant based patisserie serving up some unique croissants, rolls and coffee.

The signature is a cube shape croissant. It's much denser than the normal croissant but it's still flakey. The Apple pie croissant was very good. It was light, flakey and tasted like an apple pie. Being plant based however the rich buttery flavour is missing.

The Apple pie latte was not very nice. It had a strange sourness and spice to it. A big dusting of cinnamon on top made the first sip dry, gritty and unpleasant. Also being a latte it should be more mylky, that would of helped with the overall flavour as well.

Overall the pastries are good but the weird latte was not enjoyable.

Heading in on national doughnut day I decided to get their pistachio doughnut. This came with the extra of cookie dough stuffed. The cookie dough was so rich and waz oozing out leaving my hands all covered in deliciousness. Staff are extremely friendly.

Ever wondered what a vegan croissant tastes like? (And why someone would even want to go down this route?!) Me too. Curiosity won out and setting all judgement aside, I decided to check out Weirdoughs and their vegan pastry offerings, which included their famous cube croissant. As we proceeded to cut the cube in half, the resistance against the knife and the crunch were all good signs of a crunchy croissant. Tasting it confirmed this crunch and produced some flaky mess, so in this regard, they’ve managed to do pretty well with the exterior.

Matcha affogato $7, your choice of mylk item and your voice of ice cream. Almond milk and pistachio coconut ice cream was an excellent combo.

A small select of baked goods. Doughnut was ok, about 50% jam that oozed out quickly and everywhere when bitten into.

This is a vegan cafe. A lot of the negative reviews are probably from people who immediately dock 2 stars for that, so the average rating is not a reflection of the high quality of this place.

After an average lunch across the road came here for a fix up with a treat a Almond Latte which was amazing, I opted for the salted caramel doughnut which also didn’t disappoint, sooo many treats to choose from and cute comfortable space in the heart of it all, will definitely be back to taste and sample more. Staff are super friendly and informative. All plant based and amazing!

Been waiting for this kind of cafe and finally discovered a whole plant-based croissant and donut cafe. Pleasant looking, good taste, and well-decorated place. Offer many alternatives of plant milk. They only take card, no cash, so be prepared.

Wow, just wow. I am so impressed by the colourful decor and artistic space. I was met by the handsome and kind Juan, who explained the ethical product line so well. Everything in store is vegan and their milks for the coffee are dairy free and they offer th entire spectrum of alternative milks. I am also taken aback by the creativity of ice creams and pastries. They are presented really well and a delight to consume. I had the vegan ham and cheese croissant myself and was blown away by the smokey flavour hit as a non vegan. I had a joy conversing with Bella who was very well presented and engaging with customers. I will definitely be back to try the assortment of products here, it is more than an ethical colourful cafe. It is a work of art that is doing a service and bringing light to the world.

How creative can a bakery be? A gingerbread donut with ginger custard filling with fresh ginger flavors. And a decadent chocolate filling in delicious pastry. Not your place if you want a predictable and traditional slice of something. It's your go to if you want creative and delicious baked goods. That happens to be plant based.

It is a very interesting little cafe. Staff are very friendly and energetic. Their food are yum and often sold out quickly. Due to this is newly opened, they don't have full menu yet. They made their own chai, it is yummy. Their coffee is very good too. Price is on the high end, but worth it with the quality. The café have very limited tables. They only accept card payment. This café is very close to train station. Parking wasn't easy to find nearby. I can't wait to go back and try their full menu soon.
