The venue and the food items are a little basic - and there's nothing wrong with that. Straight forward home-style cooking.
The burger is a decent sized patty on a toasted sesame seeded bun with cheese, lettuce and tomato you don't need to go hunting for that comes with a good serve of crunchy seasoned shoe-string chips for $13.50. It knocks the socks off the tiny offering on a cold bun from Betty's Burgers.
Real score 3.5 out of 5.
Large, fairly basically fitted out cafe located just across the road from the old Melbourne jail and just up from old police headquarters. Time has certainly moved on big time in this area. Now, much of the area is about international students going to RMIT and other nearby institutions.
There’s good amounts of indoor and outdoor seating at this cafe. I found myself sort of quite liking it. It’s mid range sure but good nonetheless. The coffee was quite pleasant. They had a nice playlist on too and the service was pleasant. The one meal I did see come out looked a bit basic though.
It’s a classic 3.5 for me. And, if marking up or down, justice demands the former not the latter.
The place was great as of today bcz it was cloudy and breezy. The staff welcomed well and had Big breakfast as recommended by them it was good but it was bit Pricy I feel. Latte tasted good too. Service was quick and staff were friendly too.
