Awesome food and good shisha too. Was really surprised at the large portion sizes and highly professional staff. We love this place and will be coming back for the full dining experience again. I recommend the bottomless kiwi tea

The food is DELICIOUS! Probably one of the best Mediterranean/Arabic food I have had in Melbourne so far. The customer service was great too. However, the prices are a bit steep, especially for the small quantity served.

I recommend going there it was such a beautiful evening the staff treated us with respect Michael is one of the staff there he was absolutely amazing. The food was very delicious and shisha came in very quick. Best experience I’ve gotten in a very long time

Food was Arabic and delicious. For meat lovers it’s a place to be. It’s Halal and a good place to have iftar buffet. Beautiful ambiance but expensive.

Horrible! We went there with my friends for iftar. They told us we have to take a set menu but they didn’t inform us about this when we call them or on their website. When we want to talk about it, their waiter and manager were so rude. Foods! Butter chicken has too much oil! Biryani has too much spicy. In the end of it we were hungry, angry we couldn’t eat any of them we paid then we went to another restaurant.

1 star for the reception staff
2 stars for the buffet arrangement
5 stars for the serving staff
5 stars for ambiance
5 stars for the food
Heard a lot about the place so we went for iftar buffet and were greeted by a rude toned reception lady. We had a confirmed booking, yet had to wait in line while people were being allowed to push through the line. When we informed her we have a booking, we were first asked to wait and then told our booking isn’t confirmed - which was not true, we had proof. She was clearly not happy about something, took over 10 minutes between getting there and finding a table.
The buffet set up is really inefficient. Over 20 min wait in line to get food. With a 1.5 hour limit on the visit you can’t get in line a second time. Get all you want the first time around.
The food overall was excellent, quite a few dishes in the buffet. Fresh, warm, quickly replenished. Dessert bar was excellent as well. The servers were really good with drinks etc.
Overall an average experience. Food is recommended though.

Great place to hangout with friends. Awesome flavours. Even though restaurant is open late there are no food options after 10pm

Made a booking, got an email for a confirmation about a reservation that said they will call me about the booking. Did not receive a phone call for 6 days (reserved a booking on Monday for a Saturday dinner), was not notified if we got the booking or was cancelled. We went on the Saturday assuming it was all ok, arrived waiting and was told my booking was not shown due to their "online booking system not working for a couple of days". As they told us that their booking system was not working they told us that their seating arrangements are from 7:00-9:15pm and 9:15pm-11:00pm and that we would have to wait for an hour and a half for a table, however they proceeded to take us to a table. Mind you we went for an 18th birthday. I showed them the email I received from their reservation booking online and yet it didn't go through from their side, that did not make sense. I said that they are supposed to give us a call about the reservation regardless if it was confirmed or cancelled due to the number from the COVID-19, just common sense and common curtesy. We eventually got seated and ended up next to the kitchen and the toilets, yuck. We gave them our cake and the staff did not know where their fridge was, what? The staff have no idea what they are doing. Plus it seems they cannot count as they only gave us 3 food menus for 5 people. We wanted to have shisha with our food and was told that there is a specific dining area where food and shisha can be provided but it was full with the maximum amount of people to the COVID-19 restrictions, which I understand but it was one small area for food and shisha together? When we asked to be moved to a completely different table, the "manager" said there is another table out the back and that she managed to get us a table despite no booking and not arriving for the specified times she mentioned earlier and one of us mentioned and it was assumed she did a favour by providing this table, despite the booking system failing on their side. I went back and back forth between us and the manager. I mentioned again that they did not give us a call within the six days of bookings which is plenty to call a customer and let them know that the booking is possible or not. She gave us attitude and refused to back down and was continuing to be stubborn and making it seem it was our fault for their stuff up. It is known in hospitality that the customer is always right no matter whether the customer is wrong or right. She did not apologise. We just left it at that and proceeded to order but last minute we wanted to leave due to a lost appetite from being in the place and the menu did not have many options anyway. We asked for the cake at the kitchen and it looked like the manager was there in front of the kitchen and asked is everything is ok and we proceeded to tell him what was going on and he apologised about the whole situation and defused the situation and was very understanding not like the other "manager" who was extremely rude and would not back down. From the start, when we entered it felt like we did not belong in there and felt very out of place, and especially with the way we were treated for a mistake that was not our fault. Let's just say I will never again go there and tell others of our experience from the poor treatment. Plus they have no idea what they are doing during this pandemic and how to treat customers.

Worst Shisha in Melbourne, I can’t believe I just threw 85$ for grapefruit head Shisha in the bin, because the place was rubbish full of dodgy people. I regret the even the time I googled your restaurant name. We came all the way from the south east to meet the Shishabae and he is not even working there anymore. So please people DON’T BE FOOLED by the photos they use and post because they were all made by Shishabae before.

I go to Mint & Co regularly now and love it. The food is always excellent the service by waiting staff and managers is always amazing. Definitely rate this the best shisha restaurant in Melb.

Ive come here on a few occassions, Im usually met with a good bunch of stuff and service. However, this time around my wife and I had to wait half an hour on drinks and food. And i was displeased having been met with a very sarcastic demeanour from one of the newer workers, the tall brunette,
Dont think ill be coming back again

The staff was very friendly and helpful as they helped with our seating arrangements that we changed a few times. Lovely ambiance, very cozy and a Mediterranean feel and essence is prominent. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend the Muscat fried okra, its really unique and the traditional Mughlai biriyani, that is very light yet full of flavors. Also pocket friendly

Came for my friends birthday. Was sold on the room with seating on the floor, however was not told of the $30 per head fee for simply sitting down. The food was average and overpriced, with very rude staff. Waited an hour for the cake to be served, by then everyone wanted to leave. Only good thing was the ambience of the place

If you are looking for a cafe that offers great value for money and a really filling and tasty meal then Mint & Co is the place for you!

The cafe has a great open space which also offers shisha, there is a private back room too which was really cool.

My friend and I shared the the board which was humongous! There was enough food to feed 2 people, it was so filling! We choose to have scrambled eggs which was cooked perfectly along with a mountain of halloumi, Lebanese bread, mushrooms, dips, olives, picked vegetables, tomato, sucuk and bacon. We also shared the sucuk toast which was also very filling! The portobello mushrooms, 2 poached eggs, sucuk and everything else in there was just so delicious. We had some mocktails and juices too which were very tasty and refreshing.

A great way to start the day and I recommend a visit here. Thank you to Mint & Co for the invite and warm hospitality.

Amazing middle eastern brekkie.
Meals are so generously portioned and priced extremely well. We tried the signature breakfast board, sucuk toast and waffles.

The signature board is massive and could be shared between 2 ppl in my opinion. Generous slabs of halloumi and sucuk, beef bacon, eggs spinach, shrooms, tomato and dips, this board had a little bit of everything. The sucuk toast was just as generous in size. 2 poached eggs, chunky sliced sucuk and strips of halloumi had me rolling out. Finally the waffles had this beautiful green poached pear, first I've ever seen anything poached that colour. Little miss enjoy smashing the waffles down.

Drinkwise we got a pot of sweet rose tea and passionfruit collins mocktail. The rose tea was amazing and perfect compliment to brekkie. Mrs had the mocktail and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Overall an amazing breakfast and would highly recommend it 👍
We were kindly invited to Mint & Co for brunch. They have recently launched their brunch menu and are now open on weekends for brunch! Being a modern Middle Eastern restaurant, we had to go for their Middle Eastern fusion dishes.
We ordered the Signature breakfast board and the Toasted Sucuk Sandwich. The breakfast board was such a large serve that it could feed 2 people! And for $19.90 it was great value for money. It came with eggs, sucuk, beef rashers, hash browns, grilled halloumi, grilled tomato, grilled mushrooms, hummus, feta cheese, olives, Arabic pickles, dukkah, labneh, fresh cucumber, avocado and toasted Turkish bread. Everything on that board was delicious! I loved how they the tomato and mushrooms had a spicy kick to them. The beef rashers were crunchy and meaty without being overly salty. The sucuk (sausage) was so tasty. The pickles, cucumber and olives gave the dish great balance and sourness that I kept coming back to in between bites of other things. The toasted bread was delicious dipped in the spiced olive oil and in the hummus. This dish took me on a journey and I did not want it to end! Unfortunately the kitchen forgot my eggs on the dish but I really didn’t need any because there were so many great flavours on the plate already.
The sucuk sandwich was also delicious and a huge serve packed generously with sucuk, spinach, poached eggs, grilled mushrooms, haloumi cheese and avocado.
I also had the Turkish coffee which was aromatic, smooth and rich.
Besides brunch, Mint & Co opens for dinner late and you can also enjoy shisha here. The venue is very large, spacious and luxurious.
Thank you Mint & Co for your generosity!

We were invited to Mint and Co yesterday a seriously cool venue like a treasure trove of Aladdin’s secret cave. We were seated for breakfast in the casual shisha space but the dining room has an amazing atmosphere and is fully decked out Arabian nights style. There’s even a really cool private space you can book which will make you feel like your in the Middle East.

The space we were in was great too and had a beautiful fireplace providing some much needed warmth from the rainy day. We had the most generously portioned breakfast, it was absolutely unbeatable value. A $19.95 I had the breakfast board for one which could have easily fed two. It looked unbelievably appealing and tasted just as good. My dining companion had a an equally sizeable dish the sucuk sandwich which she absolutely loved.

It was impossible for us to finish everything given we had also ordered a healthier option in the granola so luckily we got to take it home. I also had a really refreshing watermelon juice as well as a flavoursome chai latte. The staff were utterly delightful you really felt the warm hospitality and the food was sensational, will definitely be returning for dinner

~Middle Eastern Style Brunch~

The interior of the restaurant gave off really relaxed and inviting vibes. We were seated next to the window but right under the heater so were kept very warm ☺️

We ordered the waffles, acai bowl and the Middle Eastern omelette. The waffles were really tasty and so yummy with the iceCream. The acai bowl was slightly different to what I was expecting - there was a lot of apples and other fruits on the top and not as much of an acai flavour but still tasted quite fresh. I enjoyed the omelette with the Turkish bread but I think with a little bit of seasoning would be even better👌🏼 and perhaps a sauce too would be nice.

Presentation and service was 👌🏼👌🏼
Thanks for having me !
Came here for a gathering with some friends. Really great vibes and amazing staff. Always sharp and always nice to the customers. The food we ordered was quite average and also was a slightly small portion but for the shisha and the drinks it's amazing. Perfect for a night out with some friends. Prefer to come here for the drinks and shisha rather than the food. Beautiful atmosphere. If your in the area definitely worth a try!

Arabesque middle eastern cuisine, dining and experience. Owners well acquianted with cuisine. After several visits found dishes to be consistent in side, flavour and serving size. Serving time in under 15 minutes. Mocktails were a treat. Quality shisha preparation and fast and constant service.

food was below average and cold, long waits and poor service.. asked for a glass of water and was told they were out of cups and needed to buy more.. couldnt make this shit up.. never tried the shisha as the service and wait was so bad. disappointed is an understatement. was really looking forward to it a real shame. will not go back.

Amazing! Staff were very attentive. Incredible food also, we had the banquet and couldn’t recommend it enough. Then chilled for dessert and a shisha. Awesome experience and will definitely come back again :)

My boyfriend and I visited this place on a Friday night. A friend of mine recommended this place for it "Middle Eastern atmosphere". We weren't expecting much more than all the Shisha bars already here in Melbourne but what a discovery !

Arrived there around 11PM, we didn't make a booking (honestly we weren't expecting it to be THAT busy !!) so had to queue for 15 minutes which went quickly ! Once inside, service was quick and efficient, absolutely every staff member from the door person to the charcoal guy was so lovely and attentive !

We ordered 2 juices (watermelon was awesome!), a platter of fruits (huge!), a middle eastern dessert recommended by the waitress (was absolutely amazing) and a shisha of course.

Shisha was the best that I have had in Melbourne. Just one point - would rather Starbuzz tobacco than Al Fakher.

Well Done Mint&Co !

Heard about this place from some friends and thought I’d give it a shot, was amazing from the moment I stepped in until I left.

The service was unbelievable, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The food was the best middle eastern food I’ve had in Melbourne by a mile. I recommend ordering the the Okra for entree, 9+ Marble steak with the mushroom sauce for main and finish it off with a Nutella Kunafeh.
I finished with the Shisha and of all the places Melbourne has to offer there is no better place, the overall vibe and decor made me feel like I was in Dubai as I had the best shisha I’ve ever tried.
Overall I highly recommend this place to all as it will leave you with an unforgettable experience.

I’ve been to Mint & Co multiple times and it has never failed to amaze. I will keep coming back for the amazing atmosphere and friendly customer service. The food is amazing, would recommend coming for the mid week banquet- such good value for money. Food portions are so generous and the mocktails are so tasty. Staff are very attentive and welcoming, shisha is always on point, and the venue is so beautiful. I bring all my friends here, Love this place!

I can honestly say this was the best coffee and shisha I've had in Melbourne! My experience from start too finish was amazing, special thanks to the owner Dave who was very welcoming and hospitable.

the first time we had ever come to Mint & Co and it will be the last time. No one would come and serve us unless we got their attention. The only time we were approached, was when we were told that they needed to move us from our table to cater for other people, although we did make a booking.

We ordered dessert, which took almost an hour to come out, which we had to ask where it was. By the time it came out , we were approached a second time , with the waitress saying 'remember when i told you your table had a time limit, you need to go now'. We were never informed with a time limit, prior to coming or upon arrival. This is one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever come across.

I visited Mint and Co with a group of 10 people on Wednesday night, and loved the decor and atmosphere. Staff were great however food was a MAJOR disappointment. Bland and dry, food was almost unpalatable.

A few people that attended ordered steak, which was dry, bland and unseasoned, accompanied with a grainy unseasoned potato mash and
mushroom sauce which was more like a few dried mushrooms soaked in cold water, with a touch of date sauce to sweeten it for some bizarre reason.

Mint and Co charged approx $44 for a Wagyu rump steak, for an extra $5 you can have a high quality steak with a similar marble rating of 6+ at the Meat & Wine Co, a reputable steak house in Southbank.

Although this restaurant is physically appealing, Management really needs to pay attention to their menu and INEDIBLE food especially for the over priced amount they are asking for, when you can go to another well known Restaurant for the same price,I mean you can’t just throw some edible flowers on every dish expecting the flowers to cover the fact that the food is tasteless and dry.

I would not visit again as I was mislead by reviews (Most likely by Owners family & friends) online and had attended this restaurant with family friends from Sydney and was embarrassed infeont of them, that I had brought them to such a place that serves poor quality food, their dishes were left basically un touched.

Mint and Co should stick to what they are good at, and that’s Shisha,
Nay Nay
Such a beautifully styled venue! Its big with heaps of seating inside or out. A lot of staff on duty with attentive customer service. The food here was quite average but it seemed like the shisha was popular

Terrible experience,
This was my second time going to mint and co and we made a reservation for shisha, and got to our seats.
We ordered almost straightaway as we knew what we wanted. We had to wait nearly an hour for 1 shisha and 2 soft drinks to come along with some nuts and everyone who ordered after us got their order before us and I asked 3 people where our order was as it wasnt too hard to bring but they all said I’ll check on it and get back to you but they never did.
When the shisha came after 50 minutes of waiting for it I was surprised and said to the guy that I’m surprised that they finally decided to bring our order and that we were ready to leave. Then some guy came which I assume was the manager as he wasnt wearing a uniform, and apologised to us and said that he would remove the shisha from our bill because of this inconvenience and I was thankful to him.
We were done and wanted to go home so we went to pay at the checkout and the guy told us the amount which was included with the shisha and I told him about what the guy told us and that he would take it off the bill and the guy at the register looked at me like I was lying and he said I won’t do that. He looked around for a couple minutes and said are you gonna pay or not? With an angry look. I was so disappointed as I though that they were genuine people and even though they had bad service they made up to people for it. The guy at the register looked at me with such disgusts and I wanted to talk to the manager but my partner told me it wasnt worth it so we paid and we left.
Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect and I was feeling so disappointed and upset.

Please don’t waste your time coming here for food. Everything we ordered was inedible (the Turkish bread and hummus was the only good thing). Firstly, the fried chicken was completely raw on the inside. The ribs were so oily you could see a film of oil on the top. The steak was so overcooked and dry and the mashed potatoes came out completely frozen. The mushroom sauce that goes with the steak was lumpy and weird looking. And the lamb mandi (spiced rice and slow cooked lamb) was so oily, the onions weren’t just fried but charred and the seeds were stale, the lamb itself was what we think caused food poisoning to 4 people on our table but it honestly could’ve been anything we ordered as everything was terrible. Even the fried cauliflower was drowned in oil.

The decor is overdone but the chairs are a beautiful green velvet which is a nice touch. The drinks were delicious and probably the only thing we enjoyed in addition to the Turkish bread. And we didn’t get to try the desserts as almost everyone on our table was feeling sick by the end of the meal and 4 people had vomited.

When we spoke to the manager about the quality of the food, she simply dismissed it and said she hasn’t had any other people complain that night.

I’ve never had such a terrible experience at a restaurant.

Don’t waste your time.

Sara
4 out 6 ppl at our table threw up straight after eating here. We literally threw up at the venue and tried to tell the manager that we all got sick

Firstly, the chicken was raw and we sent it back. Then our mains came and we literally didn’t get through it before we threw up

The mash was freezing and we sent it back
This entire place is gross

Avoid eating here unless you like throwing up

I am a regular here now and have tried most dishes and drinks on the menu. Mint & Co is the best middle eastern restaurant by far in Melbourne. The food, mocktails, service, shisha and atmosphere are all amazing. The Sheik’s banquet is a must have and includes my favourite dessert Kunefe (Cream, Nutella & Snickers are all delicious!!!) You can’t go wrong. Make sure you are very hungry as the servings are very generous!

What a terrible experience..
The venue itself is quite impressive but everything else was very disappointing. Service was not great - we had to ask for our own menus and most of the wait staff had absolutely no clue about anything. We had a few questions about menu items and were told that they’d find out and come back to us but that never happened. Food was well below average and overpriced for the quality. On the plus side, the portions were generous but when the food is almost inedible, the portion size is irrelevant. The only dish we enjoyed was the halloumi. We had to ask three different staff members for the bill. 20 minutes later the bill still had not arrived so we just made our way to the cash register and paid there instead. I was so excited to try Mint & Co but unfortunately after this experience I won’t be returning.

One word - disappointing.

I booked in for a group of 6 - for both food and shisha days ahead and it was confirmed but when we turned up, we were told that our booking did not exist.

They managed to get us in for a table but after dinner, we were asked to wait before we were to be moved to the Shisha area. We waited, and waited, and waited.

Alas, there was no shisha slot available and we chose to leave after the dinner. What's the point of reservations if you don't choose to honour it?

This isn't the first time - last I went, we waited a long time but they served another group who came after us. When I asked why, I was told they were VIP.

Wow. With such an elitist service and elusive booking service, I'm burnt. Never again.

First time coming to this place, and it was terrible and poor service. Made a reservation three days before, but when we turned up, we were not on list. The food is average, you can find better real middle eastern food somewhere else. Not coming back!

Had the signature burger for dinner and it was very nice. Chips were great and the beef patty was cooked perfectly - medium rare - the sauce that complemented the chips was also delicious. If you are willing to fork out $20 for a burger and chips, this is the place to do it. Would recommend.

Where do I start!!! The photos do say so much. The atmosphere of this place reminded me of Europe, presentation was amazing, staff were just amazing. The food although presented well could do with some more seasoning. Normally I would not comment to the waiting staff but they expressly asked how each meal was and took on my notes with a friendly attitude. The snickers Kunefe though well that was to die for 😋 My coffee was served just as ordered. Highly recommend it!
.
.
.
#dessertreview #foodblogging #kunefe #coffeeislife #nargile #burgers #europeinOz #melbourne #foodporn #instafood #desserts #zomato #zomatoaus #review #melbourneeats #melbournefoodie #foodblogger #instafood #austurkfoodblogger #carltoncafes #yummy #steak #turkishmeze
