Review Jojo Little Kitchen - Melbourne

KK Kor
For me, It’s always delicious and tasty whenever I dine in. Usually I ordered dry fried pork noodles but today I tried Jojo’s soup pork noodles, it’s also excellent. There are things I really like such as soup is warm enough, 4 choices of noodles, you can add eggs on your noodles. Several choices of side dishes. And service is ok.

Service was standard, pretty fast despite a little crowd on Sun noon. Food was average. Crispy pork was okay, dried chili pan mee tasted okay (anchovies and minced pork), too little vegs and in my view, the texture of noodle was too thick ("tear" noodle requires additional one buck). Wonton soup pan mee was also average, soup was less flavorful. I guess this is the closest you can find, quite different style from what I had back in Malaysia.

We came when there was no one there so we had great service. Had the fried noodles and it was really good the more I ate it. Really enjoyed the texture. Didn’t take a picture of the fried one unfortunately.

the food is so nice, but the service is so bad! i ate there for so many times and they treat us impolitely. they said that there si a minimum spend for card and I already said it’s okay if i can’t order below $15 and i go out nicely, but then this cashier person said to me impolitely to come in again and buy the food with card for under $15 only for this time. i mean if there is a minimum spend it’s okay i won’t eat there, but the thing that makes me uncomfortable is the way they speak. i’m so sorry for doing this review, but the impolite gesture not only happen once but couple of times. i hope u can develop the service, thank you!

Had the Lat Jiu Pan Mee for $14.9, tasted basic and totally overpriced. Customer service wasn't great too. Food wise - not much ingredients included, was expecting some crispy anchovies or black fungus slices that are quite typical in Malaysian's pan mee looking at this price, but it only came with meat mince, one egg and some spring onions. The taste was really basic too. Service wise - cashier guy asked a question and when I answered he turned around doing other things...and needed me to repeat my answer again when he is back. This happened twice, not a nice experience.

Their packaging for delivery is so neat. With clinged wrap package and the food tastes awesome. I really love the lat jiu panmee with perfectly cooked noodles, egg, and meat (pork and fish) !! It is way more better if you dine in 😋. The soup base also tastes great. Rich broth and saltiness

The Lat Jiu Pan Mee was an absolute banger. Fresh noodles and the egg was cooked perfect. Didn’t enjoy the dumpling one as much but the Lat Jiu is worth coming back for anyday

I stopped my visit to this cafe being a long term customer and I believe you - the owner needs to go back to school and learn some basic knowledge of service and train your staff out! We were badly disgusted on our visit last Friday and decided not to come back any more! When we were given a dirty table while your staff simply ignored this, we approached to your counter and grabbed a AJAX multi purpose spray clean and a cloth. Your staff person who was a young man yelled at me and said it is not for cleaning tables so I'm not allowed to use it! Well fine, I tried to understand why a multi purpose spray is not allowed to clean the table surface, your staff said to me it is for cleaning windows only! Well thank you for teaching me and updating my knowledge. But instead of yelling at a customer, wouldn't the moral of this situation be firstly thanking a customer for doing YOUR job unpaid, and telling the customer what SPECIAL cleaning detergent at your cafe is allowed for cleaning a bloody dirty table??? The way your staff approached to a customer is absolutely rude, aggressive, and no basic social manner at all!!! I believe the way your staff services your customers was trained by you - the owner as you are the one be a role model!!! I may not wish to mention that on my another visit there was a dead insect in my soup! Can you please tell people how you manage your food hygiene and food safety at all??? I wish your business all the best!!!

I've never heard of this place before so I was somewhat reluctant to go but I am glad I visited after trying their famous Pan Mee :) We ordered Lat Jiu Pan Mee ($13.5), Fried Pork Pan Mee ($12.9), Hot & Spicy Pan Mee ($13.9) - kinda reminded me of jjamppong!, and Herbal Chicken ($15.9). The waitress recommended Lat Jiu Pan Mee which was their best selling noodles dish. It came out with minced pork, poached egg, fried dried chilli, and dried anchovies. I paid an extra dollar to get wide noodles because I wanted to fully enjoy that chewy mouthful taste. Fried chilli mixed beautifully with poached egg york evenly coating the noodles. I especially loved how the creaminess from the egg york offsetted spiciness from chilli. Overall, it was addictingly delicious - I just couldn't stop eating (btw, white rice would've gone well together as well). In terms of taste, it was somewhat familiar in a good way. It actually reminded me of Nagoya style maze soba & Shin ramyun - both savoury and slightly nutty with a spicy kick. Although it tasted pretty damn good, I thought $13.5 was a bit too much - but then again, there aren't lots of venues serving *somewhat* authentic pan mees, so it's justifiable :)

Fast service, really traditional KL flavours of the meat sauce and the sambal with amazing noodles which you can choose the width of. Really hits that pan mee craving spot.
Ee-lyn Law
The chilli pan mee is as good as it gets. Similar to their KL outlets.<br/><br/>Skip the milk tea, was so bland. Fish cakes were really average too.
Affogato Addiction
Would rate 4.5 stars. <br/><br/>Great noodle menu, with lots of different options to chop & change to preference (noodle width, dry/soup, protein topping, sauce).<br/><br/>Noodles tasted excellent, wide or hand torn worth the +$1. <br/><br/>Excellent roast pork.<br/><br/>Water is served in plastic disposable cups. <br/><br/>Quite a small restaurant with 1 table able to sit 8 if you are lucky to get it if you have a big group.

Jojo Little Kitchen has a taste of home and is a quiet, cozy eatery. Their signature dish is chilli pan mee ('lat jiu' pan mee) - a true Malaysian comfort dish - and they do it well above average.<br/><br/>I would highly recommend Jojo Little Kitchen to anyone who's looking for a taste of authentic Malaysian Chinese cuisine.

Love the wonton soup- the wonton is homemade, not frozen, the broth is not too salty. The $8 size fills me up. Will try other things on the menu soon. Great service; polite and helpful.

Authentic Malaysian pan mee. Must try their lat jiu pan mee. Love it

Very happy that I found some great noodles right off the bat in Melbourne! I heard great things about Jojo Little Kitchen, so had to head in for lunch.<br/><br/>I got the Lat Jiu Pan Mee and the Chinchau grass jelly drink. The Pan Mee was delicious! Perfect intersection of spice, salty, savoury, a little bit of sweet, and crunch from the anchovies. Noodles could have been a little less soft, but that's my only complaint. Would definitely be back!<br/><br/>Lat Jiu Pan Mee: 8.5/10<br/>Chinchau: 7/10

I tried this restaurant because my friend recommended me. I ordered the traditional soup and my friend ordered Lat Jiu Paan Mee. I really love the seasoning they used they use some special sauce that makes the dish very delicious. the pork were minced and mixed with the sauce + the crispiness of the anchovies
Tina Koay
Hands down best Lat Jiu Pan Mee in Melbourne! Being Malaysian myself, Jojo pan mee never fails to bring back a sense of home. Would definitely recommend this place to any more
Snow White's Apple
Been here with my Malaysian friend to try if this place is truly authentic. It doesnt disapoint!<br/>I ordered the dry fried pork noodle and my friend ordered the pork ball soup noodle.<br/><br/>The taste was great! Service was ok but most important of all and the reason I was back for a second time was!!!! Their handmade tear noodle <br/>The place itself is not big, a bit on the colder side due to aircon so brace yourself when finding a place to sit. Good for couple, challenging for big crowd.<br/><br/>5 stars for food ( handmade noodle :p)<br/>4 stars for service<br/>3 stars for ambience<br/><br/>Would recommend<br/>

These are 5 star worthy noodles.  I had the lot jiu pan mee (dry) which was amazing.  My friend had the fried pork noodles which were also delightful and we enjoyed a side of chicken wings. The thing that doesn't make sense to me at this restaurant is there is a sign above the water pourer saying 'don't waste cups,' although they only have disposable cups.  They could easily have plastic reusable cups here that get washed. They also used disposable plastic ramekins for all the chilli sauce, when these could either be kept in bottles for self service, or use solid reusable ramekins.I know it's not going to achieve much, but when disposable items like these can easily be avoided I think they should.I will return but I might just bring my own drink bottle

Their service was so bad. Felt one of the waitress is very arrogant. There are too many options for food in the city, why would I go there to suffer? :(

This is my first time to try “pan mee” so I don’t know how authentic pan mee tastes like, but I can just say it’s one of the best dry noodle dishes in Melb!<br/><br/>Me and my boyfriend ordered Dry Curry noodle and Hot&spicy noodle in soup. We both chose thick noodles.<br/><br/>Dry Curry noodle + 1 egg: although it says dry noodle, was a thick and savory soup at the bottom, which avoids all the ingredients and noodles to get dry. Thick noodles suck all the soup and you can get the depth of umami each bite. And it is a wise choice to have a half-boiled egg, cause it milds down the thickness of the soup. If I would give a negative comment, I didn’t get any curry flavor in the soup in last few bites but only sweetness.<br/><br/>Hot & Spicy noodle in soup: one word, Flavorfull!! Me and my bf can feel all the Umami essence in the soup! If I can eat spicy food, I would like to go for this one. But if anyone doesn’t eat spicy habitually like me, this dish will be too hot. Not much toppings, only few pork mince. A bit more protein will be better!<br/><br/>Service: was okay, not good not bad.
Sylv
Ordered the dry curry, pork ball soup, prawn dumpling soup and fried pork 🙂 the service was okay, food was quite nice but definitely preferred the classic soup recipes, plenty of different pan Mee dishes to choose from so will definitely come back again to try!

The best place for noodles in CBD. Staff are fabulous!
Flying Forward
Another gem tucked away into a ground floor of a new apartment building.<br/><br/>Worth searching for because this place does very good Malaysian hand pulled noodles.<br/><br/>I love the chewy texture of the wide, flat noodles, it's the equivalent of a papardelle.<br/><br/>The pork mince is rich, and the chilli oil is mild and smokey.<br/><br/>The poach egg coats everything in an extra dimension of richness, the anchovies provide a salty crunch and the spinach a light bitterness. It's such a well balanced dish.<br/><br/>Jojo's pork soup noodles is thin and lightly salty, and the chicken are quite average. <br/><br/>The winner for me is the chilli pan mee.

This is literally my go-to dining place. What should I have for lunch? I can’t be bothered to leave the house. Where should I meet my friends? The answer is always Jojo’s. I feel like I probably come here way too often... Even the staff recognise me and my order... 😅 (which is, for the record, Fried Pork Noodles with a Wide Noodles) Shout-out to JoJo’s for being consistently scrumptious and for never ever disappointing ❤️ See you probably in a couple of days! <br/>

Been here multiple times and it never disappoints!<br/>Would recommend the fried pork noodles. Staff is always friendly, and food comes out fast.
Walter
Really good food, super flavorful. The soup is really fresh and the pork is really soft. Quite affordable. Would recommend those to try the food here🤗

This little eatery is tucked away from the main street but always bustling with people. It's not W surprise as their handmade noodles have great textures and flavours. Love everything on the menu on each of my visit. Its pretty expensive given the small portions and the fact that they charge for extra chilli. It's my once in a blue moon kind of place.
Gee
I was hungry, it was pouring and as i cut through this building, I happened across Jojo and went in. The Malaysian fella suggested the pork belly dry noodles and I went with it. It was delicious! The pork belly was tasty and sprinkled with dried anchovies. Personally, I prefer my servings bigger for $13 but the food was delicious!

Cheap eats, perfect for the winter. I was pleasantly surprised by their Lor Pan Mee. The soup was thick and savoury, also quite a big portion. I ordered a side of braised chicken feet and that was bombtastic, would totally get that again and recommend it to anyone who is a fan of chicken feet. <br/>

Can't go wrong with jojo. I come here to take away at least 3 times a week. Hands down my favourite noodle place in Melbourne. Very homely feel everytime when eat here. Highly recommended for all Malaysians and noodle lovers.

Home made noodle with strong but delicious sauce/soup!!<br/><br/>They have 4 different types of noodle to start with. My fav is the thin noodle. <br/><br/>Then from here you choose your flavour, or is it the other way around? Anyway, my soup fav is no.4 Jojo's - maybe this one is Jojo's fav and therefore they name it under Jojo? <br/><br/>Must order - Fried pork: you can either order this as entree or get the noodle with it (no. 5). Hopefully you get the one with balance amount of meat and fat because we ordered 2 portions and dissapointingly the other one was full of fat!! <br/><br/>Surprisingly good noodle place!! Go check them out<br/>

A nice malaysian noodle eatery.<br/><br/>Mushroom porkball with wide noodles (+$1) soup.<br/>The soup is quite savoury but when paired with the anchovies adds a sweet and salty taste to the soup. The noodles are soft and plump. Mushroom pork balls are sweet and flavorful, tthe mushoom is quite strong in taste.<br/><br/>Lat jiu pan mee - plump noodles and great flavour that the meat is minced. The sambal is quite hot so take precaution before mixing it in.
Fork And Spoon
Love this pan mee place ! Reminds me so much of home except that this place is 100 times cleaner ! The chilli sauce is also nostalgic of my hometown's Pan Mee and it really kicks. The noodles are really good and you can tell it's homemade. Only thing to criticize is that it's hard to find, I didn't realise it was hidden inside the bottom of the building. Even google maps couldn't tell me

I went to visit during their anniversary promotion. There was quite a long line so I had to wait for about 40 minutes. I ordered the fried pork ban mee and was honestly confused what the hype was about. The noodle was sweet and all I can taste was the taste of kecap manis. The fried pork was also sweet so overall it was quite a sweet dish. The staff was abrupt in their response but wasn't too rude. Might not be back anytime soon.
Annabelle
The food was nice, but the staff were rude and no manner. They did the wrong order and ask me in a rude way that if I wanted to change the order I needed to wait for 15 minutes to get my order. I don’t think this was a proper way to deal with the wrong order. I would not go to the restaurant again.

I heard that JoJo was known for their dried pan mee, so I came to give it a shot. While I was told the chili was a must, I got sucked in by their crispy pork, so i opted for that instead!<br/><br/>Crispy pork pan mee 3.5/5 - overall I enjoyed the dish. The noodles were flavorful, well balanced in seasoning as it wasnt overpowered by soy sauce yet had a good depth of umami. I wasnt too keen on the texture of the noodles as I thought it was slightly over done to my liking, but it wasnt soft, I just prefer it more al dente. The crispy pork was great! A little sweeter than your average crispy pork but there was a nice crisp on the outer edges while the inner meat was tender. Combined with the pan mee and the fried fish, I quite enjoyed the dish. Adding chili I think would have elevated it as their chili sauce they provided me did add an extra element of flavour which enhanced the dish.<br/><br/>Would come back to try their other dishes. Service was ok and decent. Fast service too.
Eatwithbonny
Been here a couple times and I think food quality wise is improving from when they just started. Their food takes awhile to come out, if you’re in the rush probably not the best place. The waitress on the day we visited was rude. She looks like she had a bad day but she shouldn’t treated customers in a rude manner. <br/><br/>Will I be back? Hmm.. probably? 🤷🏻‍♀️
Caroline
Food is delicious here but the service time is too slow. Also, one of the staffs had a really bad attitude. She is not friendly and actually pretty rude.
Gabriella Elizabeth
Jojo is my favourite place to eat. However, today’s experience left me disappointed.<br/><br/>One of the staff took the wrong order which cause me to pay extra. I immediately asked for them to change the order to my actual order. She then started talking to me in a rude manner, almost yelling at me. This scene even draw attention to other customers in the restaurant.<br/><br/>I hope this experience will be reviewed to avoid similar incident in the future.

A nice place with simple meals to match . <br/>Classic dish done to perfection . Minimalist decor.<br/><br/>Price are reasonable and taste consistency is great. <br/><br/>Nice place for a hot meal during a rainy day.

Jojo's dry fried pork pan mee is absolutely delicious, with crunchy anchovies and fried park upon thick bouncy noodles it strikes a balance of sweet salty and spicy that hits the spot.
Yummy In My Tummy
Had the fried pork pan mee that came with dried anchovies and spinach. Came with some nice chilli sauce to go with the pan mee. The noodles were al dente, so delicious!! No regrets. Will be back for more in the future 😊

Had wonton soup pan mee and it was tasty. Service people were polite but it gets crowded and slower than most other restaurants, but not terribly so. Would come back again :)

The food was great but there was this one waitress with brown hair working sunday around 7pm which kicked us out WITHOUT even asking if we’ve finished our food. She said there’s a lot of people waiting outside but there was only ONE PEOPLE WAITING!!! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS REALLY BAD!! hope the management can take care of this waitress.

WOULD GIVE 0 STAR IF POSSIBLE. MY FRIENDS AND I WERE VERY OFFENDED BCAUSE OF THOSE SUPER RUDE WAITERS. They are always like that and we didnt mine at all until just today they kicked us out without asking whether we have finished our food or not while other tables that had finished their food long before we ordered ours were able to stay for a short talk<br/><br/><br/>We were regular customer and I pretty am sure the guy in the kitchen even recognizes me. <br/>The food was good tho but the service was really a disappointment
Bite The Looks By BHA
This place located underneath the Fulton apartment itself.. the place and the ambience was fast pace, crowded, small but cozy, bright and airy.. the staffs were not a friendly type and the service was a bit dissapoinment for me.<br/><br/>FOOD<br/>1. Traditional pan mee(dry), spinach, dried prawn chilli, fried anchovies, minced pork and thin noodles<br/><br/>2. Fried pork pan mee(dry), anchovies, spring onion, fried onion and thin noodles <br/><br/>Overall the food were amazing! The taste almost similar like what i had back when i went to malaysia. The noodles was super soft, the anchovies were super crispy, the egg was perfectly cooked, the fried pork was juicy inside yet crispy outside, the vegies were fresh, generous portion of food given and nice presentation..<br/><br/>Will coming back for more!<br/><br/>#BHAsFoodDiary

Food was actually quite nice but the service from some (not all) of the staff makes the experience a little unpleasant. Felt like the person taking the order didn't really want to be there and was impatient with us, was quite abrupt. To be fair the manager? was quite nice and attentive.

Pan mee is one of my favourite Malaysian food, and it is HARD to find an authentic version around Melbourne. Although most of the Malaysian restaurants serve pan mee, I found Jojo Little Kitchen serves the best and authentic pan mee in Melbourne, even down to the dipping chilli sauce. I usually will get the Jojo special pan mee with 'tear' noodle for the chewiness (but everyone has their own preference). This place is quite hidden gem, and so far I haven't been disappointed.
MelbFoodie
Had high expectations but was slightly disappointed. It was a good bowl of noodles but was nothing special. I had the lat jiu pan mee. For 13.5 a bowl, it was a small bowl. I did leave feeling full but not satisfied
Fendi
Noodle is tasty and the broth is delicious too. I normally order their jojo pork dry, they will give soup on the side. The drink selection is okay.
Michi
Comfort noodle soup at its best. My favourite is their jojo pork or the wonton noodle soup. Would try other dish next time. Too bad they don’t do delivery, service.
Makan2Melbourne
Tried their crispy pork with thin noodle. The ‘thin’ noodle wasn’t exactly thin, It’d be considered thick at other places. The pork was crispy and tasty! But the sauce at the bottom was too much for me, it was a bit overwhelming, might ask for separated sauce next time. But there will definitely be a next time!
Chii
A hidden gem! Not a fan of noodles but this one is superb. We had the Pan Mee both as a soup and dry. They’re both good in their own ways. Would love to try more from their menu. 😋<br/><br/>

If you want to have the best pan mee in town, this is the place to go. I was so keen to check this place out when my mate told me about how good their pan mees are. I had to go and try them out myself to see if it's true. I'd say that the chewiness of the noodles, the flavour of the sauce and the crispiness of the char siu are in fact 95% identical to pan mees that I've tried in Malaysia. I'd highly recommend all the noodle lovers to give this place a try!
Forknifespoon
One of my favourite asian noodle places! I had dry lat jiu ban mee with thin noodles. Reminded me of home, it was so gooooood! (Altho it’s slightly too much oil for me)<br/><br/>This would be my go to place whenever i need a quick takeaway yet heartwarming meal.
WillEat2Eat
Found a place in a small alley that is very crowded. The place is really clean and serve is pretty quick. <br/><br/>We ordered Fried Pork Pan Mee with thick noodles and Lat Jiu Pan Mee with thin noodles and extra wonton topping.<br/><br/>The noodle in Fried Pork Pan Mee is cooked perfectly. With the combination of the sauce, it really brings back to Asian noodle. Pork is crispy and juicy. Would really recommend this for those who can eat a little bit spicy (they give chili sauce). For Lat Jiu Pan Mee, the chili served with minced pork are packed a punch that we can’t say any words of it. However, the noodles was overcooked slightly. Wishing that they can have a consistent texture in cooking the noodle. Additionally, wonton just tasted delicious too.<br/><br/>Overall, this will be a restaurant where we would like to come again to try their different Pan Mee.
Sivashankar Sivam
You can’t go past good pan mee and this place barely hit the right spot<br/><br/>I got the dry version and it was alright, the flat noodles were great in texture. The pork was half delicious and well cooked but it’s weird that this place charges you for an egg? I believe the egg should come with each and every pan mee variety dish they have on the menu, for the hefty price they are charging. The veggies were just blandly soaked in water for the sake of adding some greens to accompany the dish. The anchovies were standard - adding the salty element to the dish. I must say the the chilli condiment was great though. <br/><br/>Service was non existent as you’d expect from a typical Asian joint. Not too sure if I’d visit this place again- well over rated.
Mr.Tan
Visit this place quite often due to its authenticity, no doubt. However, I ordered a traditional dry noodle in my recent visit and it turned out to be very salty- Saltier than the usual taste!<br/><br/>Besides, I think the professionalism of the staff needed to be improved. The staff speaks and laughs loudly, which it gave many customers a very uncomfortable dining ambience.
Alvinn
I have tried the Lor Pan Mee and it tastes so bad. It is totally different with the authentic Lor Pan Mee in Malaysia. The Lor tastes sour and salty. Service is great but the price is slightly higher for just a bowl of noodle which is around $14 and the side dishes is also highly priced.<br/><br/>Not recommend this place to others and hope they can improve their food.

Located below Fulton Lane apartments, situated centrally and easy to find. Limited indoor seating, mostly small tables. Outdoor seats available. Waiting time was decent, food arrived piping hot and stayed that way for a really long time. Pan mee soup was delicious, I'm not a soup or a pan mee person but drank it down to the last drop, finished the hearty portion too. Kids enjoyed their noodles too, no complaints. Would return! <br/><br/>Note: the sugarcane drink isn't the usual straight up sugarcane juice. It's mixed with sweet potato and some other stuff. <br/><br/>And also, EFTPOS incurs 1% surcharge so have cash ready if you want to skip on that.
Iris Ng
I dont know what they put in this but i loved it! I got the Fried Pork Pan Mee. Pork was a bit too fatty for my liking but everything else was very good! All the noodles evenly coated and chilli had a good hit. I will be back!
Crabapples For Lunch
A great little place serving authentic Malaysian Ban Mee noodles. There are some other Malaysian restaurants around Melbourne that are decent, but at Jojo's you can really tell that care was put into each element of the dish. The highlight is definitely the noodles - you can choose between different kinds but each is springy and a delight to eat, not just filler carbs for your meal. The sauce (if you order your noodles dry) is well balanced and there's a nice hit of white pepper fragrance when the dish arrives at your table. I really like Jojo's pork noodles as well as the crispy pork noodles. But since the crispy pork can be ordered as a side dish (and is a generous portion!), I often end up ordering the Jojo's pork. A great tip to know is if you're dining in, you can request for a bowl of complimentary soup with your dry noodles. If you're taking away I believe they automatically provide you with the soup.<br/><br/>The staff are quite friendly, attentive and efficient. Cost wise the noodle dishes are around $12-14, and when considering the care and quality of the food I find is quite reasonably priced. Be aware there is a small surcharge for EFTPOS and other cards.<br/><br/>I would definitely recommend this place for authentic Malaysian noodles.

Portion is sad. Can u guys please serve more noods? The girl on the counter without dyed hair- always working here with a ponytail and slightly chubby - u gotta learn how to speak with a better tone. U sounded so bitchy when we asked you if we could swap places. And u rudely answered us saying no, walked away. We decided to wait a little bit until people were done with their meals.. then we just moved ourselves to the seats for 4. Talk about rational seat placing - u could’ve just asked the couple to scoot in a little so we 4 can get a spot. U left 4 awkward seats - 2 seats available at both sides of the couple and left us waiting for seats . So silly.

A poor representation of Malaysia's JoJo little kitchen as the price is so high that doesnt match the bad quality & taste of the panmee. It does look very pleasing to eat, but the taste proves otherwise.
Pluviophile
This noodle place is quite popular among asian students, especialy those who are Singaporeans, Malaysians and Indonesians. Not only that the location is tucked under a rather new apartment building, they also say that the food is quite authentic. So we decided to try it. Finding the place was not difficult as long as we paid attention to the signage directing to this place. It was Saturday and this place was already packed with a bunch of students. We managed to get a table and ordered the dry crispy pork pan mee and the chili pan mee (also dry). We thought that the dry noodle one would mean that the soup was on the side, and we were totally wrong. There was no soup at all. However, both noodles tasted great and portioned well for the price. The chili sauce was definitely a must to add an extra kick. The only downside was the texture of the noodle was a little chewy for my wife’s liking. Other than that, it was a pleasant breakfast for us.

ive been a longtime patron of jojo in KL so I am aware of the standards and General Pan mee quality. The Melbourne branch is not a bad replication - but the price tag is pretty steep for what it is - a bowl of noodles. $13.90 for a standard bowl of chilli pan mee is a bit absurd for my Husband And I. The mushroom porkball was delicious at $10 for 6 balls but again, so expensive! I would come back if I crave for pan mee again but not so soon - I feel like the price is not an accurate reflection of the food!

Great food!! Cheap and tasty. My favorite is the century egg thick noodle with soup. Then add crispy pork on the side. Their CRISPY PORK IS THE BEST 😍. Definitely my go-to when I am in hurry and need something nice but fast. The place can be very crowded at times tho, so avoid rush hours if you don’t want to queue. You can also do takeaway if you don’t want to eat-in. Because the place is pretty small.

I've heard about this place specialising in pan mee and suggested it to my friends to try it for lunch during one of the weekends. It was hard to find this place as it was located within the building, you have to walk on the right side past the building entrance and you'll see Jojo on the left.<br/>They served pan mee in a few different ways-soup and dry, and there's also other side dishes available.<br/>I would recommend if you're craving a decent bowl of pan mee.
Catherine
Small place, but don’t let that deter you from dining here. If there is a line, the wait is worth it. The noodles are so fresh and bouncy, you also get to choose the width of your noodles. I’ve had both wet and dry noodles and both times they were great.
Eats With Kayli
Their pan mee (with soup and dry) are probably one of the best ones you can find in Melbourne right now.<br/><br/>The fried pork is a must order every time you go - it’s just too good, especially with their chilli sauce. <br/><br/>The fried dumplings with century egg inside are pretty good too. <br/><br/>The main downside is that during almost every visit I have been there, the time I have had to wait for my noodles has been over 15 minutes. One of the times they even forgot my order but everyone else on my table got theirs. :(<br/><br/>If they can improve on this that would be really great. The staff need to be more attentive.
Kyu
Great food with great staffs. Being outside of Australia, I miss this place the most. If you are willing to have some good noodle, take time to visit.

Full with msg, it make you super thirsty!!!No free extra chilli but u need to pay for it, fried pork just a tiny piece of pork belly , not worth to try at all…

Great little noodle place! Amazing value.<br/><br/>Ordered Lobster Ball with dry noodle $10.40!<br/><br/>Lucky I read someone’s review and they mentioned it is hard to find. Address said 120 A’Beckett Street but the entry not at street level so look for the restaurant sign and follow the arrow.<br/><br/>Will define come back to try the other item on the menu. 👍

Alas, a decent pan mee in Melbourne. Jojo is a franchise in Malaysia with pan mee as their specialty dish. Pan mee is a type of hand made noodle traditionally served in soup. Jojo serves a variety of pan mee in different shape and combination. The shop is quite hidden from the main road -A Beckett st. There is also no signage from the main road so you could easily miss it. The shop is small with limited seating but there are plenty of outdoor seating as well if you don’t mind the cold. We ordered the traditional soup pan mee and crispy pork dry pan mee with coffee each. The portion is quite big even for the beverage. The noodle was so smooth and the broth is flavourful. Will definitely come back for a good pan mee!

The place is tiny and the service is so bad. I don’t know why this store has such a high rating. I have been waiting for 30 minuets for the simple dry noodle. They told me there is a group people who ordered before, but actually they came late than me. Don’t ever lie to your customers

To be honest I was impressed, at first I thought it would be an ordinary noodle place, but their dishes really stand out, the portion size is not large but you do get a wide variety of tasty noodles

Pan Mee (also known as Mee Hoon Keuy) is a classic Malaysian comfort dish. It ain’t easy to find good ones in Malaysia, let alone Melbourne. At least this was until Jojo Little Kitchen brought a taste of home to Melbourne. Menu is simple but stays true to its core - tasty noodles with different variations i.e. dry, soup, chilli and others. Jojo’s kitchen may be little, but they are definitely big in flavours.

chill ban mee - excellent. <br/>fried pork noodles dry - excellent. the fried pork is really amazing. dry noodles taste like wan tan mee. <br/>herbal chicken ban mee - excellent. perfect blend of chinese wine & herbs. amazing for nourishing a cold, though a little heavy on the msg.<br/>soup ban mee - good.<br/><br/>definitely the best ban mee in melbourne!

Very close to authentic pan mee... probably the best so far in Melbourne. Staff are friendly too...<br/><br/>Although I am a little confused... when you order hot and sour pan mee dry - I would expect the soup to be hot and sour soup not the normal traditional soup? Hope this feedback is taken onboard.

The food is normal and one frustrated thing is that they charged the dried chili for $1 for add on! should make it free for add on chili and it will attract more customers because of this !

It’s hard to find this restaurant, it’s hidden! May I suggest to the owner to put up a sign board outside the building, at least an arrow to show the location of the restaurant. <br/>What I ordered today?<br/>🍜 Traditional Pan Mee in soup<br/>🍜 Pork Pan Mee in soup <br/>🍴Fried Pork<br/>+ 3 Layer Tea <br/><br/>Review:<br/>The texture of the pan mee is really good for me, I ordered the thin ones. But the soup is just not to my liking, not much flavour though. The soup of the Pork Pan Mee is a bit better than the traditional Pan Mee soup maybe because they put pork lard in it. I don’t quite like the fried pork because I feel the 5 spice flavour is too strong and also they use a lot of flour to coat the meat to fry it therefore you get crispy pork. The meat is a bit dry for me. Lastly, the 3 layer tea is average, can’t taste the palm sugar though or was it brown sugar? <br/>Will I be back? Maybe but not definitely not in this year.... 🍋

The noodles are so good especially with chillies. Hearty with a huge portion! The waitress and waiters are friendly too. Will defiantly come back

Summary:<br/>Terrible, not recommended, would never go back. It's really sad to see such terrible food business running with ruined traditional popular dish in Malaysia. Probably the worst Pan Mee I ever ate in my life.<br/><br/>Failed to take customers request into consideration:<br/>Ordered a milk tea and requested for less ice but it doesn't seems lesser than normal. There are still half class of ice when I left after finished the drink. Terrible taste, compare with other Malaysia restaurant like laksa house.<br/><br/>Dished ordered:<br/>- Traditional Pan Mee<br/>- Slice Pork and Pork ball Pan New<br/>- Teh ice (they call it "milk tea")<br/><br/>Noodle texture: the noodle was OK, not bad actually, had the thin noodle and the teared noodle.<br/><br/>Soup broth: the soup was actually way below average. Too sweet. That's very usual for Pan Mee. I would expect ikan bilis taste but could taste barely any. Very disappointed.<br/><br/>The pork: stinky (typical australia disgusting pork flavor) and disgusting. The slice pork doesn't looks any like the usual Malaysia cut / style. Pork ball was tasteless and nothing interesting (you can get these artificial pork balls from any Asian grocery). Mince pork on top of the traditional pan mee stinky and not marinated. If you don't get what I mean go check out laksa house see how they cook their pork.<br/><br/>The chilli sauce: taste weird and doesn't match the dish. Never had any kind of chilli which taste like that to serve with pan mee.

A bowlful of noodles with an addictive chilli sauce which I couldn’t get enough off. Although noodles was their specialty, to me their crispy pork is a winner! Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, paired with their spicy chilli simply yum! As for price, I thought it was a little pricey. But hey for a delicious piece of pork, I am happy to spend a little more.

Tucked away in fulton lane (a'beckett street) this very affordable malaysian eatery is very wholesome with no frills or fuss.<br/><br/>Ordered:<br/>🍝 Lat Jiu (chilli) pan mee (dry): noodles with minced pork, dried chilli, dried anchovies, fried onions and poached egg ($13.50)<br/>+ 🥟 wontons 3pcs ($2.50)<br/>+ 🥟 dumpling with prawn ($3.00)<br/>3 Coloured Tea: ($4.50)<br/><br/>Review:<br/>First time pan mee, and it wasn't bad at all. With thick noodles and the satisfaction of mixing everything together, it's the variation of things in the dish and the slow burn from the dried chilli that brings me to life.<br/><br/>The tea was also delicious and sweet. Would recommend this if you want a basic milk tea fix!

Had the loh pan mee. Was pretty good. Feels so close to home. However it's a bit of a wait. But else all good. And its behind an alley so a little bit hard to find.

I found the food to be good. The chilli paste that comes with the pan mee is the exact type of chilli paste to be used with pan mee, sort of like malay sambal belacan and we loved it. Had the fried pork pan mee with generous servings of pork. The fried anchovies was lovely as well. Overall would like to try out their chilli pan mee and regular whenever i go next

This place is operated by Malaysian staffs. Service is good. However, the food is not as good as I expect. The chilies paste is the most important thing in eating the noodles, however, I can only feel spicy and salty in it. Totally taste different with the one I had in Malaysia. The drinks I had was honey lemon which i think is too sweet. Will not go back again.

MELBOURNE | Jojo Little Kitchen is a popular Malaysian eatery that recently opened their first Australian store. They specialise in Pan Mee, a Hakka-style flat flour noodle that’s very popular in Malaysia.

Food is tasty and nice but issue is the amount of MSG that's used in the soup broth making it salty.<br/>It caused my girlfriend to be unwell on the night.<br/>During our first visit it was tasty but can sense abit over use of MSG but 2nd time was worse due to over usage of MSG causing my girlfriend to be unwell on the night.

Updated: 29 Dec 2018<br/><br/>Ordered the chili pan Mee with tear noodle, herbal chicken pan Mee soup, fried wontan, and fried pork. Delicious.<br/><br/>Last time....<br/><br/>Wow this place is difficult to find. You have to walk into a tiny laneway, walk past bicycle parking space before you see the shop. I would recommend the shop owner put some directions next to the Korean restaurant.<br/><br/>Ordered the original pan mee soup that comes with mince pork, spinach, fried anchovies and mushrooms. The broth is so good, probably made with pork bones. Comfort food on a cold Melbourne night.<br/><br/>Second dish is dry pan mee with fried pork. This is so delicious. The pork meat must have been marinated with five spice. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. When it is mixed with the sweet noodle gravy, it is to die for. Dish came with mushrooms, spinach and dry shallots.<br/><br/>I think the noodles are made in house, fresh and has a chewy consistency. You can choose thin, thick, wide and rough.<br/><br/>Since the fried pork is so damn good, we ordered it as a side.<br/><br/>For drinks, tried the $3 dried sugar cane drink, very refreshing.<br/><br/>Price point, ok due to the location. I have eaten pan mee many times at Papparich which cost around $14. Over at JoJo it is 12, and the pan mee here is more tasty.<br/><br/>Customer service is ok, staff friendly and well presented.<br/><br/>Highly recommend this authentic Malaysian pan mee joint. On the night the place is full.

I visited outside of lunch hour but service was still poor. Counter and floor staff are not very friendly or helpful. The space is small and cramped. Food here is decent but overpriced. I would recommend to come once to try Pan Mee but I wouldn’t be a returning customer.

Not the easiest place to be found. The ambience is pretty basic. It's for a quick and cheap feed. Not a place to linger around. Efficient service.<br/><br/>I enjoyed my pan mee. I has the traditional one with thin noodles. The noodles were springy and chewy which I enjoy. It's a tad too salty for me.<br/><br/>All in all a great pan mee place. I would head back.<br/><br/>

I had dinner here on a Friday night - there was a short queue but otherwise the turnover was very quick and we were seated in 10 minutes. I ordered the dry chilli ban mee and my friend ordered the fried pork ban mee. The chilli ban mee was delicious - the spice hits you in the face but is so addictive that you want more. The annoying thing was that unlike in Malaysia, they don’t have chilli on the side for you to top up. Instead, if you want extra chilli you have to pay for it. I like that you can choose the thickness of the noodles you want. I would have liked more fried ikan billis to give the noodles more flavour. We also ordered fried wontons and pork and mushroom ball soup to share. The wontons were crispy and tasty and the soup was flavourful and had lots of veggies. The pork and mushroom balls were tender and delicious. I also ordered iced milk tea and sugarcane juice which were both delicious. The food is on the pricey side but not surprising given its location. I will definitely be back to try other things.

I love pan mee, but this was pretty mediocre. It tasted okay, but my tear noodles were bad. The pieces were so clumped and cooked unevenly. Maybe reconsider the way you store your fresh noodles, especially since I paid extra for the tear noodles!
