Review Roll'd - Melbourne

OH Ginny
I do not recommend this shop.. i rather have sushi or something else. Broken rice paper and staff told me fresh made and nothing wrong with it. I think pretty pricey for this quality of food. (I should checked review first before I order it

The quality of the food at this store got definitely worse. The rice paper rolls are super thin and small, there is barely meat inside, I feel like I’m chewing just on the rice paper rather than the filling inside. I also found black hair in 2 of my rolls!!! This is an absolute NO GO! Would not recommend buying food from there.

The quality has certainly gone downhill. The 2 x duck rice paper rolls that I had today were half their normal size, poorly made, and stale. They should have never been served to customers. Please train your staff better, stock up on the sauces, and discard any rolls that are no longer fresh (should have a time limit on how long they can stay on the shelves as part of food safety practices)!

Your staff need to understand the severity and seriousness of allergies. The last 4 times I have ordered or eaten here, your staff have ignored reminders or instructions to not include the allergen on my food, and clearly do not understand how dangerous this is. Ridiculous.

I got some home delivery from Roll'd Victoria Gardens. The food arrived on time and the quality was excellent. I shared a Banh Mi, Goi, Soilders, Bao Buns, and some crispy prawn crackers. What a feast it was. Everything was so fresh and tasty. And with a good range of vegetarian options I was impressed.

HIGH QUALITY FOOD AND CHEERY STAFF There are a few Rolld restaurants in Melbourne and I think this one wins for freshness and friendliness. You get the same menu options (pho, rice paper rolls etc) but the rolls do seem tastier and fresher here. Its in the food court, with no dedicated seating but plenty of seats and tables throughout the food court. If you are in a hurry, go for the rice paper rolls which you will get immmediatley. If you want a bowl of pho you will generally be given a buzzer to take to your table and retrieve the pho when buzzed. My only criticism of the restaurant (and this applies to all the food court outlets) is that everything is single use - spoons, chopsticks, boxes (for the rolls), plastic tubs for the sauces and plastic bowls for the pho. There wasn't a recycle bin option when I'd finished my meal so I had to discard all that plastic into a general waste bin :( Overall - great value , good food and friendly service.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. My duck roll could’ve been vegetarian with the scattering tiny bits of duck and mostly noodles. Needless to say it tasted dull. It was also chewy and far from fresh even though they had just put several new trays out.

Mushroom and Tofu Pho is delicious. Pork belly and crackling baos are my favourite. Staff are lovely.

Some of the worst "vietnamese" food I've ever been served. Cold. Stale bread rolls. Staff abrupt and unpleasant. Go elsewhere for your banh mi fix

The Vietnamese rolls were fresh and tasty.

The service was ok, but one thing that I did notice was that not all of the Vietnamese rice paper rolls were included on the price list. Just like the soft shell crab and the duck that I brought haha

Mmnn of course the 2 rolls that I brought were the most expensive but that was ok.

I tried the citrus mayonnaise sauce which was really good and the chilli sauce (and I was warned that it was spicy) well this blew my socks off hahaha... phew!! Spicy it was!!

Overall it was really good food in a place that has a limited choice of healthy options.

I had just caught an afternoon show at the cinema and wanted a quick bite on the way home. The food court at Victoria Gardens was nice and spacious even though it was very busy.

I picked up 2 rice paper rolls - chicken and tofu. Both were pretty ordinary. As with most things from Roll'd, the overall experience was bland and really not worth the money. It's a shame because a Vietnamese franchise has so much potential which unfortunately at this stage, remains unfulfilled.

Crispy chicken ribs and spring rolls were delicious. We ordered chicken pho on Uber eats. They forgot to put in the fresh chilli I selected and didn’t include the pots of hoisin and chilli sauce provided when you get takeaway from the store.

I usually order a lemongrass beef goi salad from roll’d franchises but I’d have to say by far this is the worst one I’ve had. The meat tasted really bad and the prawn crackers were under cooked. I would not recommended this place. Go with one of the other options at the food court.

Hugely overpriced, bland food. It's hard to find a foodcourt option as poor as Roll'd. Sure, they all have their short comings, but none are as brazen to try to charge such high prices for such poor tasting food. The bread roll for the bahn mi is clearly some sort of par-baked rubbish, as the entire roll crumbles. Not crunch and flake like a really nice fresh bahn mi should, just literally disintergrate in the wrapping. The ingredients are sloppy, it's so light you hardly even get a feed, and overall it's a poor experience. And they're asking $9.50. And the 'soldier' (rice paper roll). 95% ricepaper wrapper and ricepaper noodles. The actual ingredients are so thin and bland you need to pile on the sauce for it to taste like anything other than wet paper. And again, $4.50 for 1. So overall, very expensive to get enough food to feel like you've had a quick meal, and what you do get, you don't enjoy because of the poor flavour and food quality. To Roll'd head office, you are a food business, put the quality and value of your food at the center of your customer offering, otherwise you won't be around for very long

OMG the worst pho i had ever tried. Ordered deliveroo and i had the mixed chicken n beef noodle soup. I couldnt take it anymore after the 2nd spoon. Beef has some kind of strange taste, chicken is just crumb like leftover food. I have never rated or reviewed any restaurant but this is the exception..

They make very delicious bánh mì and pretty good fresh spring rolls. However, I wouldn't order their Phở again, so sweet and salty and does not taste authentic. Their service is fast and professional.

Went here seeing the long line at the food court! Had the duck rice paper roll here. The duck rice paper roll was good but nothing spectacular.

Only came here to get something quick before the film. Three staff at counter had a queue of 7 people waiting while one was on her phone. Finally got to order chicken coleslaw salad and iced coffee and paid and waited with buzzer. Picked up my order when it was ready and it wasn’t till I sat down that I realized the drink was missing. I went back and the girl acknowledged they had ran out of ingredients. I said it would have been good if you had told me at the time of pick up and asked for a refund for the drink I never received. Dishonest service!

Chicken pho is lovely, with tasty broth that doesn’t leave you thirsty after. Though expensive at $12.50 with little chicken in it, having said that well cooked an not dry although it’s chicken breast. Generous with the bean sprouts. Haven’t tried anything else so this review is based only on the chicken pho.

I visited Roll'd Vic Gardens on a lunch break with a friend. Even though it was over lunch time, service was very prompt.
I had two low carb tofu soldiers and one low carb barramundi solider. Both were nice, I favoured the tofu though. Hoisin and chilli mayo sauces mixed together is really good to dip the soldiers in.
However, I think the soldiers are a little over priced.

Got deliveroo from here. Chicken ribs tasted like they had been left in the outback for three years. Bahn mi was horrendously dry with little taste and double the price of an actual good roll on victoria street. Yuck.

Very disappointing and poor quality. One small piece of meat per roll, dry and chewy - both chicken and beef. The girl also packaged each roll seperate from each other so ended up with three big boxes for one order of three tiny rolls. Why? Would not recommend.

I ordered the lemon grass beef rice paper roll and a beef and chicken pho cup. Mediocre at best. The rice paper was a little rubbery and beef lack flavour. The pho broth was bland bland bland, what made it worse is this place doesn't have condiments on offer like most Vietnamese places. If that's the case the pho broth needs to be amazing that you don't need to add anything!

Quite literally stood waiting for a singular bao bun for 20 minutes until i asked what the hell was going on. The embarrassed server said the people put back had to defrost them. WHO THE HELL SERVES DEFROATED BAO BUNS. You are meant to serve 'fresh' vietnamese food. Not frozen. Horrible service as they waited for me to ask after 20 minutes. Never going back after finding out they serve frozen buns. What next, the pho is made from a packet soup?

Banh Mi was soooo tasty!! My boyfriend really like it. Its was cook enough and so good with pork ever. Also we had noodle and duck spring rolls was yummy :) thanks
Good Food Good Mood
I've been to Roll'd plenty of times and while I love their rice papers I actually find them overpriced at around the $4 mark and generally needing more than 3 to be full, this is not a cheap takeaway. However last night I was lured by an iced tea machine with a peach flavour on offer decided to try a BBQ chicken bao as I do love a good bao bun. This bun was nice and fluffy which is a good thing as there wasn't exactly much chicken in said bun and for $4.90 I wasn't impressed. I also tried a lemongrass beef Bahn mi which at $8.90 had a lot more meat in it but lacked the punchy flavours I expect from Vietnamese food. At the end of the day it is essentially fast food so it's probably a healthier and fresher option than what else is on offer but it didn't blown me away
Two Bears And A Fork
We've tried Roll'd now 3 or 4 times, at different locations - and you know, for a cuisine that's not that easy to make in a 'fast food' style - these guys are actually doing a pretty bad*ss job! I'd have to say, being Vietnamese myself, I didn't expect much when we first tried - but we've both been very impressed with the overall quality and flavours. So much so, it's equal-to-surpassing a lot of actual Viet restaurants out there who water down the flavours and ingredients to save a penny. Sure, nothing's gonna beat real home cooked Viet food - like many cuisines, it's best when it's truly fresh and made on the spot (but kudos for Roll'd for making much of their stuff fresh - although rice paper rolls do 'age' quickly so if it's 8pm, you might want to go for something else). So when your options are deep-fried XYZ and burgers burgers burgers - Roll'd is a breath of fresh air and a much healthier option! We haven't had anything we've disliked yet.... so they've won our fast-food vote!

The rolls here are all rice noodles, very little meat/tofu or anything else for that matter in the rolls. Way overpriced for what you're getting.
$6.90 for one roll and a bottle of water
Staff are friendly.
