Absolutely the best degustation experience on the Sunshine Coast. World class food - the wagyu tartare is to die for. Our favorite and we love this place. We will be back. Again and again x

An amazing dining experience. Had lunch here on a spectacular winters day. Table was set on the lawn and we were ready for our 5 courses with matching wines. What was received was so much more! As often is the case at high caliber restaurants, a number of ‘snack’ courses were thrown in making it more like 9 or 10 courses. Each dish beautifully presented with ingredients that were local, fresh and danced on the plate. long apron is most definitely bordering on restaurant and art gallery. Loved it.

With the old app this would have scored a 4.5 but I feel that 4 would be unfair. Great service, amazing presentation. I didn’t necessarily liked all the combinations of flavours but I can recognise the incredible work done by the team. Very well done!

The best start to our weekend away. We had the 5 course menu. My lamb belly was perfect as was my husband's wagyu. The combination of flavours is so regional to the area. We loved every moment.

We came here and selected the five course menu. They offer plenty of enticing additional elements to the experience, including the delicious consomme, taco and pork bread dish. Although my boyfriend didn't like the champagne lobster dish, everything showed a lot of technique. The service was attentive without being off putting. Great wine selection. I would definitely love to come back.

After hearing so many glowing reviews about this restaurant we decided to treat ourselves for our wedding anniversary. We chose the tasting menu with the non-driver (me) electing to also have the carefully selected wine pairings.
The lunch tastings menu was an incredible journey of flavour, texture, colour and artistry! Just beautiful (See photos).
The staff are polite, attentive and kept to our pace the whole way through the meal. They stopped for a chat when we were chatty and left us alone otherwise.
Next time we might try the dinner menu!

We booked while on our recent holiday in Noosa. It was a cold and dark night, but arriving here it felt like we were being transported back in time. The building was so beautiful. We sat down in the small restaurant and decided on the 5 course a la carte. The staff were very helpful and friendly in helping us choose. The food was amazing and wine was perfect and reasonable also. We left very full and satisfied.
The other diners were all much older so the place felt quite serious, but we felt the staff added a down to earth touch. Would highly recommend this well considered menu.

My husband and I spent a few nights at Spicers Tamarind and for one of them we did the 7 course tasting menu at The Long Apron. We were completely blown away! This place is so far removed from your average "hotel restaurant". I'm ashamed to admit we weren't expecting great things from this tiny restaurant tucked away in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. But we couldn't keep our condescending city kid hats on past the first course - they would have spoiled our enjoyment of a stunning, technically brilliant and creatively thought-out evening of food that we rated up there with some of the best degustations in the country. If you get the opportunity to go here - don't think, just book!

An amazing spot for a little no lunch. Innovate and beautiful dishes that were a delight to try. The five course was perfect in terms of portion size.

To celebrate an anniversary, a morning spent in Montville Village followed by lunch at The Long Apron at Spicers Clovelly Estate was in order. Shopping works up an appetite so we were looking forward to celebrating at this one hat restaurant.

The menu offered a 5 course a la cart option or a 7 course tasting experience. We opted for a la cart as all the choices sounded amazing. I could write everything we thought of each dish but that would take too long so I will just do the highlights to try to keep this review shorter.

Firstly, the 5 courses turned out to be 8 as we were served 2 separate superb canapés and a delicious sorbet before the dessert course.
The first course of steamed scampi and the potato, oyster and garlic broth were delightfully delicate and a great combination of flavours to start with. They got us excited.

Second course we chose seafood again with poached and fried spanner crab and Moolooloba prawn cocktail. Again we were not disappointed and our anticipation of the rest of the dishes grew and grew.
The third course was a step up from the others. The previous courses, both amazing, you could almost guess what it would look and taste like. This course truly challenged our sense of imagination. When you read leaves from the garden and wagyu tartare you could be forgiven for picturing a garden salad with raw meat. What arrived were charred leaves and the most delightful mix of wagyu, spices and sauce. Never had tartare before I didn’t have anything to compare it to but OMG, the flavours and textures in this dish were mind blowing. It was a real favourite.
Suckling pig with squid ink and grouper fillet finished off the protein courses. The pig was the most succulent pork ever tasted and the squid ink crackling was masterful. The grouper in sauce vin blanc was enjoyed equally. At this point of the meal we didn’t just want to thank the chef, we wanted to kiss him.
Coming to an end we chose malted potato ice cream with hay ash and beer and the rhubarb sorbet. Not even being able to imagine the ice cream dish I don’t even have the words to describe it after trying it. I think I loved it but I’m not sure? This is one dish I will be talking about for a long time and one you will have to try for yourselves. So intriguing it’s just one of those dishes which doesn’t come around very often. What I do know is, it is special.

With so much to say about the layered complexities of flavours, the textures with every course having the right amount of crunch and the work of art on each plate, I have to say these were all matched by the brilliant service from our waiter who was knowledgeable, warm and sincere in her dealings with us.

The Long Apron would have to be in our top 3 of all time best restaurant experiences….. nothing to fault, everything to praise and a challenge to your imagination.

We became a fan of Andrew Birse’s cooking when he worked at Malt Dining many years ago. We have been following him after he left Malt. When I learned he is the new head chef at the Long Apron, I made a booking immediately. The whole dining experience exceeded my high expectation. Food was amazing, pairing of various vegetables with different protein was genius. I loved every single dish but really liked the chicken tortellini and the duck. The onion broth is phenomenal. The restaurant decor feels high end and classy. Service was attentive, there were many front house staffs and they were all professional. The wine pairing was good and the wine list is impressive. In my opinion, it’s worth driving over an hour to Montville for this amazing dinner. Thank you Andrew and his team. I will definitely come back.

Very impressive experience of fine dining and escape from busy/noisy locations. The restaurant decor is charming and classy. Foods are beautiful and tasty. However, the dinner is a bit slow serving, we a bit sleepy while waiting!:) Kids menu need to be changed to more fun and attractive for “real kids”.

What an evening... We decided that to get the most out of the evening that we would opt in for The Long Apron's tasting menu with wine pairing. Sure it might be a bit expensive, but for good reason. The food and wine pairing was something out of a gourmet travelling experience. With multiple wines from Australia as well as abroad paired with each dish, for you to really soak in the flavour of the dish, as well as see what an incredible change the wine can go through, depending on what you are eating. The staff was amazing. Friendly from start to finish, and very knowledgeable about each dish as well as how and why the wine was picked for those dishes. What we do love about theses experiences is that the staff give their honest opinions about what they like the best and why, making for great conversation as the night goes on. Celebrating a 10 year anniversary was made just as special by the restaurant as they greeted us with an absolutely fantastic champagne to start the evening, and a little treat at the end just to say congratulations. Too kind of them. Definitely recommend the wine pairing with the tasting menu.

I’ll start by saying that the quality of the food was 5-stars, if a little expensive, but that’s to be expected for the location and beautiful setting. The chef kindly catered to my partner being a vegetarian and allowed us each to do different versions of the tasting menu. Regarding the service, one expects professionalism from a fine dining setting, but that service should never be robotic like it was for us. Our waitress hardly said a word to us all night but for the soft announcement of the dishes that came out. We were never offered another drink despite empty glasses and had to call over other staff to order. We were also declined being able to order a simple classic cocktail from the restaurant manager only to have a far more bubbly and enjoyable waitress make one in a matter of minutes. It seemed to me the venue tries a little to hard and perhaps this type of service appeals to some, but we certainly would have appreciated a little more conversation, personalised service, and some information about the food beyond a softly spoken generic list of the obvious ingredients on the plate. Again, the food and wine was amazing and I’d happily suggest people experience it, but also hope the restaurant takes these comments into consideration.

Food delicious and creative, service was average, lady serving us didn’t seem to love her job and was quite stand offish, music was not aligned to an expensive restaurant. Could not fault the food though

A beautiful restaurant with Michelin-worthy food, in a serene and magical setting. We had the three course a la carte menu and it was all divine. I particularly recommend the lamb main, and the black pudding entree. The only point to improve upon is that the server seemed a little cold and unfriendly. For the price of the dining experience, and the superior menu, it would be marvellous if the service had matched the premium standard set.

Everyone is making beef cheek these days and they do have the best i ever had. Rice pudding ice Cream was interesting and surprisingly inspiring. The service was excellent, the place is located in a nice and spacious setting, relaxing classic French decor. By in large, that was an awesome experienced.

Had the pleasure of enjoying chef Andy's degustation menu. It was an exceptional sequence of dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection. Worthy of the 4 hour back and forth drive for dinner.
