I came here for a birthday, as they have a birthday offer available. We ordered one of the tasting menus and everything was absolutely delicious. The wine was matched very well to the meal, at the advice of the staff. The atmosphere was fun, feeling like we were sitting on a boat, without the bobbing. I really enjoyed my experience and will be back.
Brought my friend here as a belated birthday treat. Got a table at 6pm and decided to order the Chef’s sharing feast for 65pp as it seemingly offered decent value for money. As we were the first customers of the night, we were promptly shown to our tables and our food and drinks arrived shortly after. We started our meal with the house made crusty sourdough dipped in olive oil, followed by bruschetta, slow cooked veal in tuna mayonnaise and crispy fried squid. The sourdough was unfortunately too hard to eat comfortably, but the bruschetta and squid were divine. As I wasn’t a huge fan of mayo, the veal course didn’t do too much for me but it was delicious when eaten sparingly with mayo. Next we had mains of a tomato pasta of wagyu beef, grilled king prawns and grilled chicken with corn. Unfortunately the pasta was a bit too salty and we didn’t finish it. The prawns were exquisite and the highlight of the meal for me. We finished off with a dessert platter of Nutella donuts and cannoli, which was good but nothing spectacular. Throughout the meal, table service was excellent and watching the sunset go down over the marina and the lights on the cliff houses go on was magical. While the food is nothing to shout about, it’s still all in all, a good experience and would recommend for special occasions.
Came here for lunch and it was very quiet so we had lovely service.Food was nice, I had a pasta and it was decent but the fries were amazing, very crisp. The restaurant is located in a lovely part of Mosman on the water and worth a visit for a nice walk afterwards.
Actual rating: 3.5
Chiosco is the less formal branch of fine dining restaurant, Ormeggio at the Spit next door. We went for the set menu which was decent value at less than $80 for about 10 courses. My personal favourites: the gorgeous dark, crusty sourdough with a grassy olive oil; bruschetta with fresh cheese and anchovy; gnocchi with gorgonzola, pickled pear and walnuts; ricotta cannoli. Efficient service and food arrived quickly (could be slowed down, in fact). They were also very accommodating with dietary needs. It's a lovely setting overlooking the waters and is well protected from the elements, with excellent heating for winter dining.
Nice Italian restaurant with great location by the water. During day time you can see the great view. Comfortable seating even though too close to each other and great food. Went for the Degustation menu and wasn't disappointed. Tasty and freshly cooked dishes, well decorated. Friendly service. Coffee wasn't that great though but probably personal.
Enjoyed the dinner in this small interesting Italian restaurant by the D'albora Marinas, at the Spit. We had air dried angus bresaola - rocket - parmesan as antipasti. We shared the mains; Charcoal spatchcock - peperonata sauce with smoked capsicum - rosemary and angus (marble 5), caramelised onions with rocket.... and tiramisus for dessert!... with my typical double espresso.. of course :)
Capriccio bresaola was fantastic! Spatchcock and steak prepared perfectly... simple flavours makes a perfect dish when ingredients are respected as should.
Tiramisu was a real honest tiramisu. Not any kind of new fancy version that is probably ruined with trying to be too fancy. Just loved it. Keep food real - and its good.
They also have nice wines.. ask from staff. Really good, fast, professional service. Knowing their food well.

Had baby snapper, yellowfin tuna and squid for starters. All great, still keeping #4 as rating. Great place!
Devouring freshly shucked oysters with a fantastic glass of white as we watch the sun setting beyond the boats at The Spit marina! I ask you .... on a balmy summer's evening in Sydney where would you rather be! Only booked 10mins before arriving so lucky to get the best table closest to the water! Full house btw. Baby snapper with olives, grapes and capers and Black Angus with caramelised onions and rocket salad. Tiramisu to top it all off. Who cares if the service is a little "Fiji time". I'm chilled and watching the sunset.
Came here for an early valentines dinner. Husband proposed after Dinner at Omeggio but it was closed so he booked Chiosco which is right next door. Beautiful location and good atmosphere. A much more relaxed boaty vibe. Food was well priced. The tasting menu looked appealing for $65pp but due to not eating red meat, there would be too many changes so we opted to order from the menu. Food was good in portion size. Everything was just ok, nothing amazingly special but just ok. Highlight for me was dessert. I'm a sweets lover and the tiramisu and Nutella Bombs were great!
Waitstaff need more training. The one bloke with the glasses and shaved head, probably head waiter was excellent, asked us about our meal and described the dishes. Other staff not so great; forgetting wine, share plates etc. if all staff were trained like this bloke the experience would hVe been a 4/5 not a 3.5/5.
Would like to see a few more specials added if I were to come back.
Took my boyfriend here for his bday. This is the sweetheart of the marina overlooking the luxurious boats on the wharf. The view at 6pm right through to the end of our meal n drinks by the water, was calm and picturesque. We ordered the calamari n prawns and that was yummy appetizing start to the dinner. The only draw back is that there was many more prawns and not much calamari. For the main we ordered the lamb shoulder. OH. This lamb shoulder was sooooo delicious tender; just sliding off the bone n the subtle roasted flavours of the lamb.
As a special treat I asked them to bring out a tiramisu with a candle in it for my boyfriend. They brought out the raspberry pannacotta instead. I let it go because the guy insisted that we not pay for it and he sent two glasses of champagne for us! So sweet!
We ordered two coffees and took in the beautiful sunset before going on a light walk along the marina.
Id definitely recommend this place for that special treat for a loved one or a special night out!😄
Casual little brother of Ormeggio next door... The food is great and deserves to be viewed in its own light and not that of the big brother... I loved the fresh bread, the smoked meats, the wagyu and mushrooms, and the mains were astounding... Save the chicken diavolo and beef for a finale!
The staff we responsive, albeit sometimes missing on a very busy Saturday night...
Overall, awesome, exceptional value, and we'll be back!!!
I celebrated my birthday here and was pleased with everything. Given the numbers of my booking we were forced to do the Sharing Feast menu and no one left the venue hungry. The variety of food, portions and attentive staff was impeccable. Thanks to the team for making the special occasion that extra special. Highly recommended for a long casual lunch with loved ones over great food and drinks by the water.
The starters were nice! Oysters were fresh & the calamari was perfectly cooked and enjoyed the sourdough. For the mains, the Pumpkin ravioli and seafood spaghetti were great as well, however didn't find the swordfish or the veal to my liking.
Enjoy a most lovely evening dinner, food was absolutely delicious, service flawless and setting beyond beautiful. Took a stroll onto the jetty as the sunset was at its best. All of this was done celebrating 47 th wedding anniversary.
We had the Wednesday $20 pasta specials, very tasty and great value. Service was excellent and our waitress helped with wine selection including a brief tasting. It was a wintry raining night but the place was buzzing, the heating was good and a really positive experience all round.
