Excellent service. Great food. The staff are very friendly. Highly recommend this place for some authentic Indian tatsebuds out there. We even got a complementary gulab jamun at the end
MUST VISIT!!!!! This is by far the best Indian my husband and i have ever had, probably even the best Indian Food in Sydney! We went on a cudo voucher and had the mango chicken, butter chicken, garlic naan, the mild tandoori plate, rice and a lovely dessert. It was very authentic and flavoursome. Service was incredibly fast! We will definitly be back soon!
Great corporate party. Enjoyed with all sorts of wines and food. Food was excellent and authentic. A place to visit must. Music was traditional and decor was excellent.
A great place to visit in Neutral bay. I would say this is the best Indian in Sydney. I heard they have one more restaurant in Orange which is having rank 1 in Trip Adviser. I am confident this place will be number 1 in no time.

Great Indian Food in Sydney at reasonable price $$ for the portion you get. Tasty Chicken Tikka Masala (curry) & well cooked egg plant with potatoes. The lady and waiters makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. Love the experience, will definitely come again.
My daughter craved for Indian chat at 745pm and wasn't in a mood to drive all the way to western suburbs ( harris park Parramatta). So decided to try out thar indian restraunt.
We had aloo tikki chat and papdi chat, both were sumptuous, great quality and quantity.
I must say Outstanding customer experience by the staff (extremely courteous and genuinity) and delicious food.
Definetly try this place out. If you happen to be around neutral bay.
They also served papadams complementary. Icing on the cake ;)
Overall experience =Really nice.
Food yummy ( but portions rather small) my vegetable corma felt a bit spicy but perhaps it depends on the region the chef comes from...butter chicken delicious. Relaxed ambience with a soft music in the background, and a complementary desert was a lovely touch. Thank you, will be back to try more of your dishes
I have visited this place with my friend. We tried tandoori chicken spicy, it was superb. Great service and good taste. Highly recommend Thar indian just try once
Thar Indian is located in the busy upmarket Neutral Bay. Open all days with varying timings. They routinely update menu and timings here on Google.
Coming to the food, it is Uh-maiz-zinggg, finger smacking good. We ordered Bhuna Chicken, Goan fish curry and chicken tandoori malai, jeera rice & cheese garlic naan. Papadums & Mango lassi was on the house. Extremely tasty.
The review can’t end without mention of 2 people - Hotel Manager - Rohit Joshi (RoJo) and Associate - Tina. Great guys as they take extra special care of all the guests. RoJo would help you choose the best dish depending on your taste and appetite and a drink to go with it. It is a kids friendly place and the duo makes it all the more comfortable. There is no reason why we wouldn’t go ♾
This is a great find on the Military Road food strip. We made a second visit this week to double check the quality of the food was consistent and even took along two friends to see what they thought. Big win all round!
As vegetarians there is an excellent menu of main courses $20 and below. The staff are exceptionally helpful and will assist you through a selection of dishes that will optimism your visit. To the best of my knowledge the dishes are freshly cooked not reheated, which some restaurants tend to do.
Dine in or takeout it’s worth a try.

Simply one of the best restaurants in Sydney. My family and I were in the vicinity and wanted to have Indian food for dinner. We chanced upon Thar Indian. This turned out to be the best decision. Small restaurant but with 5-star quality ambience. I was impressed with how well the tables were organised. The food was simply delicious. Above all, their customer service was out of the world. Right from the waiters to the boss, everyone was so respectful and caring. They just made our night!
