Originally from Southern California just an hour and half drive to Mexico, I grew up eating the best and most authentic Mexican food. Since moving to Australia 4 years ago I have struggled to find a Mexican restaurant that made better food then the one I make at home, and well I have finally found it here in Newcastle. We had the chicken burrito, which was incredibly seasoned and juicy, and also the carnita nachos (pulled pork), which was absolutely beautiful. The texture of the carnitas was amazing one of the best I have ever had. Not to mention the tortilla chips, which tasted house made.
Overall amazing food and great service! This place really knows the true flavours of Mexican food.
YUMMMMM... food is absolutely divine ... you can tell it's made with love. Everything about this place is authentic. Happy food, hip happy place, staff are super friendly. It's going to become a very regular happy place for me :-o)
Tacos were amazing ! Tried (best to least best) pork, beef, fish and chicken tacos. Even though chicken was my least favourite it was still amazing.
In particular the pork was tender, moist and juicy and made a delicious taco. I though it was amazing value at 3 for 18 dollars.
The drinks were fun and refreshing and I really liked the variety of hot sauces available for the customers to add to the tacos.
Would definitely return!
A very friendly inviting atmosphere, with attentive, polite and helpful staff. Service was quick & excellent. The food, and drink, were fresh and tasty.
Very good and authentic Mexican dishes. Highly recommended.

deliciosa ! So succulent and tender, pork taco is definitely the top dog here. Followed by the fish. Service was so quick and you can even do some colouring in whilst you wait. Cool vibe in the restaurant but get in early there’s a reason why it fills up early.
Most authentic Mexican restaurant I’ve come across in Newcastle. Fresh corn tortillas had all the right flavour and texture. Went on a weeknight and got a table straight away. Staff were friendly and attentive.
We ordered one of each taco besides the vegan and all were great. Generous pico de Gallo on all the tacos and the fish taco was one of the best in my opinion :) Beef nachos were also great.
The drinks were also tasty!
Seriously, how good is Antojitos!
I came here while in town for the weekend. I didn't know about the place until I drove passed and saw a few people waiting for their takeaway orders and noticing that there was a large dine in area too. After googling the menu, we knew we would like to try the spot out.
We didn't have a booking but the wait was not long. We sat along the wall toward the back of the dining space. From here you can really see how Antojitos has made the most of the space. An old factory/warehouse type building. Despite the high ceilings and concrete floors, there wasn't an overwhelming echo which was nice.
Food was exactly as we expected. Decent Mexican street food. Burritos, tacos, Nachos and Mulitas. We went for a burrito, tacos and mulita. The pork in the burrito and tacos was excellent. Cooked to perfection - I would highly recommend the pork in any of their dishes.
Service was fast and efficient. No menus, you scan the QR code at the table to bring the menu up on your phone. When you know what you want, go up to the counter to order and pay and your food will come out in no time.
In terms of service, it was limited to bringing food & drinks to the table, and clearing empty dishes, but keep in mind that this place is Mexican street food inspired, not 5 course restaurant.
Overall, if you are after a casual, flavoursome good quality dinner that will be sure to fill, give Antojitos a try!
Friendly service and got a table straight away despite it being peak time on a Friday night. It was a satisfying feed if you’re craving tacos. Cool decor too which made for good vibes.
Unfortunately much tomato salsa overpowering our tacos - couldn’t even see what was what inside them - even the server told us the wrong thing when they delivered the food. We had ordered pork and baja fish.
Also the beef nachos which were delicious but again, too much salsa - which made for soggy nachos very quickly. Wish there were more nachos!
Also got the pineapple raspberry fruit drink, which literally just tasted like pineapple juice with lots of ice cubes.
Funky open plan restaurant with great food. The place is big and can get crowded but you always have your own space. The food is really good. My partner said it was the best burrito he's ever had. Fish tacos were delicious the other night but my chicken tacos were a little soggy. Still yummy just hard to eat. Very much like a disposable takeaway place but with very good food and drinks available also. Homemade corn chips are crispy and hot.
Delicious Mexican food, fun vibes and a reasonable price.
We’ve been here with friends several times now and have added it to our ‘top places to visit in Newcastle’ list.
The vibes are very fun, the food is delicious (probably the best Mexican in Australia) and it’s all reasonably priced.
We also found the customer service to be excellent. The staff truly go out of their way to be friendly, smile, and look after you.
It’s always busy, but the food still comes out quickly.
