The manager has invented and made some of the best cocktails I've ever had... in particular, the Frangelico Sour and Eau de Lavender are worth the 4000km trip from Perth... I wish I could wrap this cocktail genius up and take him back to WA. However, the food is also exceptional with the most delicious scallop dish, not to mention the share plates, warmed olives, and $1 oysters on Sunday. This place is one of the hidden gems of NSW!
Had dinner here last night and it was seriously amazing. Had a variety of share plates small and large. The sirloin was cooked to perfection. Didn’t even need a steak knife. The smoked bacon arancini was to die for and to top it all off the linchberg lemonade... I need on tap... in my home
Top notch place! Visited for drinks and nibbles because I was staying close by overnight and I'm so glad I did! Amazing dumplings at only $1ea!, Cocktails were also amazing, arancini balls were the best I've had in a while. We had plans to go elsewhere for dinner but ended up staying and drinking cocktails and more food because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Staff were also very lovely! Highly recommend visiting!
We had a 21st party in the function room. The room itself has no hire fee and is perfect. It has a fabulous feel it’s spacious, has its on heating, toilets, audio and has perfect options for those who wanted to seat or stand. The food was fabulous - we had various platter options, and the staff amazing (so helpful). Everybody had a great time and I would highly recommend the Blind Monk function room for those considering a party or event.
5 stars. Bit noisy, but so what. They accommodated when asked if we could turn it down (it would still be 5 stars even if they didn't... they have a business to run and I'm not their only customer).

Food is great and really well priced - cocktails are brilliant. Have come a few times over the last couple of years, and it's always been a consistently enjoyable experience with friendly staff and a great vibe. Among my top 5 venues in Newcastle for a drink
Cocktails are amazing and the entrees were tasty and great for sharing. I will definitely be back for another wonderful afternoon.
We recently held my 40th birthday party at the blind monk in the Priory room.
The room was private with easy access to the bar along with its own bathroom facilities.
The food was delicious, the platter sizes generous and value for money was good.
We were able to decorate the room how we wanted and play our own music.
The staff leading up to the event and on the night were very helpful and accommodating.
Can definitely recommend the blind monk.
Had our anniversary party held here. What an awesome space. The food was awesome with a good variety on the menu. Such a good selection of beers on tap. Will most definitely be back again. Keep doing what you're doing.
We held our daughters 18th in the function room. We couldn’t have been happier with the service and the staff. The food was excellent and the night was enjoyed by everyone. Thank you to all the team at the Blind Monk for making this special night a wonderful memory for our family.
