Aromas on Darby is a rare breed of restaurant. You don't find many places these days that have a warm friendly atmosphere combined with truely outstanding food. Aromas has both of those aspects in spades and something else that I can't quite put my finger on that has me coming back all the time.
The burgers and gourmet turkish are amazing and all their food is so reasonably priced.
I would without a doubt recommend Aromas on Darby to anyone for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
From Wifey- walked in on a whim, but OMG am I glad we did.. The BEST schnity burger I've ever had, and the chips!! What can I say?!? A triumph! Everything was so juicy and reasonably priced! Well done to everyone.
From Hubby- holy gosh we've found our new home! Cheapest most amazing meal I've ever had.
Had the mixed grill, and it quiet literally took my breath away it was that good! A special side note has to go to the chef (young bloke with a beard) can't improve upon perfection. Best chips I've ever had and that's saying something considering I've eaten at some of 'the worlds (so called) best restaurants', where I would choose your chips over their highly priced a la carte menu any day of the week.
The staff are so friendly and welcoming and so chatty with our little one, the hallmark of a great restaurant, service better comparable if not better than American restaurants where they rely on tips. Last but not least the owner, what a genuinely lovely guy, that is smart enough to know how to set a menu and pricing that will allow him to cream all the other restaurants on Darby street. Do yourself a favour and support wonderful restaurants like Aromas rather than the over priced, underwhelming established players.
The little one- omg cake & cream! That ones my favourite, no that one... No that one! And then from a fussy eater, happily tried and ate from every part of the mixed grill.
From the whole family, keep up the awesome work, don't change a thing!
P.S I know longest review ever right! But you're worth it!
Amazing brunch spot in Darby Street Newcastle. The interior is beautifully decorated, with a cozy courtyard section in the back. The coffee (both hot and cold) were excellent! Popped in for a small bite to eat, and the autumn bowl was generous enough to split between two people. Tip: add the chorizo for a heartier meal. Staff were also really lovely. Would love to come back on our next visit.
If you look for brunch place and you are new in Newcastle, The Autumn Room is place to go. Very nice service, from front of house to baristas, I seriously can't complain. I also noticed how efficient they are and now I have clear understanding why this business is thriving. I had great time and visited place multiple times already. Coffee is just the way I like it and food was very tasty. As a former Chef by occupation I would say I can not give you better review than that.
Came here twice over 4 days. First time for afternoon tea and second time for brunch. Service was impeccable with super friendly staff and a great waiting system with a seamless mobile experience.
Unfortunately the Forest berry drink was very diluted and could barely taste anything but the green machine drink was yum. Lemon crumble cake was delicious and I even bought another slice on the second visit to take back to Sydney!
French toast was really memorable and my husband loved the croquettes. Would definitely come back here.
We loved the food. The French toast was perfect, it had the right amount of sweetness and texture. The boys raved about their eggs Benny. That hollandaise sauce was on point. We had 2 coffees each person. Coffee was velvety.
All round excellent cafe, strongly recommend you try it out.
Everything, decor, staff, coffee and food were excellent. Quick and friendly service despite the place being busy, a really inviting and warm space inside, a good range of breakfast options, good coffee and properly made chai lattes.
Prices were fairly normal for a cafe.
Great location, nice atmosphere, the food and coffee speaks for itself and above all excellent service, friendly and professional. The staff really do care about customers and the business. Will be back!!
A true Darby st institution. Delicious large meals. Wide variety of drinks iced and hot. The best chai in Newcastle. Be sure to make a booking on a weekend so you don’t miss out.
Great spot for brunch if you're ever in the Newcastle area. I had the 'thick cut' Bacon Eggs Benedict and it was amazing. Definitely worth a try!
