May partner and I called into this organic bakery to get some bread.
I ended up buying the most delicious croissant which was light and buttery ... wow!!
Then I brought a baguette which was crunchy on the outside ... perfect and soft and fluffy in the inside. This was soo good I should have brought 2 hahaha.
Then I brought a light rye burger which was equally as good.
This was some of the best bread and croissant that I’ve had in some time.
This bakery is a must visit!
Best croissants and pain au chocolate in Melbourne and as good as the best boulangeries in France. Locals are all devotees as there is always a big line on the weekend, which thankfully moves very quickly!
Possibly the best hot cross bun in town! Reasonably big line that moves quickly; lucky to snag a table out the front (there aren’t many seats). After the hot cross buns we decided to try a chocolate croissant... I reckon they are pretty good, not quite lune but not far off. A really nice place for a Saturday morning breakfast and to grab bread for the day. They also supply a few local cafes.
Tastiest organic sour dough in town. I love how crispy and light their croissant is. Beats some of the hyped bakeries around town. For more foodie goodness follow my ig: emptystomach
Very good service. They have a La Marzocco machine so the espresso was perfect.
It's small and cosy, l like these sort of places.
I got an olive loaf and it was excellent, very good bread.
The best cheese and tomato croissant I've had in years! Perfect amount of filling, cheese melted, structure and crunch maintained and hot! Keep it up!
From breads, to coffee and filled baguettes, can't fault anything. Sausage roll is next level - 3yr old is hooked. Friendly staff, small space but always takeaway so not an issue. A clear 5/5
Generally good small and intimate space. Only four tables and a bench inside. Coffee creamy and tasty but a bit weak and underdone in my humble view. Not sufficiently Melbourne like. Staff pleasant. Breads and cakes looked good although a small range only as the place itself is small. Brisk business. Has potential to grow.
This place is a little gem. The bread is probably the best in Melbourne, so full of flavor. And the sausage rolls are to die for, I'm drooling just typing this. As for the coffee it gets a big thumbs up and the staff are always very welcoming.
Best baguette in the surroundings and cute little bar for breakfast. Amazing and delicious small pizza slices for snacks and unmissable biscuits, always changing
Delicious crispy almond croissant for the best value in Melbourne!
Loafer Bread was this week’s agenda on my list of finding the best croissants in Melbourne.
For only $6.50, with staff who kindly warmed up the pastries, I highly recommend trying it out! Compared to the other almond croissants in the game, this one’s got a hefty amount of almonds which adds a heap of nutty flavour but I’m not complaining! Butteriness is an understatement! It’s more on the crispier side than it is flaky, and just a little bit over baked at that time :(
The frangipane filling inside was definitely the star of the show here - good amount of spices with a nice mellow tone of rum, soft consistency. Personally didn’t blow my mind and I would prefer it less sweeter but if it was in my area, 100% would be grabbing this on the regular!
Food: 4/5
Value: 5/5
Ambience: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Bought the breakfast bun on my birthday so came in with high expectations. Ended very satisfied, and happily surprised with the tempeh, kale and relish. A great change from the local toastie culture. I recommend you add hot sauce 👌
Very busy and popular bakery.
Breads look fantastic, but coffee not so good
Best plain croissants in melbourne, best ham and cheese croissants, best pan au chocolate, best almond croissant. Great sausage rolls, have three (!) types to choose from. Great non tradition breakfast roll, no bacon but has tempeh and is delicious. Best relish I’ve ever had, i only wish they sold it all year round as I can’t go back to any other relish.
Loafer bakery is pretty much perfection! The croissants are delish, the potato danish is one of the best things you will eat, the focaccia is incredible and to top it all off, the baguettes are some of the best bread I have ever eaten. Perfection may sound extreme but in my opinion, it is!
This tiny little shop in North Fitzroy produces some of the most flavorsome foods you are ever likely to eat.
I tried the light rye sourdough and an apple pastry and the amount of flavor, texture and attention to detail is fantastic.
I haven't tried their coffee yet but it must be equal to what I just ate.
Bring your own cup if you want coffee take away too, they dont supply those plastic lined paper cups and a good thing too.
Highly recommend.
I loaf everything about this place, from no single use cups, delicious pastries, yummy coffee and warm service. My favourite place to visit on a day off :)
Loafer = life. The best of the best. Nothing legit beats Loafer at anything. Best almond crossiants hands down in Melbourne.
