We dined at The Emperor's table after the Sydney Swans game on Saturday night and I can honestly say without a doubt it was the best Chinese meal that I have ever had, and the service was fantastic, Our friends who also dined with us said the same thing and we complimented the head waiter on a great meal and great service. Not sure if the bad reviews were from another restaurant because it certainly is not what they said it was, thanks very much, we will be back after The Swans play Richmond on 30th August.
Surprised at the couple of bad reviews.. I've been eating here close to ten years and it's great. Up there with the best yum cha in sydney, and I've been to a lot of them. My only criticism is it's expensive compared to other restaurants, seems to me about 25% more. But the prawn and chive spring rolls are so good, it's worth it.
Away from the over crowded city and shopping centres this yumcha restaurant at North Ryde RSL is pretty much a local's secret. With a mix of clientele you know it's gonna be good and they serve classics like siu mai, har gau and a variety of cheungfun loved by all. For the vegetarians you can order whatever you want - like fried noodles in dark soy, za leung and vegetarian beancurd roll amongst a limited selection of vegetarian steam dumplings. However their desserts here are so popular that by 2pm the favourite (mango pancake rolls) were sold out. Personally my favourite dessert here is the egg custard lava tarts (be careful, it's hot and can be messy for amateurs so take it slow), and the egg tarts!
I must say the food here is excellent, always good yum cha with a good selection and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Been coming for 8 years and always leave happy and satisfied with the quality and quantity of food. The only drawback is that the prices have risen and we don't go so much.
